I was thinking the same thing . That’s exactly what they did. Follow the money they had to make it more mass appealing.

I have seen a handful over the years, probably around 5 and i think only chuck. Dont remember seeing any used for double ender carts. The variant has been known for some time though. It was in the dp guide probably over 20 years now.
They likely are early samples for the single enders that just got out there...unlikely a true sales run.
They are a cool mystery/oddity
If you could give me a link for digital press where they are talking about it I would appreciate it. I didn’t know these were known 20 years ago.

Both of those are extremely tough to get you can go years without seeing them boxed.

1 hour ago, stupus said:The strange thing about the pink chuck label is that its a double ender label cut in half and applied to a single ender.
Since we know the double enders came first its strange how these alternate labels got made, nit used on the double enders and then cut and used on single enders.
I wonder if they were used as early single ender labels and that they used old double ender labels that they had originally decided not to use for the double enders.....very puzzling....
Seems like i remember old ads that used pink instead of yellow for their color scheme.
Even though the double Enders went into production first they probably had prototype examples of the single ender at the same time. My guess is that xonox had made these preproduction and someone in marketing changed their mind on the labels and went with blue. If it was an early release you should be seeing more examples. I think this single ender is the only one I’ve ever seen like it. It’s definitely a mystery.

When it arrived however I was impressed by how nice the set was. Looks like it’s hardly been touched. I love the brochure though. Can’t recall ever seeing one before. It’s dated 8/77 so it’s pretty early.
Nice pickup you have a good eye for sears variants

I think I’ve seen 3 pink double Enders over the years and I believe they all had chuck Norris as a common denominator. Maybe these were a prerelease label prototype like you said. I may have to play and compare to see if there’s any difference in the code.

Nice pickup of the Texas chainsaw and chase the chuck wagon both very collectible boxed games. Before you open your next really rare sealed game send me a pm and maybe we can do a trade.

Looking at the xonox press kit they did have some pink on their cartridges and boxes but maybe these were just prototypes? The one I have looks different from the press kit so maybe some kind of early label variation?
This one stumps me so I’ll have to go with R4 but could go much higher. Usually I can come fairly close on rarity but not this one.

I recently picked that bad boy up coming back from Montana with my wife and daughters. The guy held it for me in Oklahoma City for about 2 weeks on my way back. It’s made of really strong styrofoam and it’s double sided. The guy I bought it from picked it up in college in the 1990’s. It may have been in the iconic John A Browns family owned department store that had a huge Atari presence. It has four holes in the corners so it was definitely hanging at a business back in the late 70’s early 80’s. It might be a one of a kind I have never seen anything like it.

A couple years ago I let a double ender cib go because my games were packed away and didn’t realize I didn’t have it. Did I say that I hate xonox lol. It’s really the hardest third party to collect for cib I think 🤔.

14 minutes ago, stupus said:Thanks!!!! Its definitely a hard one!
I will never get over how many of these loose single ender carts show up....but never the boxes!
That’s true kind of like up n down. I really hate xonox it shouldn’t be this difficult unfair

I still need 3 boxes, too bad its not the ones you have 2 of or i would be begging you for some help lol
So I used to have an extra boxed chucknorris single ender but I traded that with ntavio. At the time I didn’t have tigervision espial boxed so I told him to buy one that was on eBay and I’ll do the trade. I didn’t hear back from him for about 2-3 weeks and another cib espial pops up on eBay so I bought it. Later he still wanted to do the trade so now I have two cib espials. We both shipped them to each at the same time.
I keep an eye out for you on eBay and if I get one I’ll give it to you for what I paid for it.

1 hour ago, Psionic said:I have the Atari cartridge and Commodore diskette versions of Flip and Flop, both complete in box. The former lacks a media format sticker whereas the latter one has a blue one. The stickers for the Atari versions should actually be red as seen here.
Both versions of my boulder dash are sealed. The diskette version has a red sticker and the cartridge version of boulder dash appears orange. Neither flip and flop have any stickers. I would like to see the blue sticker ones but they might just be pricing tier stickers if they don’t say Atari. Atari may have used different sticker colors based on media type?
