  2. So i just went out on a limb and bought the game Xenophobe.I went out on a limb because i looked the game up but i cant really tell as to what type of game it is i know action but it kinda looks like a flashback type game were you collect items and such.So is this game worth the $20 i payed for it is there fun to be had with the game what is the plot line if any. Finally is the game straight out any good ?Thx for any advice on this.
  3. Hi this is my first post here in the 2600 forums.I just recently started to collect 2600 games it all started in 1994 with the atari Jaguar i collected for that system and absolutley loved it as time went by they went under and games became how do you say very exspensive. So with the new babies and all i no longer could afford to collect for the Jaguar and went on to cheaper systems sega saturn,Dreamcast mainly. So i put my Jaguar into a storage unit and time when on in 2002 i took a long needed break from collecting and went on raising my family and playing very seldomly.Around 2008 I took the Jaguar out and started collecting for it again i loved the thrill of the hunt finding those rare jaguar games having it out at auctions. Finally breaking down and buying the cd unit to the jaguar i found myself collecting the small but nice commercial list of games for the jaguar.Once i reached my collection peak with the Jaguar i was left feeling bored i didnt like the style of games on newer systems it seemed alot of the fun factor was lost in time as the xbox ps3 and wii came out just kept getting more annoyed by the lose of interest in games those systems had to offer. So when i joined atari age and jaguar sector 2 forums i found myself becomming interested in other atari systems so i got a 7800 being amazed at the games the system had to offer i found myself feeling the fun factor again as i started to buy more and more games for the 7800 i took advantage of its 2600 capatability and bought some games i remember from childhood like Battlezone,Gorph, and surrounded. In this moment i knew that the hunt was back on i love the thrill of finding my childhood games sitting back late at night while the kids are in bed and jammin some Gorph.Currently i am still collecting for the 7800 trying to get my quota in the games i am interested in.As for the 2600 i keep picking up more and more games double and triple what i do for the 7800 not to mention the 7800 dosent have a large library of games like the 2600 did to me i love the thrill of getting those games sitting back and reliving the joy i once had with them.To me i cant seem to fit in with todays gaming as many of us on these forums do we love the retro scene. Now i have just recently won a lot of 2600 games on ebay and i have a game called Tunnel Runner i played it tonight for the first time and was just amazed at how great that game was specially for its time of debut. That is one question i would like to know on the cartridge label it says Ram Plus i am asuming it has added ram to it.What is this for?Storage or graphics? In any event i am very very happy with it.So now im up to around a small collection of 40, 2600 games and 25, 7800 games not that many but a nice start and i am loving it ^^ .As for my Jaguar collection i still collect for it but the titles i am missing are those one's that are so elusive only time will tell if you get it or not.Well this is my story of how and when i started collecting 2600 games.
  4. Very nice flying i have had trouble getting the hang of this game but reading the criteria list its coming together alittle more.I just bought the Super Huey game!I liked how they had the options in it to go to flight school, reality mode and arcade mode were you can just go in on the action.I got like 92 kills on it today before being taken down.I am finding new life in the atari 7800 it really is becomming some what of a addiction with me now all though i would love to get my hands on a modded controller. As the controller i got with my 7800 the yok on the actually controller is very lose so when you press down it keeps going down lol.Is there any good advice for material to put into the controller to tightn the yok up i took it apart and cleaned it up re-assembled it and still it moves a bit better but lose as heck.I am really looking foward to getting my Failsafe game in cant wait.Well any advice on rebuilding my 7800 controller would be helpful as i only have one and like three 2600 controllers which dosent help me on certain games were i need both the buttons.
  5. Ya its true Doomwaves i will shoot you a copy of the doom 2 rar i have.
  6. Oh and i forgot to say yes for that game to be 2600 the F-14 simulator it is very impressive with the graphics.I also wanted to ask were would i be able to find diffrent controller varations i heard there were ones that resembled that of the NES i would love to get my hands on those im haveing a hard time getting used to the original 7800 controllers.
  7. Ya i tookl a look at the cartridge base and sure enuff it does have the extra pins what is this for eeprom ?Anyway mine has the extra pins and says 2600 mode on the cartridge label I pressed reset to start the game but i am unsure of how to get off the carrier im going to take a read on the AA forums for the manual i appreciate everyones help with this as i am just now getting back into the 7800 scene.I can tell you this i was very very impressed with the games called Failsafe i tryed it last night all i can say is what a wonderful job they did with that game.I really was wanting to try the bently bear game but i am unsure were so to download it at or is this game even done yet.I tryed the Failsafe game and ordered it promptly i am glad to see homebrewers still makeing games for this system. It would be so nice to see a turn base RPG come out for the 7800 ahhh one can dream lol.
  8. Added some new items and a nice $50 book that i cut 60% down on price nice web hacking book if your interested ^^.
  9. Great thx for the info man i just tested it works like a charm i would have never figured that out lol.I like the game thus far i can tell i need a bit of practice on it though.I have just recently been getting into the 7800 and i am loving it.Brings me back.Thx for letting me know were to find the manuals and all. Also i didnt know there were 2 diffrent versions of the game. What are the diffrences between the 2600 mode and 7800 modes i have the 2600 mode.Does the 7800 include diffrent maps etc.Or is the graphics just a bit better?
  10. Well been looking to exspand my 7800 collection so been doing some digging here and there and came up on a copy of Tomcat the F-14 fighter simulator. Its in great shape hooked up the ole 7800 loaded it and everything is fine however i cant seem to start the game. This is were my problem comes in so i decided to check a few more of the titles i bought all the 7800 titles work flawlessly however when i use 2600 titles the games will load to the title screen only it wont allow me to start them.So i figured ok maybe its because i need a 2600 game controller i was almost positive that was the case but when i hooked the 2600 controller up i got the samething boots straight to the title screen and thats it.So how would i remedy this did i happen to run up on the few games that wont work for the 7800?The games are Jurney Escape,Oinks,Tomcat F-14,and Skyjinx.I couldnt get any of these to actually play all will load fine just cant start them if anyone could point me in the right direction here i would appreciate it thx ^^.
  11. Watching this video makes me wonder how many people it deturred and i can see a few right here posting things about these great games.Battlemorph for its day was a great game huge eviroments set plot line and great missions. These guys take the controller fly in a big circle and run into the mountains over and over and decide to call it crap wow how about actually playing the game before you call it crap.Hoverstrike really this game marveled many of its day and these two grab the controller and again call it crap because they cant decipher things on the actual radar (What do we do were do we go what do we shoot at).How about read the mission status and look at the radar.Highlander while not being the best was pretty dam good for a early release of a 3 part scenerio game ya the controlls take some getting use to but running amok and in big circles hardley quilifies as the game being craptacular.Highlander was a unique game and i thought it was the start of a great series to bad they never finished it.It kinda burns me up to see two influential gamers tearing into the Jaguar and these games when there not even trying to play them they just connect the game go in circles and call it crap. Now you see people comming on the same forum who are stating um ya ive never played them but there crap i bet 99% agree thats BS man.It just goes to show how they already decided that the Jaguar cd unit and games were shit before they even tryed it.I thought the games were great becouse i actually played them and gave the games a fair shake were as these two hook the games up and call it crap before even trying amazing.Sad how people can and will deturr others from playing these great games this is just my opinion.Anyway i loved the Jaguar cd unit while not being the best it showed some nice releases in my opinion and has a die hard hombrew fanbase.

  16. I didnt think that AvP was overrated at all for the time it was a great survival horror type simulation game.I remember back in the day loving how you could get the information from the computer terminals and all.I think it was on the fifth floor were in the labs you could use the terminals to replinish energy and such if it was under 50%.Also i liked how you could read all the other creature Bio's that the marine scientists have came into contact with made the whole AvP universe come together a bit.All in all i think for its time of debut that this game definatly earned a spot in history and should be considered one of a kind.
