Finally discovered the name of the show that was on when I was around 4 or 5 years old. Mother had put sister's large teddy to dry by the fireplace but a cinder fell from the hearth and set it alight. Always remembered that there was a cartoon on the TV at the time. It was Speed Buggy, one of the lesser known Hanna-Barbera cartoons.

  I used to watch that! ...And Jabberjaw...and...Man so many others!...They had a lot of cartoons that followed that Scooby Doo format it seems like...

  I was just thinking on that...everyone remembers Scooby Doo, but there was Josey and the Pussycats, Inch High Private Eye, The New Shmoo, The Buford Files, Captain Caveman, Drak Pack...Lotsa shows where they solve mysteries haha...
