Oh yeah baby - Playing Gorf would definitely get me to a dusting off my CD - or is it cart only?
-
Could any of you compare/contrast Protector SE with Data Storm (Amiga)?
The Helper replied to tamago's topic in Atari Jaguar
Its kinda pricey but a damn good game. Not played the SE version yet. -
I mean what can they do if you give all the profits to the cause. I would highly suggest a private preorder campaign first in the community to see how much you might be able to raise and still keep it on the Quiet. Bah! let them try to sue me for helping a good cause...after all it's only their PR status. I seriously doubt they give a rats ass.

What always worked for me was just blowing real hard into the cart to knock out the dust and the same in the Jaguar Cart port. Never had to use alcohol or erasers but maybe you might if blowing does not work.

Miracle Designs has not had a new product really since Miracle Racing for Nuon. All the PSX titles they put out after that were just Miracle Racing levels broken into like 3 different CDs. Even Miracle Racing was based heavily on Atari Karts.

Unfortunately Atari Karts usually goes for around $70 US and you will be hard pressed to find it for any cheaper. I have owned every Jaguar game at one time or another but never Atari Karts because I refused to pay 70 bucks plus shipping for it. It is just a damn elusive game if you are not willing to pay the cash for it.

Why are frame rates of Jaguar 3D games so low?
The Helper replied to agradeneu's topic in Atari Jaguar
From what I understand you are going to see the best use of the Jaguar's special chip power in Battlesphere and Tempest 2K. I am also sure that John Carmack got the best he could get in the limited time he was developing for the Jaguar in Wolfenstein 3D. Battlemorph also rocked hard and I imagine that was because of the long time experience the Cybermorph guys spent in the Jaguar world. -
Unfortunately I have already bought the original Protector so that won't happen again. However, it was a fantastic game and I am still going to buy the SE eventually. Just wanted to say thank you Carl for supporting the Jag community like you have. It is definitely appreciated even if it is only by a small subsection of the public.

I don't think that was the place. I got mine from an individual. My overlays are way different then those offered there. It could be the same people and maybe they have changed them since then. My star overlay was Battlesphere but I decided that when I sold the game that I should give the overlay with it since I wanted to give it the possibility of use. This place? http://www.1632-sales.zenwebhosting.com/ac...e_Overlays.html Shows all the obscure ones you mentioned.. too bad it's a european seller.. I don't like the exchange rates particularly...

I bought some overlays some years back from some website that a guy made for a bunch of games. They are actually pretty nice and I still have them. They are Atari Karts Towers II Skyhammer 2 Worms 2 Missle Command 3Ds (one for virtual and one for normal mode I think) Air Cars Theme Park Tempest 2000 Zero 5 2 Syndicates Iron Soldier 2 World Tour Racing A Black Jaguar 64 Bit I guess dust protector label. If I can ever get a scanner hooked up in here I will post some images if anyone is interested in seeing them. I don't know if the guy ever started selling them again. No, they are not for sale

If you use the SNES Power Adaptor it will fry your Jaguar completely. This has happened to a number of people.
-
I noticed them but did not know they were games. Love the little clue you put in your post though. Went back to that picture and thought yeah that is where I saw that before Its almost like I was playing Myst - LOL.
-
That is pretty damn cool. I love the way stuff like this seems to happen in the Jaguar Community. I hope some programmers get ahold of those and they just don't end up in completist collections gathering dust.

Ultra Vortek is a pretty good game as well in my opinion.

Its working for me but it is slow. Something is up for sure but probably just a server problem. Things like that happen.
-
Oops - should have searched first.

Its called Space Giraffe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPaFJQce1Sw From Jeff Minter. This is the latest evolution of Tempest 2000. Not too bad but I still get lost in it just like Tempest 3000. Also, if you watch the video to the second level, the square one, that reminds me so much of Breakout 2000. I have been doing a bunch of History reading and found a bunch of Jeff Minter's history on his llamasoft website. It is some pretty good stuff. Looks like Jeff is on with the XBox now. His VLM3 or Xeon is the visualization player in 360 just like VLM2 for the Nuon and the original VLM for the Jaguar.

I always like Battle Chess. A port of Battle Chess for the Jaguar would be something I would buy.
-
I looked for a while for you and had no luck. I did find this though http://typhoon.kuto.de/ and I got to read some good History on some other sites.

http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-ATARI-JAGUAR-ICD-...0QQcmdZViewItem And that is just the regular Battlesphere not even the Gold. Crazy.
-
Did you buy that from him on an auction? Did he give a flat Shipping price? When I used to sell I used to give a flat rate and sometimes made a few bucks on it. I would specify shipping was 10 bucks in the US or whatever so people just knew it up front.
-
I heard Wolfenstein was illegal in Germany because of the Nazi's? Germans used to buy Wolfenstein and pay big bucks back when I was doing the selling on eBay thing. I would be curious as to how much that one goes for.

skycopter and speedster 2 the rarest jag games?
The Helper replied to BuddyBuddies's topic in Atari Jaguar
I found some more digging deeper into the Author's site projects page and found where he mentions these games http://www.l4software.com/projects2.html at the bottom of the page. -
I played an official one back in the day at an Incredible Universe store. Very cool.
