New adventure game : MARIA big box numbered
SoulBuster replied to tanuki's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Got my notification. -
Oh I guess there is a little more to solder. There are three resistors that you have to tie to +5v. But the Instructions are very clear on which ones and how to do it. You just need to melt the solder and pull one end out of the board, solder a single wire to all three (they are right next to each other) and solder the other end to +5v.

Yes. The computer cannot tell the difference? Use this program to check it. https://sites.google.com/site/stessential/system-tools/sysinfo and this program to run several loops of testing https://www.atariuptodate.de/en/1755/gembench

Best Electronics has them for sale. They are in the San Francisco area. Scroll down on this page or search "Marpet" http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/520_1040.htm For the alt-RAM I think you are right. In order to use the alt-RAM you may need TOS 2.06. However, there are Marpets that do not require it (i.e. no alt-RAM). I have three without alt-RAM, one is installed in a 1040STF and using TOS 1.04. Just ask before you buy if TOS 2.06 is required. There is one wire that you need to ground. I tinned it (solder on the tip) so it would not fray and then screwed it down to ground. Other than that, it is plug and play as long as the shifter is socketed.

Mega ST2. This one works well. It has TOS 1.02. The floppy does read but the eject has a problem. I will upgrade the memory to 4 megs. -

39 1 meg simms. Al of them worked too. -
Just an observation. I do not use market place as there are too many items that I have absolutely no interest in to stumble over in there. Or; something gets posted in marketplace and then another thread (or post) is made outside marketplace pointing to it. So is it better to start a thread in the Intellivision forum selling something, or start thread in the Intellivision forum pointing to a thread in marketplace. I do not know. If there were a marketplace for Intellivision only Items Pinned at the top of the Intellivision forum, that would be better. I would use it.

Also check the pinned post at the top of this forum. There a lot of links to Hardware and Software.

Megafile 30s, 60s, SH204 and SH205 I believe all used Winchester drives that required a bridge controller card. The Controller card in the MF30 and MF60 was Atari's version of the Adaptec Bridge controller card (ACSI in and ST506 data and control cables out). I have never owned the SH204 or SH205, but I think they had Real Adaptec Bridge controller cards in them, but the same result as MF30 and MF60. Atari did make a true ACSI to SCSI device, the Megafile 44. The SCSI controller card in the units have two SCSI connectors that you can attach true SCSI devices, like the SyQuest 44 drive. Two SCSI ports inside with one free allowed installation of a second device. It is difficult to add a real hard drive because of the space limitations, but it has been done by me and others. Here is a thread on 2 MF44s that I added a SCSI2SD card. I am able to get 1 gig formatted with two 500 meg partitions with TOS 1.04. That along with a SyQuest drive in the same unit. Be aware when using Atari's MF44 controller board limits you to 1 formatted drive per port (2 max), so you are limited to 1 gig on each port. One of the MF44s I added a SCSI2SD card allows 4 formatted drives. limiting me to 4 gigs. This is because someone (not me) had replaced the guts with an ICD AdSCSI, which is not limited like the Atari board. https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2292&hilit=tim There is a manufacturer of an ACSI to SCSI Card available for purchase here: https://shop.inventronik.de/index.php You can strip out the guts of MF30, MF60, SH204, SH205, or even a MF44, add this device and put real SCSI devices in your Atari Case. You can even use it to build your own case. Very sweet device!

Losing $80 is really insignificant to me, it is just the point of the matter. It does not make me who I am. On the other hand, him not paying shows who he really is.

Over 1000 game adaptations in single file
SoulBuster replied to ParanoidLittleMan's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Like Bikerbob, I want to help out and test the games you have carefully and lovingly modified to work from HD, but I am in hardware hell as well. I am updating memory on 6 STs from the original ST(M)s to STF(M)s. Fixing other STF(M)s, Megas, Megafiel 44s, Megafile 30s, Other Hard Drives and even some 8-bit stuff. In addition, after Christmas I will have one of Exxos' Remake boards to play with. I have downloaded a few of your game mods and loaded them, but that is all the further I have gotten. As far as a single download … I think it is better to READ about what you are downloading and know how to run it properly by the instructions on the website. In my opinion, do not do a single download file. -
