When I was first collecting, I remember finding a couple of these in the bottom of the box from a lot I purchased off Ebay. I also remember throwing them away because I didn't now what they were. 😱😱

Oh no, do you have any of these suckers now?

beyond the fact that the gatefolds are so nice to begin with,  I've collected atari for years and I've never actually had a hex disk despite owning a few dozen cx10s, wild score

Almost all of them fell off the controllers and the majority of them were thrown away. Don’t fret not finding any, one day when you’re not expecting it will happen. I think Bill has 2 Atari and 1 Sears. If you have boxed games go through each manual , look at your consoles, controllers front and back. Keep looking I’m sure you’ll strike Atari gold.

I was searching completed eBay a bit and stumbled across the sell.  I didn’t buy it but whoever did got an amazing deal.  Besides having the original sleeve (which is unbelievably rare) check out what’s stuck to picture 6!   This is one incredible pickup!

I picked the game up awhile back just for the hang tab. I only looked at  the first picture and if it wasn’t for you I would have never found those Atari hex discs. I owe you now thanks! Maybe I should start looking inside my boxed games lol. Now I have both Atari and Sears sets. I’m going to keep both the Atari hex discs on the manual instead of a cx-10 sort of an 80s time capsule. Do you go through every page of your manuals? I’m guessing yes.

Man, cant be many sealed copies of that left! Its pretty hard just to get a box period!

Yeah you’re right you never see them sealed  and rarely cib, it’s definitely a museum piece. I bought it off eBay yrs ago and didn’t realize it was sealed until I looked at it today.

Personally I would buy sealed if I could than cib. Loose carts I didn’t care about unless they were super rare like air raid etc.

  5. I saw your speedway 2 and that’s a holy grail unto itself with maybe just a handful in existence. You don’t find very many Sears sealed games and the hangers on 99.99% of the gatefolds were probably torn off and trashed. I have one also.

Is your Atari hex disc a reproduction looks pretty bright? You’re Sears one looks right.

Assuming it's 500 of each (which it's likely not) of the 3 main NTSC titles, I don't think you could quickly find that many people to buy them at a price anyone would be happy with as a seller looking for a return on a $15k investment. I could easily see someone getting stuck trying to break even on a pile of leftovers by the time you sell a few hundred sets at most. The market would flood and not recover for years before you could sell them for a decent amount again when offering up 500 copies of 3 mid range rarity titles. Best thing going for them is they are naughty games. The novelty of that never wears off.

With all the risk involved I wouldn't see this as a wise purchase for anything more than $5k to $7k tops.

    You’re spot on!
