  1. I agree, I have the SGM . It's really impressive piece of work. It looks, feels and works just like any colecovision product. To do that many of them is stressful and to have shipped out, (I can't confirm) but I heard close to 200 of these things already.

    Give him a break, You'll get it and really,, is $95 is too much to risk. I got a parking ticket the other day for $60 and I have nothing to show for it.

    For the $95 I got a really cool homebrew product to use. Well worth the wait.

  3. The SGM already has as many games released for it that the Colecovision driving module which had very few games released for it.

    Dukes of hazard
    Destructor
    Turbo
    Bump'n'Jump
    Pitstop
    Zippy Race
    Burn Rubber

    Super Game Module Games Released or SGM partially supported games include

    Dragon's Lair
    Zaxxon Super Game
    King's Valley
    Thexder
    Buck Rogers S. G.
    Mecha-8
    RollerBall

    It's very cool. And it will be worth waiting for.

    It's very expensive to do what he has done. I help in manufacturing design and I know some of the cost overrun problems that can occur. I personally think that $90 + shipping was too little to charge for this.

  4. I have just now successfully rotated a 16 x 16 sprite using this technique and a little algorithm. This will also work for the mirror horizontal & vertical.

    Unsigned source is the 8x8 sprite you are copying from

    Unsigned destination is the 8x8 sprite you are write the newly rotated pattern to.

    unsigned count is how many consecutive 8x8 sprites to rotated by 90 degrees from the starting sprite inclusive

    I'm going to be able to use 5 sprites table positions to display over 16 rotation points for the object and more if I flip it horizontally & vertically.

    5 = 4 original sprite drawings at 4 different angles + 1 sprite to use for drawing any other sprite based on the rotation operation

    This is going to help my project significantly.

  5. I am attempting to use the rotate_90 routine to rotate this sprite.

    sprites[0].pattern = (0*4);

    What is the code if I intitialized the sprite patterns from these 2 lines

    put_vram (sprgen,sprites_init,sizeof(sprites_init));
    /* Upload sprite patterns */
    rle2vram (sprite_patterns,sprtab);

    also is this permanently rotating the sprite pattern in memory or only this instance of it. In other words do I have to un rotate it to get if my character is again moving in the intitial direction.

    Thanks

    /* Rotate clockwise N times 8 bytes of pattern */

    /* table_code : 0 = sprite_name, 1 = sprite_generator, 2 = name (screen), 3 = pattern, 4 = color */

    void rotate_90 (byte table_code, unsigned source, unsigned destination, unsigned count);

  6. I disagree with this . I own a Dina system. I also have Adam & colecovision. I have never understood why this gets crapped on. I won't say its as good as the colecovision but i have no problem recommending it otherwise.

    I think its an excellent little system. so compact compared to the other 2. I find the controllers work nicely.

    If you are going to have a dina system you have to buy some sg-1000 carts for it. which I have.

    lode runner is excellent, I also have a card catcher converter so I can use the sega my cards and have bank panic & penguin land.

    and of course it plays colecovision games.I haven't noticed any incompatibilities yet.

    cons : it can't use coleco expansion port devices so you can't play Atari 2600.

    coleco cart slot has a hard time with recent homebrews. its depth is too low to make good contact. it should work if the pcb could reach.

    the rf output is not the best

    pros: Sg-1000 games card catcher & sega my cards & colecovision games

    nintendo style controllers which are better for some games than the coleco controller ( though i still prefer the coleco controller)

    compact, this thing is tiny, smaller than nes or sega master sstem or coleco

  7. I just wanted to say that this is an awesome port. I played the whole 150 levels on a mac plus years back. I love the fact that you have the option of slow or fast. The fast is the way to go and the controls are responsive.

    The speed of the game, the responsiveness of the controls, the look of the levels and music all match what I was expecting. And it's in colour since the mac version was Black & White that is a nice change.

    Anyways highly recommended. This is a pick up & play game that will never get old. Some coleco games have not dated well. This game can be enjoyed by anyone even if they are not a colecovision partisan.

  8. I received my 5 new Pixelboy games today and tried them all out. Excellent.

    Mecha 8 - The music is nicely enhanced with the SGM in mecha 8. Surpisingly smooth scrolling game. This is Top quality game. Buy it now

    Battle of Hoth and Module Man are awesome.Green sleeves is great background music and I love action puzzle games. Highly recommended.

    Buck Rogers - My mom brought this home 1 week in the 80's while I was home sick so I always have a soft place in my heart for this game and being able to play the very enchance Adam versions on the regular coleco is great.

    The Black Onyx is entertaining. More to it than I though and the save game feature to eprom was a nice surprise. That's right you can save and turn off the colecovision and continue later. Better get your graph paper out though navigation can be confusing. I got lost in the town several times.

    Incidentaly, I know a guy whom creates custom Hockey card sets here in Toronto, He's got a press and a diecutting machine , laminator etc. I've been to his shop as he shares space with someone I work with. You can get them made within Canada is what I'm getting at not necessarily using this guy.

    Thanks to everyone involved.

  9. Not colecovision games, I think it actually runs 20 Sega master system games

    Contains 20 Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear games.
    Sonic Drift 2, Sonic Triple Trouble, Alex Kidd in High Tech World, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Altered Beast, Assault City, Astro Warrior, Aztec Adventure, Bomber Raid, Columns, Ecco II
    Fantasy Zone, Fantasy Zone: The Maze, Global Defense, Kung Fu Kid, The Ninja, Penguin Land
    Quartet, Snail Maze, Super Columns

    ahhg you beat me to it.

  10. I too am looking for girl's garden & regret having not gotten a copy when it was available. I do however have it as an sg1000 rom which I can play on a Sega master system so I got to show my daughter anyway and she was able to control It. though not an ideal solution.

    Actually you might want to check out warm fuzzy the quest for salad by dale wick. It has a similar premise and it is very easy for a kid to play.
