She doesn't power on any more and refused to play most 7800 carts when she did (but she played 2600 fine) but if anyone wants one to play around with or salvage parts off of or even make a piece of art out of, they're more than welcome to it. The bottom of the outer shell is shattered and the rest of it isn't in the best shape. I'd be more than happy to send it off to a good home to be fixed or I'll give her a viking funeral. All I ask is shipping cost (I dunno what it would be).

Just an update, it must have been the system. I got a new 7800 and it works perfectly with the CX78 joypads and the games all work. So strange, no game past '88 worked. I wonder what was changed.
BTW, enjoying the hell out of Midnight Mutants and Ninja Golf right now
Also a quick note, because Ninja Golf has no music (aside from the sparse musical sting every so often) I found the soundtrack to Kung Fury fits the game perfectly.

Random Question: Do you have a 7800 2 button joystick plugged in when you turn it on?
I once thought my Midnight Mutants cart was bad, however I only had a single button controller in it. Either a standard 2600 joystick or a Sega Genesis pad without an adapter.
When I started it with a Pro-line controller, game started up perfectly.
I'm using the CX78 joypads. I found a pair in a shop in downtown Chicago for cheap. You think that's it?

Hey guys,
Been a long time since I posted here but I just recently started rebuilding my Atari 7800 collection from scratch. I got one that works (I think) and I've gotten Midnight Mutants and Ninja Golf in perfect shape. Neither worked, so I got new ones, sealed, they didn't work. Dig Dug works, Donkey Kong Jr. works. Pole Position II works.
I'm 90% sure those games that wont work are NTSC, I cleaned the ever loving crap out of them. I just don't know.
Is it possible that my unit is just going bad and it won't work with later games? I know Dig Dug, DK Jr. and PP II are all like 88 and before and Ninja Golf and Midnight Mutants are 90 and after. Does that even make sense those wouldn't work?
They make it to the multi-colored Atari banner and then blank screen, sometimes they make a mono-toned squeal. Is it bad ROMs four times in a row?Anybody ever hear of this?

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anybody refurbishes Bally Astrocade controllers, if not I need to buy some. Thanks guys.
We just got a Bally Astrocade in at work and we bought it, unfortunately, none of the controllers work properly. If there are no controllers, we are selling it $199.99 as is. I tested it with my functional ones and it works beautifully. We are selling it with 17 games.

Is the label as yellow as it looks, or is that just the effect of the flash on the metallic finish making it look moreso?
That is more of a camera effect, it's more silvery than that. Make no mistake though, there is a little yellowing around the edges.

Here are some pictures of the case. It is in fact for a model 2 SEGA CD with a model 2 Genesis. I do not believe there was a model 1 SEGA CD rental case (there was a model 1 Genesis rental case). Please notice the condition of the inner foam, the rips in the bottom all over the controller holders, the Justifier impression in the foam on the lid of the case, and just the impression of various things all over the foam.
I had purchased this from a Blockbuster in the mid 2000s, and it was in this condition. I was able to get the system and case for $24.99.
Anyway, if there is any angle I didn't cover or a part you want a closer look at, let me know.
I saw one that is gone now on Ebay that went for $150 in similar condition (a hinge was broken and the foam was damaged). However, that is Ebay and I wouldn't expect $150 here. Make me a fair offer or even a good trade. I'm always on the look out for cool Colecovision stuff or early NES stuff ( mid-tier rare games, memorabilia, etc.). SNES too.

Hey y'all,
I'm looking to trim the fat from my game collection and nowhere easier is it to trim than at my SEGA collection. Already sold all my Master System stuff and random SG-1000 games, now I'm looking to get rid of a pretty rare piece. For sale is the Blockbuster rental case for a Sega CD. Please note that the SEGA CD is not included.
The inside foam of the case is not in the best shape, the label is wrinkled and yellowed, however it is completely intact.
I was running late for work and my camera ran out of batteries, so pictures will be up tonight or tomorrow. This is more of and interest check kinda thing then at the moment, still, let me know if you're interested. Feel free to PM.
EDIT: ADDED PICS BELOW

I got a few posters that I'm not using from the late NES early SNES era of Nintendo. Let me root around at my store, I'm sure there are a ton of Genesis posters for common games we have sitting in the back if my coworkers haven't pitched them yet. I'll let you know what I dig up.

Got my CV upgraded with an A/V mod and controller refurbish. The system works better than when it was new and I haven't seen the picture this clear ever. Thanks Yurkie!

You already have the hardest to obtain (with the manual)... and it's an awesome game

Oooooo, if only I didn't have a complete NTSC Virtual Boy collection

I may have to pick one of those up though... I hear that Gundam game and Space Invaders are awesome, plus homebrews are always fun to mess around with

-
Thanks for the heads up. I e-mailed them and they assured me that it's the US copy of Jack Bros. They also told me that it comes in a carrying case. I decided to go with it and purchased it.
You will not regret it

VB is super fun. A really underrated and demonized system for what it is (I think the internet is to blame). I love mine... thinking about getting it out and having a go right now.
Oh, and I would suggest tracking down an AC adaptor if it doesn't have one. The battery pack is fine, but sometimes it's a real b**** to track down a bunch of AAs.
Also, invest in Visine and lots of it.

Just a heads up, I saw on Amazon the other day a Virtual Boy for $269 + $12.24 shipping that is complete, listed as very good with 7 games + manuals and system manual including the rarest game on the VB, Jack Bros.
If the game is the NTSC ver. of Jack Bros it would be more than worth it when you consider you should expect to pay around $100 on the upper end for a complete working VB in very good condition + $150 typically for Jack Bros w/ manual. I would for sure contact the seller and confirm it is in fact the NTSC ver. though, since the Japanese version (while still somewhat rare) is worth much less.
The only downside is that Mario Clash and Wario World are not among the included games... and those games really are the only reason to own a VB besides Jack Bros.

I am slowly building up a complete Colecovision game collection (officially released NTSC titles only) and, while I enjoy the charm of the Colecovision controller, I just find it easier to play a good chunk of my favorite games using the Atari CX78 Joypad (maybe my favorite controller of all time, besides the dogbone NES-101 controller). Therefore, I am trying to track down a working Champ Adaptor CA-340. It anybody has a lead on one, let me know.

I will for sure be in if this is released in the near future

Smurf
Smurf please, the Smurf game is actually pretty fun and Smurfing hard. I mean, it's hard out there for a Smurf when even a blade of grass can Smurf you up royally.
All the rest of the ones you got are awesome in their own right... even Cabbage Patch

Thanks everyone! I just ordered 15 games for a great price from that thread.
Oooo, don't leave us guessing, which ones?

You need to download the latest software updates, then re-sync your games with your console via your Nintendo Network Friend Code.
This gave me a good chuckle

Video games are such a bitch nowadays....

What?!?! No Platoon! Why, this is an outrage! *grumble, grumble*
But cerally, I'm a little suprised at Ducktales 2 over Ducktales. I thought the first one was much better if only because it is familiar. I didn't really like the levels in Ducktales 2 and they tweaked the controls a little for the worse, imo. Either way, good list... I love seeing PAL versions of games on lists

So I was excavating my parent's crawlspace again trying to find some old Halloween decorations I want for my house and I found something... better. A box of cassette tapes! Which is great because my car still has a cassette deck. Actually, they were my older sibling's cassettes and they had a great taste in music back in the 90s and 80s. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rush, Talking Heads, Presidents of the United States, Crash Test Dummies, Beck... oh yeah, good stuff.
After peeking through the box, I found a bunch of mix tapes too. Some made off the radio, some made from records, some made from cds... but I'm sure y'all know the purposes of mix tapes. Anybody who put in the time and effort to make a cassette mix tape usually made them for specific purposes such as a road trip or jogging or what-have-you. Well, I remember my older brother making some for Colecovision because he got sick of the beeps and boops (which, how could you ever get sick of things like the William Tell Overture playing every three seconds in Venture
I don't get it
). I found one I remember he used to play while playing Colecovision because I recognized the one Oingo Boingo song I heard over and over again (Wild Sex, if anyone is curious). He must have made it sometime in the late 80s or even early 90s. So, I of course listened to that mix the whole way home. Here's the tracks off the mix as he labeled them:Uncontrollable Urge - Devo
Broken Hearts Are for Assholes - Frank Zappa
Breakaway - Big Pig
Major Tom - Peter Schilling
Bad Reputation - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Gloria - Patti Smith
Oh Bondage, Up Yours - X-Ray Spex
I'm the Leader of a Gang - Gary Glitter
Wild Sex - Oingo Boingo
You Are What You Is - Frank Zappa
1984 - David Bowie
Rebel Rebel - David Bowie (label as Diamond Dogs on the cassette, but actually Rebel Rebel)
Jewish Princess - Frank Zappa
Road to Nowhere - Talking Heads
Take 54 - Harry Nilsson
Kicks - Lou Reed
Dirty Love - Frank Zappa
Hollywood Babylon - Misfits
Trying to Grow a Chin - Frank Zappa
Uncle Remus - Frank Zappa
Catholic Girls - Frank Zappa
As you can see, he was a Frank Zappa fan (and I don't blame him
). Tis a good mix... a very good mix. Welp, did anybody else make mixes to game by? -
Your list is already developed in
http://www.atariage....20/page__st__50
post #59 has the latest and greatest. The last column tells you what controllers you can use with what games.
Supposedly PAL and NTSC carts are exactly the same because they look at a BIT in the colecovision bios that tells them what speed to run at for the different systems.
If i could kiss atariage, I would. This place is wonderfull

So, I was trying to find a list of games that require or use the Roller Controller or the Super Action Controller. I couldn't find one, so I decided to make my own and turn to the experts here. So here is what I know, please comment and add to the list.
Roller Controller Games:
Centipede
Omega Race
Slither (required)
Victory (required)
Wargames
Super Action Controller:
Front Line (required)
Rocky Super Action Boxing (required)
Super Action Baseball (required)
Super Action Football (required)
Super Action Football/Soccer (PAL) (required)
Help me flesh this list out

Also, do PAL games work on NTSC systems?
