I feel like I can do better. I made some stupid mistakes at the end. I also got sidetracked with other games.. There aren't enough hours in a day for all the high scores I want to practice for.

Oh my. It reminds me of a friend I had. I went over to hang out, and he was eating bacon, telling me he finished a one pound package.
He threw up later.

Why do all of our threads veer sooooo far off topic?!?!
:-)
Life isn't as interesting if topics are always adhered to.

I will have to check if my soldering iron will work for this. The stripped screw happens to be the one which is the deepest set in the casing. I was barely able to reach it with the bit in the first place.
-
If you find an snes repair specialist, please let me know. I have a console which needs cleaning up and/or repair, but it has a stripped screw. How do I get past this without just ripping open the casing?
-
Ohh, too bad. I was really hoping that champs adaptor would be the answer for me, as I have two new atari trackball controllers. I haven't used any trackball controller for these consoles yet. Do any jump out as better (is the atari one worth modding)? I wonder why it won't jive with the adaptor.
Alright, sorry for getting off topic. I'm done now.

Well, if you decide to purchase through Atari2600.com, rest assured that they thoroughly test everything sold. I have purchased numerous games and controllers from them and have been 100% satisfied everytime.
Sometimes things just happen for no explainable reason and the verdict is still out in this case if the CV system is at fault or the controllers. Too bad "goldenegg" doesn't have another CV or even an ADAM to test the controllers on.
BTW, the only thing bad that I can think of to say about Atari2600.com is that they didn't give me a heads-up when some CV CIBs that I need went up for sale!!!

Which games do you need? Also, will atari roller controllers work on cv with the champs adaptor?

How am I supposed to get D2K now?? Bummer...

I have been into Intellivision for many years, but I recently started playing and collecting Colecovision with much enjoyment. Which side to fight for in this epic showdown?!
-
This makes me wary.. I had just begun a hunt for a reasonably priced, perfectly functioning roller controller.
-
I am just beginning in Colecovision collecting, so I don't know what would be my rarest, but I know some which may be hard to find..
I have about all of the Imagic and Xonox games complete and mint. Wizard of Id's Wiz Math complete in box might be the one I have which I consistently see rated the rarest. I also have all complete Spectravision games like Sector Alpha, Flipper Slipper, and Frantic Freddy. Up n Down, Threshold, and some Sierra Online complete as well. I was told one of my B.C.'s Quest games was a box variation, don't remember which. I've got some other stuff which seems great to me, but like I said, I don't have extensive knowledge on rarity, so I will end it here.

I got a modded Colecovision from Yurkie, and it plays perfectly. I ordered all the mods, and each one was worth it. The straightened cords help me sit at a comfortable distance, the pause switch is convenient for drink breaks, etc., and the controllers work very well. I plugged the composite cables in, and I was playing in seconds (using the skip bios) with great quality audio and visual outputs. I have already put in many hours, and I'm just getting started.
Thank you, Yurkie!

I bought some Colecovision games from him, and they were packaged safely, arriving in great shape. Thank you for the good deal!

Mine is on the way! Am I entered into the drawing?

I just ordered one. I'm looking forward to it greatly.
Hmm.. Which game to play first??

I understand what you mean, but with some self control, you can forge your own experience to be as enjoyable as you desire. I find I enjoy games more if I leave the mystery in them by not looking up every secret, whether it is classic or modern. For example, I realize I can find out every place to get secret items or extra lives in old platformers, or the most powerful weapons and armor in games like Skyrim.. However, it becomes exponentially more rewarding to stumble across these things when using my own personally devised strategies. I may not always have the highest scores or be able to cut down every enemy I encounter with one blow while taking no damage, but those are not usually the reasons I am playing games to begin with. I prefer a massively difficult battle which I must use more of my brain as opposed to finding exploits and walkthroughs to beat a game as quickly as possible.
It reminds me of friends I had growing up. I would be all excited about beating games such as Goldeneye on N64, earning extra modes and cheats by playing on higher difficulty levels. They would just pop in the gameshark the first day they got the game and have access to every level, playing through while invincible and with no challenge whatsoever. How boring and unrewarding..
This is not to say I have never used a gameshark, walkthrough, or cheat... But I usually only do so after exhausting every way to enjoy the games without those things. For example, I have played many games to death. We are talking hundreds if not thousands of hours. After that, yeah maybe I'll turn on some hilarious cheats such as combining the two cheats in gta games- "give all pedestrians weapons" with "riot mode." I'm not putting down anyone who wants to cheat the moment they start playing a game, but it just isn't fun for me, and usually ruins the experience. Everyone has their own way of enjoying video games. Find yours and don't worry so much about what everyone else is doing.
