  1. And OG Xbox homebrew: Good luck on the release Carl/Songbird
  2. This thread recaps well... 2 direct sequels and 1 spiritual successor off top of my head ... but the Nuon could play my Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider DVD 😜. Take that 32X and Jag
  3. Thanks for posting! Now ... only MK3 and Quake left to debunk 😜😁 I do find the OpenLaura project possibilities fascinating when you see it running on 32X & GBA. Congrats to XProger for the many recent successes.
  4. Late reply here... What's the end goal for this? Hearing profile ... you typically don't want to get online (to XBL) using a modded system.
  5. @TheCoolDave Agreed on Phil. Guarantee the preservation scene will be hard at work grabbing these game files over the next year. They'll be preserved and working on a modded xbox 360, just wish they were accessible for the masses. There was a decent amount of DLC for the OG Xbox that is now only playable on a modded system (even the PS2 has some). This will be a similar scenario. Unfortunately, the 360 isn't as easy to mod as the OGX.
  6. Interesting to see Phil Spencer address this. https://www.purexbox.com/news/2023/08/phil-spencer-would-love-to-find-solutions-for-xbox-360-games-being-delisted-in-2024
  7. Exactly where my mind was going... earlier CoD games. Also, for Game Pass Core, they announced 19 of 25 games available for "free." Interested to see what fills out the list. I was hoping for some Activision BC announcements but runway getting short now (9/15 IIRC).
  8. Seeing this be a year out, I'm thinking we see another round of BC titles tied to ABK acquisition. Here's the reported list of 220 games being delisted from 360 market place. This doesn't count games with physical copies. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/analysis-more-than-220-digital-games-will-disappear-when-the-xbox-360-store-closes/ I didn't overly check these. Several listed have other newer XB releases such as RE, RE0, Xevious. ... I really need to buy Rez HD. That's a standout to me.
  9. The Linux option on the PS3 was how the system was first cracked. Sony then removed this. Funny... because they advertised this as a feature, there was legal implications (class action suit?). So don't expect Linux on PS5 😎. There was an officially released PS2 Linux kit though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_for_PlayStation_2
  10. Dang. Hate to see the inner plastic degrading. Worth noting the YouTuber above was at some point involved with Nostalgia Nerd ( https://youtube.com/@Nostalgianerd ), who seems plugged into the UK retro scene. He reviews a lot of obscure hardware & may know who owns that working VR unit reviewed. ... also, what company went on to make another VR headset that looked a lot like the Jag VR or maybe shared some heritage? Recall someone attempting to sell one recently described incorrectly.
  11. That's true, but not as an add on to your own system. There's no one to protect themselves from on their locked down system. There's rumors the next "PS5 slim" iteration will be smaller without a disc drive, with an attachable drive option. My guess... if Sony does it, MS/XB will follow. Worth noting I've heard a few times the Series S has a higher Game Pass attach rate which logically makes sense. They're liking holding off as the main goal right now is to sell monthly subs.
  12. Didn't he have to hold the final build of the game hostage, demanding owed payment before releasing to Atari? Or is that another Jag game? Had that story associated with Bertrand in my head 🤔
  13. This really grabbed my attention on the DF stream/interview. Thanks for the follow up post. For those getting ready to drool over the AvP frame rate improvement, unfortunately the enemies move way too fast without additional, substantial work. The original enemy AI and speed was configured with the original, slower frame rate in mind. Still amazing to see all these!
  14. Thanks for this comment! My newer Windows 11 machine is dedicated to work ... personal machines are Chromebook & old Windows 8.1 box ... I just assumed the software wouldn't work. Going to try now.
  15. @ls650 thanks. Haven't DLed or navigated his site. That looks like 50 titles... quick scan refreshed my memory it was 50 vs 52 carts. Being... 44 standard releases + 5 extended support Telegames cart releases + Air Cars ... This is amazing. Only titles with caveats look to be Doom & VD Ski.
  16. This is a huge win. Has any1 (or collectively) tested all retail/licensed 52 cart games? What official releases are not working? Interested to see if any Jag cart games are now not able to be emulated between BPE, Pheonix, & VJ as options.
  17. Man... this was fast. Was thinking this would take years or some hardcore sideloading method on PC. Amazing to see. Was just thinking I needed to try Pheonix & buy this collection... add this to the list. Hope his health gets better.
  18. I wouldn't speak definitively to this happening but it sure seems like where there's smoke, there's fire for both Sony & MS... Sony is rumored to offer a detachable disc drive in '23: https://insider-gaming.com/new-playstation-5/ Here's the patent info I linked in another AA thread for the XB side: Microsoft has plans for an Xbox Series S external disc drive: https://www.techradar.com/news/microsoft-has-plans-for-an-xbox-series-s-external-disc-drive ... I think both companies are waiting on the other. Make no mistake... the main objective of the Series S is a more affordable method to get more ppl into the XB ecosystem & increase the blast radius to sell more Game Pass subs. I don't think a detachable disc drive realistic hurts this much... Also, physical media drives foot traffic into retailers... thus selling more consoles. Chicken & egg. Selling the digital only versions of consoles is a strange paradox for retailers... this attachment could satisfy both sides.
  19. Great to hear the emu is solid. Was waiting on feedback. Been out of pocket for a bit, but scanning thread... looks like emulator did not originate from Project Tempest, correct? Just a coincidence it ran T2K first? For the CRT talk vs this collection on modern LCDs... a CRT took ~16 ms to draw a full screen at 60 Hz or ~8 ms in center. It was "zero lag" at top (not overall, common misconception) & now we standardized to measure this in middle of screen. Many LCDs are right there or better. Mine is ~11 ms vs CRT ~8. Enjoy the games without worry lol. You eyes won't even notice that as it's 1 frame/fps.
  20. @alucardX Not at all. Can play Doom & Wolf all day. I also enjoy early 3D poly games. I can go deep sea fishing in choppy waters ... yet this ones sub 10 fps makes my brain hurt though lol 😆
  21. Was this post/screenshot here from AA or Atari IO? Just getting around to digging in further.
  22. Came to post that KV3. Was strange to see IGN post about the Jaguar in 2022 today lol. At 9 games... we're almost up to 20% of the cart library 😎
  23. Thanks guys. Will have to give that podcast a listen. Interesting on all fronts. Also typo on my part. Previous reference to BFA used commercially was meant to be FBA* = Final Burn Alpha.
  24. Not doubting you, but how did we get this knowledge? I've used the T2K emu before in my testing so just curious. Usually the original emu group gets a licensing fee, thinking of BFA being used in a commercial setting on retail releases. Although T2K emu was much more of an unfinished product comparably.
