Here is all my research into this subject http://dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/Console_...oper_Resources/ There is a lot more out there I am sure but this is a good start.

The only game that really comes close to pushing the Jag is Battlesphere. A lot of games look like they push the Jag because there frame rates drop horribly but its just poor programming. I really like Battlemorph for the Jag CD - it has great gameplay and great graphics for its time - I don't know how much it pushes the Jag though. Many Jaguar developers decided to use the 68000 Genesis like processor for a bunch of quick ports which is really sad because it land mines the Jaguar library with these games that are no better than a genesis version.
-
Thats a good question - I know there are PAL and NTSC Jaguars but are there PAL and NTSC versions of the Jaguar CD? I know that the Jaguar CD I have works with NTSC Jaguars but I have no idea if it works with a PAL one. No the CD unit does not have a box - its just the unit, power supply, and game - though the game has its cd case, overlay and its docs.

Nope - no one I know sells Flash Carts. They are very rare and very highly sought after items.
-
You take the Defender 2000 cartridge and insert it into the Jaguar cartridge slot, power the game up and have a play. There is no interface cable for the cart slot necessary to play normal games. You could not play Roms unless you had what is called a Flash Cart - and then I think you need some kind of burner - both are very rare and very expensive.
-
Battlesphere would not work on a CD. The CD and cartridge systems are programmed different. In order to get Battlesphere on CD the whole game would have to be rewritten.
-
No, Battlesphere plays just fine without JUGS. There is a bug at a super high level where you need JUGS to fix it, but I doubt you will ever get there. All the other games that are available for purchase work without JUGS.
-
Yup, the only version that is on an Atari System is a true statement. The Jaguar CD was the only Atari system that was capable of doing Dragons Lair, since it was the only one with a CD Rom drive.
-
I believe Dragons Lair was put out for just about any system that had a CD rom drive. The Jaguar version is not the only version of the game for sure.
-
You can buy Space War 2000 from B&C I believe.
-
Oh yeah, the elusive Atari Karts - I still do not have that one. I have had chances but I did not want to pay 60 plus dollars for it. Might end up having to.
-
Now that was a blast from the past!
-
That is a display disk. Its black with the eyes but does not have anything on it. I have seen a couple on eBay and I think one of the online stores sells it but I checked Best Electronics and Go Atari and could not find it. It does not have any demo on it.

Check out this thread at JII http://www.atarihq.com/interactive/messages/37792.html

Don't believe so. They did have some kiosks that were in places like Incredible Universe that were cool but they just played regular Jaguar cartridges.
-
I don't know if this helps but here is the Jaguar Technical Reference http://www.geocities.com/glenn_b18/jaguar/jagtrm.htm And here is a list of links to a bunch of developer resources, and I believe the programming manual is also available online but I don't have a link to it http://dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/Console_...oper_Resources/

Did any prototypes ever get made of that Tin Head game?
-
Albert, the admin of this forum actually bought the prototype T'bird sold on eBay a while back.
-
I have a rotary controller but its not sealed off or anything, the wires are all exposed. If you find someone that can build one for you maybe that person could fix mine.
-
I really can tell a difference between the regular and Pro controllers - the buttons feel a lot different and the Pro Controller is just more comfortable for me. Believe it or not, the most comfortable controller I have ever used is the Logitech NUON game pad. It has a problem with the analog stick not giving full motion (I dont care for analog anyway), but it just feels awesome in my hands - I could play for days.
-
I like the Pro Controller. It has a better feel to it than the regular Jaguar controller. I have never had a problem with the Jaguar controller and have found the large size fit my hands comfortably.

I like Protector better than Defender 2K. I actually never liked the 2K mode and wished the plus mode would have been more like StarGate. The only part of Defender 2K that I liked was the classic port of Defender which I thought was well done. Don't get me wrong, I love Yak games like Tempest 2K but for some reason the Defender 2K just did not do it for me. I like Protector better probably because its more like the classic Defender.
