  1. I think it is the kids factor. The Jaguar cartridge slot does not seem to want to stand up to a kid not being careful. I remember the first one he broke you could put the cartridge in and wiggle it like a loose tooth... Then I think the second one was a victim of some kid juice spill or something. I have had the same Jaguar since '95 - My lucky Jag
  2. My Jag CD experience has been different. They have held up really well. I have heard of broken ones though but not personally heard of any. I am very happy Dragonforce is working out this problem because though I would have sent him another Jag CD - it would have been my personal one. My other Jaguar owner friend has been through 3 regular Jaguars now. When I was ebaying to build my collection I gave him like 3 core units - I think he is on his last one.
  3. I don't think so. It is based on number of saves rather than age of game - I think.
  4. Try sticking in a music CD and see if the VLM comes up.
  5. Yeah - open the game. You should be able to find another sealed one if you really want it. The HoverStrike CD is pretty common and cheap on eBay.
  6. Well, you paid good money for it and if it does not work I am going to have to send you another. Luckily I still have one left.
  7. It's not working? Damn. When you put the CD in does is spin at all?
  8. I am real glad I posted this now. Lots of great information being laid out here. Time Warner had a stake in Atari and I am very glad that they seemed to take advantage of it up to a point. Though I am really curious as to why they did not put out these protos that you guys are talking about. They had to of sucked - or they would have been put out. That is the only logical conclusion I can come up with. Unfortunately, only a small few will ever be able to play the games to come to a conclusion on it... sad.
  9. Try to run the Dante game with your desktop resolution set to 640x480 and 256 colors. That is what alot of the older games ran in and switching from desktop display to what the game use can mess stuff up. Try that and see if that helps, and if it does not try setting other desktop display settings and see if that helps. At least it is something you can try. Advice from an old tech support dude - it won't hurt anything
  10. Forget Blue Lightning unless you just to want to have a demo disk with loud music. The game is a POS.
  11. Back in the day of Atari Time Warner and Atari had stakes in each other and Time Warner put out some games. I personally think they were both quality games - yeah only 2 I think came out - but they were Primal Rage and Power Drive Ralley. As some around know I have been selling off my Jag Collection due to my poorness but I found a full Jag CD setup in a box, broke out my for sale Primal Rage and had a go. Fun, fun. The Setup I found had a Pro Controller included. I knew I had the stash Did Time Warner put out any other games? I know they were involved with Vid Grid - for the artists - am I missing any? Power Drive Ralley is also another hidden Gem. One of the top 10 Jag Games imho.
  12. I am holding the Jag CD for you until you get the money. Its already packed and ready to go. The only things that are gone are Protector (yes Tony they cashed your money order) and the Jag CD (that is for you Dragonforce) I still have all the rest. I want around 60 for Worms I'd like to get 40 for Breakout 40 for the Primal Rage I don't know for the Doom and Rayman - make me an offer there. As for the memory track I won't let it go for less than 20. I found a whole Jaguar and CD setup in a box and I am going to keep that so unless I can get 20 for the memory track i am keeping it. I also came across a S-Video cable and a Jag Link - if you guys are interested in those make me an offer.
  13. Atari was lucky with some of the developers it had on its payroll - Jeff Minter, this guy, John Carmack, the Virtual Fighter guy (Fight For Life French Guy) but too bad it did not blossom into what it could have been. I am sure that Wolfenstein and Doom did well as they came out in the AVP and Tempest Heyday but there is no way that even with 300k sold they can compete with the millions Nintendo does with there titles. There were just not enough Jaguars sold even though almost everyone must have had an AVP if they numbers in that interview were right
  14. Don't forget the hidden 2600 game in Pitfall - they would have had to have some kind of emulator for that.
  15. The Jag did 2D well and had the hardware for it. Jag Quake would not have been GL or 3D enhanced but I bet it could have been done and done well. I don't think it would have ever been mentioned if it was not possible. I think people are confusing what they would see on the Jag - it would be the non 3D version. The Jag just does not have any 3D hardware. Would have been nice to have seen them try that though.
  16. Check out http://www.project404.org/ The man to talk to is Chile - Tell him I sent you.
  17. Might only be good for spare parts - if that.
  18. Yeah, don't try to use a Nintendo one either.... Poof!
  19. Too bad they never took me up on the offer to host there board a few years ago. We have been doing the NUON-Dome forum for a while now with no problems. At least there is this forum and the Atari Explorer one. In the past there were very few alternatives...
  20. I have a Jag CD without a power supply that I will sell for 70 bucks. It is not that cheap but probably less than you will find it on eBay.
  21. OK guys here are the cherrys of what I have left of my Jaguar collection. Nothing spectacular but here goes I got Primal Rage CD - has the box and plastic on it but the box is kinda squashed Worms good condition - complete Doom complete - good condition (includes overlay) A telegames gem - Breakout 2000 - complete - good condition Protector - The first one. complete - good condition Rayman - complete - good condition I also got a Jag CD no powersupply. and the last thing is a Memory Track (cartridge only) I will accept offers for a couple of days before I go to eBay. I can only do money orders right now - my Paypal is FUBAR. Shipping is actual cost. I have eBay feedback http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?...page=367&de=off
  22. I might have an extra Doom overlay hanging around. PM me if you are interested.
