  1. Gunstar is right, Primal Rage is also pretty rare, though no where near as rare as Air Cars. Primal Rage is also a much better game I got my Air Cars when Zenatak or whatever the guys name was liquidating on Jaguar Interactive II and I think I paid like 90 dollars for it. I have run across Primal Rage a few times for a decent price but only when it was part of a much larger collection that I was buying (the true secret to getting awesome deals on Jaguar games - buying collections).
  2. The only problem with devoting time to making a cat box clone is the functionality of it. It is really something that has very limited use do to the very few games that are available to be networked. Also, very few people try to use external monitors or need all the outputs that it provides. Sure, the cat box is cool, but it seems it just is not useful enough to have a large amount of time devoted to cloning it.
  3. << Originally posted by Gunstar: I have Primal Rage, complete except for the large outer box (just the case like the Jagcd pack-ins). I'll trade it for your copy of Aircars... I'm serious. >> I bet your serious Gunstar Aircars is more rare than Battlesphere - and there will probably never be anymore Aircars produced.
  4. I would take these 3 factors into account 1.) How available is the game? Is it regularly available through multiple online dealers or just 1. How often does the title show up on eBay. 2.) eBay price of a game. Though not always a rarity indicator it could be a valid percentage factor in some sort of formula calculation. Usually price is an indicator of a games popularity but it is also a factor in obtaining a game if the game is only available on eBay. 3.) Number of copies produced. Though almost impossible to know this about all games there are a number of titles that are known to have more copies than others. Example - post Atari Telegames releases - these were not produced in the numbers that were typical for an Atari produced game. Battlesphere, very limited quantities, Aircars, very limited quanitities. Space War 2000, made to order (they build them to order). Space Ace - limited quantities produced (though regularly available because the game sucked so bad), International Sensible Soccer - mainly distributed in Europe. I would use the above as factors in determining the rarity of the game beyond just how readily available they are currently. Its my opinion that if applied they will give you a more accurate rating that will not only be a better rarity indicator, but I believe the ratings will hold up better over time.
  5. Circumstansial evidence has been showing up on the Jaguar Interactive II board for a while now. I think the run has at least 50 units in it. They say are just waiting for the guy who is selling them (one of the Scatologic team) to get done with a project before it happens.
  6. I firmly agree with Albert. Its been noted by more than a few Jaguar developers that the system hardware had critical bugs that made it a pain to work with. I have also heard that it certainly was not the easiest system in the world to program for. The fact that it had a 68000 chip in it made a lot of developers just port Genesis games and not really utilize its power. The companies such as Llamasoft and Scatologic programmed the Jaguar how it was meant to be done - that is why those games are so much more advanced then lets say Zool 2 Syndicate Cannon Fodder Theme Park and many many others.
  7. It looks like Atari7800.com is back again. I really like the site before, and am glad to see the comeback attempt The New Atari7800.com
  8. The game that you could most compare Cybermorph to on the 3DO would be Star Fighter. The fact of the matter is that Studio 3DO had better programmers than Atari did. 3DO was able to push there system a lot farther than Atari was ever able to do. Star Fighter is much better than Cybermorph but they are both good games. Its really not fair to compare them as Star Fighter was released much later. A better comparison would be Star Fighter to Battlemorph. In this case, I would have to say that Star Fighter came out on top but that was against one of the few games that came out for the Jag CD. Sure Battlemorph was second generation being Cybermorphs sequel, but it was still a first generation game for the Jag CD. You guys are comparing Apples to Oranges. The Jaguar's true power was never even showcased by any game. The only game that even came close was Battlesphere.
  9. They have made this project open source.
  10. I personally think the UBB style forum, like this forum, is the best type of forum there is. I am used to Jaguar Interactive II but it would be so much better if it were on this type of forum, in my opinion. I like this place alot and I think of myself as a regular here - and it seems to get more traffic then some of the others.
  11. It looks Scatologics announcement of more games for sale soon has dropped the ebay market price of Battlesphere at least 100 bucks. It looks like its at abou 250$ One hundred dollars less than the 350$ it peaked out last month. Good news for Battlesphere buyers as another run will soon be available. It is also a coincidence that the new ebay price is the same that Battlephere Bob announced he would sell any customers (suckers) in the Jaguar Interactive II Forum I have seen Thunderbird posts that hint that he has been assembling cartridges - that is where he found that super rare race game he auctioned on eBay. BTW - if you want to buy Battlesphere to help the cause http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?V...item=1276824145
  12. Why is it you see very little information or questions about JII when its down. Look at all the posts there, where do those people go when its down for days? How come they don't discuss it on other forums? Pretty much the alternative forums I know about are. http://www.atariage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb...?ubb=forum&f=14 http://forums.atari.org/list.php3?num=7 http://forums.atari.net/cgi-bin/ubb/forumd...e=45&LastLogin= http://venus.beseen.com/boardroom/c/17653/ and sometimes Jag is mentioned at the NUON Forum http://www.nuontalk.tv/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi The Helper
  13. Thanks Gunstar but the 5200 controller I have is completely dead. None of the buttons work at all. The Helper
  14. My 4 port works with the 2600 adaptor. I have no idea whether its been modified or not, I am not the original owner. Now if I just had some freaking joysticks that worked
  15. Thanks for that review and guide Gunstar. Its much appreciated! The Helper
  16. Its NTSC only - you will have to mod you Jaguar to play the game. Gunstar can tell you how to do this (and did on JII I believe)I would not waste my time though - all of the Readysoft games for the Jaguar CD (Dragons Lair, Space Ace, and Braindead 13) suck with bad control, grainy graphics, and lockups.
  17. I really liked my 3D0 though - I was playing Road Rash and rocking out to the CD Quality music while everyone was playing Cybermorph. Theme Park on 3D0 was much better than the Jaguar Version - the developer just spent more time on it and stuffed all the fancy full motion video and sound effects on the CD. The 3D0 Street Fighter is better than any of the Jag Fighters (though the 3D0 controller did not handle street fighter well, you needed a special controller). Nothing on Jaguar compares to Starfighter. If you are comparing shooters, you should probably use Killing Time as a benchmark for the 3D0 - Doom and Wolfenstein for the 3D0 were not that good. The Jaguar did not have games like Panzer General II The Horde Star Control II Don't get me wrong, I like the Jaguar better than the 3D0 - but the 3D0 was nice to have, and I never regretted buying it. I just wish Atari had done more with the CD unit. We never really saw what the Jaguar could have done, or been.
  18. That VLM site is listed here http://dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/Console_..._Light_Machine/ The Helper - Links to all things Jaguar - http://dmoz.org/Games/Video_Games/Console_...tari/Jaguar_64/ [ 08-29-2001: Message edited by: The Helper ]
  19. One of the reasons I like the emulator is it will make it easy to play the underground Jag Games and demos that are available. I know you can do it by some JUGS or BJL or something like that - but I like the idea of just being able to play those games from my desktop, without having to plug in a bunch of cables and doing a bunch of work.
  20. The Jaguar Games have not been released into the Public Domain. The only thing that Press Release says is that Jaguar Developers do not have to get any OK's from Hasbro to put out games for the Platform. It does not mention anything about the Games themselves, which are probably all owned by there creators.
  21. I tried the Jagulator with the latest Drivers from 3DFX with my Voodoo 3 card and got mixed results. The games that did play ran very slow - very very slow. Most games locked up after the intro screens. I have not tried Flashback. I think its great to have emulator project going - I look forward to new releases and will try them all. I am not really worried about the Rom issues. I own almost all the Jaguar games so I am pretty comfortable running the roms on an emulator.
  22. On boxed games I usually charge the straight 3.50 that it costs for Priority Mail. I usually use Priority Mail boxes for that - I don't see why someone would want to use a .50 cents bubble mailer when the Priority Mail boxes are free. They offer better protection also (boxes will not get crushed), though my experience with mailing stuff in bubble mailers is they do not get messed up very often. I usually see the boxes get messed up when they are sent in a big envelope or something. If you have a tight bubble mailer they don't get damaged as much.
  23. Yeah but he charges 5.50 for shipping - that is crazy shipping and I refuse to pay it.
