Stops at Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars will mark your progression towards Earth. Each one's a short visit, though. Then it's off again to the next planet--and the next wave of enemies. 10. ROUND 11 - SEASON 9 The notorious thief Harry Hooligan is on the loose! You play the part of Officer Keystone Kelly, sent in to capture Harry. Harry is trapped in a four story mall, and is running as fast as he can to reach the exit at the top. Your job is to catch up to him and send him to prison. You will need to use either the escalators at the end of each floor, or the elevator in the middle to go from floor to floor. The escalators may be further away, but the elevator moves pretty slowly so you will need to decide which route will be faster in getting you closer to your goal. If Harry can make it to the top before you catch him, you will have to retry that level. Harry has no intention of letting you catch him easily, and is hurling everything he can find in an attempt to slow you down. Shopping carts, bouncing balls, biplanes, and more will all be flying past on the screen and will either slow you down or send you back to the beginning if you get hit. As the levels progress, Harry will run faster and faster, and more objects will be tossed your way to duck and jump over Game Information Game Name: Keystone Kapers Released by: Activision Settings: Game 1 Contest Ends Sunday, December 13th 11:00PM EST Contest Rules The HSC rules can be found here Current High Scores 1. 11. ROUND 10 - SEASON 9 The goal of the game is to shoot at targets, while carefully avoiding running out of bullets. Three rows of targets scroll across the screen in alternating directions; these include rabbits, ducks, owls, and bonus items. If a duck target crosses the bottom row without being shot, it will come to life and begin flying down toward the player. Any ducks that reach the bottom of the screen in this manner will eat some of the player's bullets. Objects also periodically appear among the targets that will give the player extra bullets or points when hit. A spinning wheel with eight pipes sits above the rows of moving targets; these pipes and all targets must be shot in order to complete the round. At the end of each round, the player receives bonus points for all bullets remaining in his supply. He then plays a bonus round, where a large white bear with a target walks across the screen. Each time the bear is shot, it rears up for a second, then begins walking more quickly in the other direction. The object is to shoot the bear as many times as possible until it escapes off the screen. Following the bonus round, the next wave begins. Later bonus rounds add more bears to the screen. In higher levels, there are more duck targets and fewer extra bullet targets, putting a premium on accurate shooting. The game ends when the player runs out of bullets. 12. I make a post on the raspberry pi forum but I thought I would post here as well - since its relevant to this community as well: I had an interesting thought for a pi project that I'm hoping others can help me through. I understand there have been various projects that relate to using original controllers on the pi especially with the popularity of game emulators. People have been able to develop the ability to use original atari 2600 (and similar) with the GPIO pins on a Pi. What I have not seen yet is a project that enables you to use GPIOs hooked directly to an atari 2600 console (and perhaps other retro consoles) through its controller port. Why would you do this? Well for one - I'm not a huge fan of emulation and like to use original consoles but depending on the console - the original controller may not be the most desirable option - they are corded and could be considered clunky in comparison to modern controllers. I understand that people have been able to get Xbox 360 wireless controllers to work on Pi units. What if the Pi could be used as a controller interface that will enable you to use a modern xbox 360 controller to play a real atari 2600, sega, nes, etc? Thinking if that is possible I would have interest in expanding that capability to do analog controls for consoles like the vectrex and atari 5200. The atari controller pin outs are fairly straight forward and to make a PI essentially a controller I suspect I would need to have a series of NPN transistors in place to replicate switches that essentially bridge certain pins to ground. Would that be the right way of going about it? Is this possible or am I crazy? I should note that I'm not an electronics engineer here - so providing some direction on wiring something up like this would be a great help!
