  1. Dubstep was invented in Croydon and is essentially two-step garage with a dub vibe. The heavier US/brostep style is a result of Rusko adding a bit more distortion to the mids then it being taken (in my opinion) too far to the noisy mainstream mess it has become. There's very little focus on the sub-bass. The original/UK style was made for large soundsystems and to push the equipment and has quite a dark vibe. I think the main difference is that brostep tries to fill space, original dubstep tries to explore it. This will clear it up for everyone http://www.musicforastronauts.net/?p=341
  2. Thanks again dude, your help is very much appreciated I'll let you know how I get on.
  3. Hello chaps, I'm a dubstep DJ/Producer. I think you're listening to the wrong dubstep. This is closer to original dubstep than what you guys know as dubstep (which is affectionately known as 'brostep' to the dubstep community): Phaeleh - Afterglow Unquote - Cold Tenderness (Original Mix) Nanobyte - Kalyke To truly appreciate what dubstep is about it's worth checking these mixes out: http://www.mixcloud.com/phaeleh/phaeleh-kmag-mix-feb-2011/ http://soundcloud.com/deepheads/versa-rowl-dubstep-for-deep It's a genre that's almost become a characture of itself thanks to Skrillex, Rusko, Excision et al.
  4. Amazing, that would be very much appreciated Thanks amiman99
  5. Hi! I bought an SD2IEC (+ daughterboard) from NKC Electronics to save MSSIAH sequences and patches on to for writing music. However I seem to be having a bit of trouble saving to the device. I have tried to access the device on the C64's homescreen (display a list of files on the device) and that seems to have no trouble. When trying to save files or read the directory in MSSIAH I just keep getting errors. As I say I'm a bit of a n00b so any help would be very much appreciated
