  1. I'm getting the urge to acquire some retro goodies.. the only question is which platform? Colecovision, Intellivision, NES, or something else?

      Intellivision, then Lynx, then Colecovision.

      How about a Vectrex? That's a neat system. :)

  2. Are the rocks and diamonds random, making the game play different each time?
  3. It seems a couple of my favorites were missed- Tapper and Kung Fu Heroes.
  4. I have been off the scene for a while, but there are definitely a couple things here pulling me back. Thanks for renewing my interest!
  5. I love skill level three. If anyone has any games they feel confident about playing on skill three, take a pic of your score and post it on my skill level three challenge thread in the Colecovision high score area. Let's get some friendly competition going. I've been slacking, but I'll get some new scores up soon.
  6. I found the game fun and addictive when I tried it. However, I have not played it since. I was trying to figure out why when it hit me. It's the same reason I would play the Borderlands games offline, by myself. I can't stand when I want to tactfully fight enemies and explore a game while people I'm playing with are racing through, trying to experience as little as possible. If I don't race through with them, I'll get no kills/points or have any fun. I hate feeling rushed. Your review has inspired me to try it again, but I am worried about the Borderlands style issue of stopping for two seconds to look at something and being three rooms behind the "race to the end" type people. It takes a lot of the challenge away.
  7. I am in a crisis. Any collectors live around Indiana, Michigan, or Ohio? I've got rare Colecovision and 2600 cib stuff, and I could really use some cash.

I'm in Ohio. What do you have?

  8. I know someone will post about how much they hate these, but I get lots of enjoyment from using an nes Advantage and a Honyu Explorer I. Both are very well built, I love the stick and button action, and the whole setup, including adaptors is very cheap. They are great for all kinds of console and arcade games. I have set personal bests in many games with these including Tapper, Robotron, Donkey Kong, and many others.
  9. I would love a case for mine, but for now, bubble wrap will have to do. What kind of case would be best? I wish there was a huge version of the same protector cases I have for my NES, SNES, 2600, and Colecovision games (perfect, snug fit), but that's very unlikely. A similar case for the SGM would be cool, too.
  10. Last one outside is a Clavin!

  11. In high school, my friends and I found our school and all kinds of people just throwing out huge crt monitors and tvs all the time. Nobody wanted to go through all the trouble of hauling them away, so we took them off their hands. We found many creative ways to destroy them, some of which I can guarantee you wouldn't believe me about. I will tell you this though, we re-enacted the famous Office Space scene a few times, music and all. Good times.
  12. I recently got back into DC. Wow.. Sega Bass Fishing one and two are so damn fun. I found a cheap factory sealed copy of SBF 2, a new in box Sega Fishing pole controller, and a few new in box blue VMUs. Many fish were caught that week. The batteries seem fine in the sealed VMUs, but maybe that's because they still had that plastic tab in them to keep the contacts apart.
  13. I am meticulous about storing things for preservation. I don't have a good option for display right now, so everything is carefully bagged, bubble wrapped, or boxed up in my closet. I long for the day I can look at everything in my collection without taking the time to pull it all out. I was taking stuff out recently to show a friend, and I had forgotten how many layers deep the closet was. I found some gems I had forgotten about! NIAD, the accessory shelf has me hypnotized. I have some sealed cables I would think about donating to the shelf since it seems you have the best accessory collection I can recall seeing.

  18. It does. Points of interest are color coded. Michael's are blue, Trevor's are orange, and Franklin's are green.
  19. I am one huge step closer to having a CIB Colecovision collection! I still have some tough finds left though..

@nanochess Thank you! I have seven of the "rare ten," so I mostly just need the easy ones.

  20. I got my SCBT today, but I forgot my only working intv adapter was accidentally taken in a recent move. Bummer.
  21. Well I need to play the classic to warm up while I wait for SCBT!
  22. I just got my order in. I can't wait to throw down on some Burgertime!
  23. Not that I'm complaining, since I acquired a few incredible items, but how and why was such an impressive collection put up for sale on Atari2600.com? It's sad in a way to see someone parting with such a collection.
  24. Nice. It's good to hear you found what you were looking for. I'm curious- was the sealed SS you were looking at the one on Atari2600.com? I'm just wondering how many sealed ones could possibly be out there. It doesn't seem likely there are many.
