  1. This game is addicting. I just doubled my high score!
  2. I know I can keep getting better scores, but it's getting monotonous. I'm starting to feel sorry for the gorillas.
  3. This was my first time playing this game. Hopefully, I can get a better score in time.
  4. I just ordered one. I'm looking forward to it greatly. Hmm.. Which game to play first??
  5. I understand what you mean, but with some self control, you can forge your own experience to be as enjoyable as you desire. I find I enjoy games more if I leave the mystery in them by not looking up every secret, whether it is classic or modern. For example, I realize I can find out every place to get secret items or extra lives in old platformers, or the most powerful weapons and armor in games like Skyrim.. However, it becomes exponentially more rewarding to stumble across these things when using my own personally devised strategies. I may not always have the highest scores or be able to cut down every enemy I encounter with one blow while taking no damage, but those are not usually the reasons I am playing games to begin with. I prefer a massively difficult battle which I must use more of my brain as opposed to finding exploits and walkthroughs to beat a game as quickly as possible. It reminds me of friends I had growing up. I would be all excited about beating games such as Goldeneye on N64, earning extra modes and cheats by playing on higher difficulty levels. They would just pop in the gameshark the first day they got the game and have access to every level, playing through while invincible and with no challenge whatsoever. How boring and unrewarding.. This is not to say I have never used a gameshark, walkthrough, or cheat... But I usually only do so after exhausting every way to enjoy the games without those things. For example, I have played many games to death. We are talking hundreds if not thousands of hours. After that, yeah maybe I'll turn on some hilarious cheats such as combining the two cheats in gta games- "give all pedestrians weapons" with "riot mode." I'm not putting down anyone who wants to cheat the moment they start playing a game, but it just isn't fun for me, and usually ruins the experience. Everyone has their own way of enjoying video games. Find yours and don't worry so much about what everyone else is doing.
  6. Alright, I've been waiting all week to post my score, since I haven't been able to play during the last half of this competition. It isn't amazing, but not bad for only a few days of playing time. Congrats to everyone on their scores. This was a good competition.
  7. I understand how interrupted sleep is a bummer, especially near the end, but on the bright side, packages being delivered that early is something I am jealous of. I am lucky if I get mine by 4 or 4:30 pm. However, the mail is somewhat of a joke where I live. I could tell you stories you wouldn't believe about what my parcels go through to get to me. The mail people around here seem like they hate existence and are one step away from losing it.
  8. Thanks for all the input. I've now got a lot of fun and rare games to track down, which is a good part of the fun!
  9. Why couldn't you guys give all these amazing tips before I left for Vegas???? Haha
  10. Ebay bucks give back 2% of your quarterly spending, I believe.
  11. This is definitely getting intense. It's unfortunate I will not be able to compete for the rest of the competition for this game. I might have one more chance tomorrow, but that will be it. Damn!! It figures this would happen on one of my favorite games of all time.
  12. Thanks for the heads up guys. I'm looking forward to checking these out.
  13. I have seen many rare games and variants with multiple decreasing price stickers from kaybee toys.. It's like they couldn't give this stuff away at a certain point in time. It makes me wonder what bargain bin items of today will be tomorrow's bidding wars.
  14. I haven't done it in the intv version, but the nes Burgertime has a great maneuver I always loved using. If you have the timing down, you can run towards an enemy and drop him on the ingredient as he runs over the very edge. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I wonder if it can be done on other versions. It seems like on nes, the ingredients have a wider area of being able to drop the enemies.
  15. Does anyone know any retro gaming related places to check out in Las Vegas - stores, arcades, museums, whatever? I figured someone has probably seen something awesome, and google doesn't always tell the whole story. Thanks in advance.
  16. Sometimes exhausting searches turn up lost gems from previous defeats. I don't need to use a ten year old Creative Nomad charger for my Darth Vader psp anymore.. Found the original charge cable when I was looking for the intv 2 power supply. Double score!
  17. Some impressive scores are coming in. I'm curious to know the history people have with this game. I, unfortunately, have never seen an arcade Burgertime cabinet. My first exposure to this game was on Intellivison, and I have loved it ever since, playing it on and off over the years. I want to acquire more versions of it, but I keep hearing intv is the best version anyway. I still need Diner! I'm glad the hsc chose this game, as it's been a while since I played, and I scored a personal best last night!
  18. Sometimes I play a game too much, and I need a break from the sounds. I occasionally mix songs, but I really enjoy listening to albums all the way through while gaming.
  19. Wow, that is quite the find. How did they look?
  20. If only it was fiction..if only it was... It made me laugh when you said I described every day for you. It's funny, my girlfriend will surprise me by knowing where something is which I absolutely can not find. How do they do that?
  21. Do you guys use a similar strategy for each level, or do you find some levels tougher in which to corral the enemies together? I try to drop as many as I can on the ingredients, but I don't know some levels well enough and end up just trying to survive.
