  1. updated to include Shark, Shark 2 (I didn't Know I had it until today.)
  2. I did, but it threw me off when they came in an Inty 3 Box. That is great! I prefer alphabetical so I can see right away if I am missing something. Thanks
  3. If the SyQuest is your boot Hard drive, yes you will need to write to each disk for booting as you will not want to eject the boot drive with TOS running. The best setup for SyQuest drives is as a storage/backup device to another HD. Best has new 340 mb HD drives that drop into the Mega STE without mods for $75. http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/hard-dri.htm You could also get a SCSItoSD and install it inside. https://store.inertialcomputing.com/category-s/100.htm
  4. The case looks alright, but needs the internal ribbon cable with the 50 pin IDC on the inside and two 50 pin Centronics on the outside. The ICD interface can be hard to find. I found these awhile back but have never used one before. With this unit you might be able to forgo the above cable and make one that works with this unit and that case. https://shop.inventronik.de/index.php?id_product=12&controller=product&id_lang=2
  5. 2 Happy 1050s, XF351, XF551, Indus GT with ramcard. On the left, Percom, The rest of the drives go to the ST Line. The ATR8000 is not connected in that picture. Been like that for years and I have had no problems with them.
  6. I made a 720K drive out of the original board on an XF551 and the Hyper-XF OS a few years ago. You can see it in this picture. I always called mine the XF351, not knowing there was actually a proto-type for it. They are nice
  7. Yea that drem is expensive. I bought one anyway a couple years ago. It is nice that it covers multiple HD and Floppy drives. While I was playing with it, I was trying to get the largest RLL virtual drive It could make. I accomplished it and put two 400 MB+ virtual drives inside a Mega File 30. I found the larger you make the virtual drive the slower it goes. Smaller drives work just fine, but that does not appeal to me, so I gave up on it.
  8. With all this time at home, I started the slow process of building a storage tower for my ST's, since I have one for my 8-bit, you can read about it here. Now, before you get in a twist about using such ancient storage vs the device that Lotharek sells, keep in mind I am retro-computing they way I like to retro, and you can retro anyway you like and it won't bother me. It all began when I got my first Megafile 44 2 or 3 years ago. I added 2nd drives to them and later changed that second drive to a SCSI2SD, you can read about it here. I then got larger capacity drives that are supposed to be backward compatible. They are, for the most part. I soon discovered that I cannot format a 44mb disk in an 88mb drive or a 200mb drive. Same goes for an 88mb disk in a 200mb drive. They read, write and partition just fine, but fail when you try to format, at least with HDDRIVER 11.0. So I built an ST Storage tower to help alleviate the problem with one of each of the drives. The case was brand new and cost about $100. All drives are connected to the rear drive unit selectors, except for the EZ135 as the drive select pins are on the bottom and the SCSI2SD as you set the SCSI number in the firmware of the device. I set all the SCSI2SD partitions to be TOS 1.04 compatible as I have STs, an STE, a TT and 2 Falcon computers this could be used on. The SCSI2SD device's activity light is connected to the next space down that is closed off so I can see activity on it. I tested the audio out on the cd and it works just fine. Take a look:
  9. Everything in "Games for Your Intellivision"'s post is correct. We do not, and have never had any bad feelings about the "Breakup". The games I recently found, Elektronite will sell to US customers and I will ship out until gone. And in the immortal words of the announcer on M*A*S*H, "That is all.."
  10. I have 4 of the v 5.0b as these use micro SDs. I think they work great, but you will need termination power if you want to use it as an external device. Or pair it up with something that provides termination power, like a SyQuest drive or physical hard drive. This is what I do. I believe there is another version that provides termination power. I cannot compare it to Lotharek's device as I do not own one. These are fast though. I am not sure about using it to transfer from PC to Atari. I tried to test with HDDriver 11, but apparently you have to run Mint or Magic to access PC partitions? I do not run either, so was not able to test. I may also be doing something wrong with setting the partition up too. I use a NetUSB and the UIPTool to transfer files and therefore do not need to transfer via the SD card.
  11. I bought this unit. It does work well, but does not have the 48k upgrade. $50 was still a good deal for in the box.
  12. a misaligned drive is beyond my skills. I hope you find a way to recover the data.
  13. I would also do a file by file copy myself. And to answer your question regarding daisy chaining, yes you can hook up two megafiles in the manner you suggest. I currently have one set as the boot drive and a Mega File 44 connected on it afterwards. After that, on the same chain, is a CosmosEX. I have also connected a SyQuest EzFlyer 135 using a Link2 (ACSI to SCSI adapter) after a megafile in the past.
  14. Burger Time was another for me. Understanding how the badies move is key. When Super Chef came out with 69 levels, that threw me for a loop for a little while.
  15. I ran it through twice in one sitting. It only takes a couple hours to get through it once. Once you get the book that allows you to go through walls, you do not have to open any doors. Easy.
  16. Dungeons and Dragons Treasure of Tarmin. I have run the 256 levels through a few times. You do end up at the top again.
  17. @zzip Interested if it does, let me know what you want for it too.
  18. @H454 I thought about that too. I just wanted to see if there was anything immediately available here.
  19. @ijor The resistor packs were in place on the SCSI2SD itself for all the testing that I did. One thing I did not try, was to put an external resistor pack on the second port on the back of the case. I came up with this on the drive in to work today. I'll try it at home tonight.
