  1. Rest of the world must think that the UK is an asylum. All this fuss over wearing embroidered poppies on football shirts. Nothing special about this year, apart from it being 11/11/11. You wouldn't do anything special for your 93rd wedding anniversary, would you?

I've been sending emails to a cousin (vice pres. of the FAW, no less) on this issue and he doesn't seem that bothered about it either. He doesn't even know if Wales are going to have the armbands done due to lack of time. It's been blown out of all proportion by the English FA, media and politicians. In 7 years, it would make more sense.

Hey i would rather wear a poppie than a poopie.

"The Duke's strong view is the poppy is a universal symbol of remembrance"

Really? I thought it was the universal symbol of junkies.

  2. Best Buy didn't last long over here ... just 6 months. All 11 stores are closing. Apparently they were nothing like Best Buy in the US - no real bargains to be had.

I wish they had Fry's in the Northeast. :/

@Nuclear: extra taxes? I hadn't heard that....what are the specifics? I wouldn't doubt that they're pushing states to levy taxes though. Really purchaes are automaticlly subject to state sales taxes, just that many on-line retailers don't have to collect them. Then again, I'm SURE that the buyers are properly reporting the purchaes at tax time!

@Metal Ghost: Yeah basically you are right it's the big box stores are pushing for Congress to force Amazon to include sales tax for everything from all states. Look, even with sales tax added, Amazon STILL has a better deal on just about everything the retailers can offer.

  3. Watched Top Gear US this morning. Withholding judgement for now. Seems they have a gorilla and two hamsters but no captain slow.

I really liked Shameless, but I also admit I'm a Emmy Rossum and William H Macy fan. :)

I tell you what, Skins surely didn't do well over here. The UK version rocks ass, but people here are too damned up tight for that show.

I'm so intrigued by it - like a Rabbit staring into headlights - that I'm going to watch another episode. But what's up with their Stig? He looks about 10!

  4. Wish I had time to sit down by an A8 or ST and play some of the games I used to play, or those that I missed first time round. But it's all work work work. Self employment isn't the fun I thought it might be :(

  5. Updating my HTC Trophy 7 to Mango. Eligible for a phone upgrade at the end of the month. More than happy with what I've got but I'll get an Android just to work with.

  6. The Anglesey edition of Monopoly. The perfect Christmas gift.

  7. Just gave OnLive another go. Worked better than last time but lag still caused me to crash twice on HAWX.

  8. I feel a great disturbance in the Force. It's as if thousands of Blackberry users suddenly regretted their iPhone 4 jokes.

  9. Just noticed I was getting ripped off by eBay. Set up an eBay shop to see how things would go and ended up with a bill of £27, despite most things being free auction listings. Given what I sold, there is no way the bill should be more than £20.

the monthly shop fee is the killer.

    2. Tickled_Pink

      Tickled_Pink

Yeah, but the shop fee is only £15. I'm just racking my brains trying to work out where eBay found the bulk of the other fees from.

  10. One hell of a win by Ireland against the Aussies. Wales were robbed by the ref against South Africa. The only invincible Southern Hemisphere team seems to be New Zealand.

  11. Didn't even know there were still coal mines in South Wales until this week.

did you get outbid on something you wanted.

  14. Stupid stiff legs.. Stupid stiff self - shouldn't have gone for that 2 mile run yesterday.

  15. Another defeat by Wales. But they've looked sooo much better in the last two games - beating a team 98 places above them in the FIFA rankings and should have snatched a draw against the fourth best team in the world. HOW DID HE MISS THAT FROM TWO YARDS OUT!!!???

No. F***ing Earnshaw showed why he's one of the most travelled players in English football. Everyone soon realises just how crap he is and then passes him onto another bunch of suckers.

  16. Why is it so hard to find a Squier RB3 Pro guitar in the UK?

  17. Watching Strike Back: Project Dawn ... finally! A British action/thriller series worth watching.

  18. I hear that Carmel has committed seppuku - like half of North London.

  19. We've been offered the chance to spend a month in New Zealand next year with a friend and her brother's family. That's great. So when't the next ship leaving?

    1. svenski

      svenski

Is your friend one of my friends?, if so I'll go and you can feed the dog while I'm gone! :)

  20. George Takei on "I'm a celebrity ... get me out of here" - This is what a bunch of 12-16 year old stable girls will be doing next week (though not quite so bad) ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwotCRq2NQA

  21. Looking forward to next week's charity event - I'm a stable girl ... Get me out of here. More on this in my blog in s few minutes.

      Tickled_Pink

Nah. I get to eat what I like in front of them while they starve. Gonna be fun.

    2. greencoman

      greencoman

why do they starve, they could just buy a hotdog or something. Or are they on some kind of fast.

    3. Tickled_Pink

      Tickled_Pink

I guess you've never watched "I'm a celebrity"? They have to complete challenges satisfactorily to get decent meals and treats. Otherwise they're on rations.

  23. Awwww ... my kitty's all grown up. He's just caught his first mouse.

  24. Hackers should be hung, drawn and quartered ,,, slowly ... over a period of 2 weeks.

    1. the.golden.ax

      the.golden.ax

Hey if you like your hackers well hung, whether physical or drawn, that's no reason to play quarters with them. Not even for 5 minutes. Two weeks is way too long to play quarters, no matter how well endowed or drawn someone is.

    2. Itchy Koala

      Itchy Koala

You need to check out the documentary called Hackers Wanted

    3. GreenDayRlz

      GreenDayRlz

If it wasn't for hackers, we'd have no homebrew. Everyone who agrees with hacking being killed, the same thing reverse engineered all systems so far. Now hackers who steal games that are on the market should die, software hackers, but that's about it....

  25. Why is it that Smaato can develop and release a multiregional Windows Phone 7 advertising SDK that works with XNA, but neither Microsoft or Google can't?
