I think the person in the video above did not set up their emulator properly.

I'm definitely enjoying the long term statistics. Thanks for all the work! It looks like I need to get going on some more Colecovision and NES! My two favorite consoles need to climb the list.

The whole avgn character is a service to his fans. James makes all kinds of videos, but if you look up the story of the nerd, you'll find he was coaxed into it. Originally, it was his friend Mike, and then the fans who begged for more. I enjoy his Cinnemassacre, Board James, and really any video he makes (watch his Mr. Bucket video- it's artfully crafted, scary, and funny). He really does "take me back to the past" with social commentary, retro urban legends, vintage culture references, etc.
I'm definitely a fan of the guy's work, but I'm not here to defend him- that would be pointless. It just seems like two things keep happening which I will always laugh about and never understand. One is really simple. He doesn't really act and talk like that all the time.. He's just playing a scripted character to fill a demand by a large audience. However, the droves of people on YouTube and really the whole internet keep ranting about how this guy needs to calm down or "it's just a stupid game from the 70's/80's/90's, so why does he care so much?" That's the joke!! Anyway, the second thing, which amuses me to no end, is more complex. It applies to many things including philosophy, religion, entertainment, art, culture, and many more. If something bothers you or you don't like it, stop exposing yourself to it! Are people punishing themselves with experiences they won't enjoy just so they have something to complain about? I think some people live just to get fired up.

I just watched Heat on Blu-Ray the other night. Great film, but I wanted the bad guys to win.
Anyone know any other decent heist or crime films? I've been on a Robert De Niro kick lately.

It's good to hear you are home and recovering. Take it easy, and know you have many people sending positive vibrations your way.

Nice find. What does it sound like?

One big difference here is those things weren't created with any real purpose besides collecting or hoarding them. They are like those commemorative coins, plates, knives, and other worthless junk marketed towards people who think they will go up in value or who just plain have a hoarding problem (limit: five per household!!). Video games were made to be played, so the majority were not kept in pristine condition. Things originally marketed as collectibles almost always end up worthless due to being produced in huge quantities.

Colecovision
Frenzy - 25 minutes
Gulkave - 15 minutes
Konami's Ping-Pong - 25 minutes
NES
Dr. Mario - 40 minutes
I can not get into this game no matter how hard I try to enjoy it. I just find it monotonous and terrible. I gave up and watched some Highlander instead. No more Dr. Mario for me.
The Last of Us on PS3 kept me captivated this week. The in game statistics say I played the single player for over 18 hours! I guess that makes sense- I traded a couple nights of sleep for some playing time. I played the multiplayer a fair bit as well, so I probably got about a full day's worth of playing time in. What an incredible game!
I have six Colecovision home brews on the way right now. So, when I receive them, a Colecovision marathon will ensue. I can't wait!

We need to do a live contest in Europe or in USA next year !
CGE next year ?
Now that I have my special edition cartridge, I can practice on my intv console instead of just playing on an emulator!

All good choices. I have definitely played my fair share of Christmas Carol and D2K.

What intv games have you logged the most hours on? Years ago, I played a LOT of Utopia, Burgertime, Lock n Chase, and LV Poker & Blackjack.

Not a coffee drinker, but I enjoy coffee flavored desserts.

I stayed up all night last night and beat The Last of Us on hard difficulty. Fantastic game.

Damnit! I knew there was something I was supposed to do!

I don't blame you for getting sidetracked- any superior consciousness/AI would come to the conclusion video game collecting is more interesting than world domination.

I've stayed out too late discussing philosophy and the past/future of the human race. I thought I would just stop by and say something before heading to bed- Colecovision is awesome. That is all.

I agree with cmart. Utopia was a favorite of mine when I was younger. I played many hours of it. One thing I would love to see would be an active computer opponent with different difficulty settings. Maybe each boat and building could be upgraded, so instead of building a bunch of the same thing to achieve a desired outcome, you could upgrade things for a higher cost. I think upgrading would also extend game play since the islands wouldn't get crowded as quickly. It would also hurt more when an upgraded building gets hit by weather or rebels, which would be utilized in higher difficulties.. Which brings me to my next suggestion. I wonder if it's possible to have roaming rebels and instead of weather and rebels flat out destroying things instantly, perhaps they could damage things. This would create the need for the ability to repair things. Also, it could be fun to have durability upgrades like weather proofing or anti rebel defenses such as barbed wire fences or land mines!
I have so many ideas about Utopia sequels, because it is such a great game.
