BattleSphere currently cheap on ebay...but for how long
The Helper replied to JagMX's topic in Atari Jaguar
There is no point in me having 2 Battlespheres because I have no one to network with. Anything more than 1 is extra to me. Do you currently have Battlesphere - would this be your first copy or an additional copy for your network purposes? -
BattleSphere currently cheap on ebay...but for how long
The Helper replied to JagMX's topic in Atari Jaguar
I currently have an extra copy of Battlesphere that I got in a big system buy about a year ago that I want to put out on eBay to try and recover some of the 150$ that I calculated it cost me in that purchase. I have been very wary though of putting it on eBay though because I don't want to be labeled a Battlesphere scalper since I won my second copy in a recent silent auction. If anyone here is looking to buy Battlesphere I highly recommend not going the eBay route as Scatologic has been doing these silent auctions and you can pick it up pretty cheap - if you call 100$ cheap. It beats 200$ though. There is a big demand for Battlesphere but many people are just not up to checking Jaguar Interactive II every day to see when a silent auction begins and that is what you have to do if you want to get Battlesphere for a decent price. -

It is working too - looks like the new ebay price of Battlesphere is about 200$ - before Scatologic started this ebay price control thing it was hovering at 300$ to 350$ mark. -
One thing about UBB Forums, they take a few days to get used to but once that happens you rarely want to go back to anything else. I used to be hooked on JII style boards a long time ago until my forum went UBB and I have not looked back since.

Actually, according to my research Atari Karts normally goes for around 60 US on eBay though deals can be had for around 40 US if you are lucky.
-
Its a pretty good game - one of the better one of the Telegames releases.
-
The reason the price is so high is not because the game is any good but because it is so rare. It was only released in very small numbers and the odds of it ever being released again are very slim. As far as numbers of carts available, it is the rarest game out there. The only problem is the game sucks big donkey balls

OMG someone bought it http://cgi.ebay.aol.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.d...item=1328505370

All I have to say on this is thank god for Songbird. I have gotten every one of the Jaguar games. When that RPG comes out I will probably pick up a Lynx.
-
I think the Falcon was one of the last computers Atari made before they crashed.
-
If you ever forget again just go to google.com and type Space War 2000 guide and it will be the first thing that comes up.
-
The guide is here http://www.metalstuff.com/area64/jaguar/re...ar2000guide.htm

I watched the movie again last night - it was pretty cool. I played the game on the 3D0 and was not very impressed. I don't think the Jaguar community is missing much by not having this game.
-
The funny thing is I have this game but I have yet to play it. I think I am going to pop it when I get home.

Best place to get Jag stuff is on eBay. Another great place is the Goat Store http://www.goatstore.com

I just found this nice looking article http://www.diehardgamer.com/Features/Edito...gproto-02.shtml It goes through some of the JagFest 2K1 protos - it has some good screenshots.

This is the link I was looking for http://www.arenafan.com/news/?page=origcol&article=275 it looks like a cross between Supercross 3D and White Men Can't Jump

On JII they said it was a CD Developers Unit hookup to a Falcon PC (the only way you can develop for the CD unit I think). Just a connector.
-
Its worth 9 bucks but it is not that good. Its one of those games that was ported without using any of the Jags special abilities. Its just a port of a Genesis title I believe, with little or no improvements though I have read they say the sprites are bigger on the Jaguar version. Nothing anywhere near the quality of football games you get today, on par with the Nintendo and Sega versions of football that were out at the same time.

I like Protector better. Defender 2K has a good classic mode but I could never get into Plus or 2000. My next game is Protector SE.
-
It looks like Scatologic got sick of people cashing in on Battlesphere so they opened up the market a little and started auctioning them off. They would put multiple copies out and this would drop the price. I think they even sometimes wait for someone to put one out and then they will dump another couple out there and kill the price.
-
Maybe in the future but right now Songbird is working on Protector SE. Songbird also has the source code to Doom. I bet that one day Carl will get to these games but from what I have read from Carl on message boards is that it might be a while.

Some people have said that it was one of the worst games but I never thought that for a second. I really enjoyed Ruiner Pinball and played it a quite a bit. Its a great game, imo.

I have Iron Soldier 3 on the NUON. It is a great game - a huge improvement over 1 and 2.
-
The Jaguar game that I have probably the most time with would be Iron Soldier. I have also played quite a bit of Tempest 2000. I would say those two are my absolute favorites.
