  1. It looks like something like this has been talked about... http://atariage.com/forums/topic/226251-ti-peb-prototyping-board/?p=3006468
  2. Ahhh... I forgot about the terminal software having trouble with the nanopeb.. I wonder what is so different about the NanoPEB. It uses the TI communication chip.
  3. I wonder if anyone has tried this with TCPSER. I know this is made for the UDS, but it looks like TCPSER also makes use to Hayes commands, and the fact that you use an ip address instead of a phone number.
  4. I think option 2 makes more sense for Stuarts browser.. Just running Apache, and hosting stuff via that. I think you can probably do the Telnet option today with a Terminal program on the TI, and BBS software running on your PC.
  5. Cool! Ordered the UBERgrom board. I see that comes with two 29F040 chips.. I'll just hang onto these for a rainy day.. I might want to mess around with a programmer.
  6. Will any more of these be produced? Or will you sell chips, and I can build one?
  7. That is interesting.. The end of the ribbon cable pushing against the shield... hmmm.. That was not my problem though.. My screen was also green when everything was wide open. Good tip..
  8. This kind of applies to this group..
  9. Sure is an interesting old thread.. I still look at the brushed aluminum trim in the Monte Carlo, and think TI-99!
  10. That ribbon cable that I bought. Well I ended up ripping it apart into individual wires when it was all said and done. This stuff was stiffer than the OEM stuff. I figured individual wires would be more flexible.
  11. Parts came in, put a new cable assembly together, and I am back in business!
  12. Can you just host a bbs on your network, and host files off of it?
  13. So I bought the following in hopes of just fixing it. I think the 2.54mm pitch will work.. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 181561940904 I know it is 16pins, but that's okay. 40pc though.. lol.. I guess this is one reason those electronic nuts end up with stockpiles of oddities.. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 351175296887 Kind of bugs me sourcing from China, but I didn't feel like spending ages chasing some down domestically.
  14. Mine is the Hi-Tek, I'm going to try replace the cable with something suitible.. What is this get a diode business? Any why would a diode look bad?
  15. Nope, but it looks like the pitch matches those Dupont Style connectors with the 2.54mm pitch may work.
  16. Is there a source for these? Or has anyone soldered a header on the keyboard and put a pre-made cable between the two? I am going to google it. I was pounding away, and some of my keys decided to stop working. Well when disconnecting the cable from the motherboard to see what is up, the whole ribbon broke loose from the keyboard, I am guessing some of the wires already broke causing dead keys. FYI, I tried stripping back the cable, to resolder, but it is brittle and just crumbles when bent. Maybe the rainbow ribbon cable with a Dupont housing.. I could cut a 20 down to 15.. That is assuming it is the same pitch.
  17. Wow Rod! I was wondering where you have been!
  18. firepod, did you make it to the TI convention?
  19. Woke up with a Migraine... It's about an hour from me.. If I left now, I'd get there at 1:30.. Then it is done by 5:00. I'm not doing the pub crawl. Think I will stay home.. Always next year.
  20. I am not a fanatic, but I do like to tinker. The TI-99 was my first computer. I got it in like 1998 or 1997. Yeah, I was on the tail end. My grandparents got it for free from American TV in the Milwaukee, WI Area. They were giving them away when you bought furniture. They had it at their house for a few years before got my hands on it. My brother’s friend tripped over the cable that went from the TI to the RF Modulator and it damaged the circuit board. It cracked the board where the DIN connector is. The family story was that I broke it trying to hook it up to my brain. I have no clue how that started.
  21. I work in the Wire and Cable industry. You'd never be able to make this cable in the states for a reasonable price.. Too much assembly.
