Frenzy but with 2 players coop. and you can win the game. and then everyone gets ice cream. The other obvious one which is 2 player is bruce lee simulataneously. Doable too on coleco.
-
my game is 2 player simultaneously which is original. So there is 1 coming up.
-
Yes, I would be interested in the code. I'd love to save a few bytes of room.
-
Hi, I didn't notice you were ready. I am interested. Put me down for 1. I may take 2 depending on the price. Let me know when you have an approx. # I have 1 full system and 1 partial that also works but no case. I may make a custom case.

pletter, is this available in the c library?. I didn't see any info about it in the documention. how do you encode to it. and how do you expand from it into vram?

WAR work in progress for colecovision - biplanes & tanks
digress replied to digress's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Yeah I think you're right. I own both of those other games and it was always a chore to rope someone into playing a round with me. Then I would have to pretend to lose so as not to totally scare them off. Same thing with Rocky. There is actually a 1 player game in Rocky though but it was the equivalent of a moving punching bag. I'll be adding a 1 player option. I may have to simplify the bg though as trying to get an a.i. to navigate buildings might be difficult. -

I'm not sure if i'll laminate or not. It's just trying out and see what looks best. I'll make another without and show for a comparision. Yeah not sure maybe I won't I was just filling the space. It is the address of my home office. I don't have a lemonade stand selling coleco cartridges on the front lawn or anything though. Yeah, just me. It's work that is fun. I have to make many things for people that was just work. Why not make something that I want to make. I'm making everything from my home office except the pcbs. I'll get them ordered in. I have supplies on hand to make only 10 at them moment. That might be enough anyways. I'm not ready yet to sell any if there is any interest. I'm still thinking of what else to add to the actual game to make it worthwhile to people. So the obvious thing to me is a 1 player option. I'm going to think about how I could implement that today. Of course its modeled after combat/ armour battle on the Atari and intellivision respectively. I don't believe either of them has a 1 player option. -

Trying to raise some money to help produce a homebrew project. If anyone is interested in some Atari 400 / 800 CIB games. Some of them & dual games with c64 or apple versions included in the box. These are untested as I do not have the hardware. However I imagine they work. Some nice boxes. I might keep the Jagd Panzer just because I like the box so much but I don't have an Atari system. WAR work in progress for colecovision - biplanes & tanks
digress replied to digress's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I do intend to a make an intellivision game possibly next or in the near future after I finish this one on colecovision. It would probably be a different concept altogether though. Intellivision already has some nice tank games though . Triple action & Armour battle are very similar games. I'm not sure a version of this game would add much whereas there really isn't a similar game to this on colecovision. I could make an intellivision box version though... but it would still have the colecovision cartridge inside. We'll see. I have to finish this one first. -

I only need to be told (unless your the wife...I don't hear anything she says) . Sometimes I don't see it and need others opinions. Thanks for the help everyone -
wow, the output code is half the size. dramatic when you see that example. the actual note notation is nice. makes it easier to read.

WAR work in progress for colecovision - biplanes & tanks

War aug 2014b Direct update based on feedback https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of3xebMoC0Q&feature=youtu.be -new music versions that should sound better on the coleco (still not complete but enough is there to compare) I'm using parkfun101's Colecovision Music and melody creator. Helped greatly to revise the music around in 1 day -planes now fly more like looping, slower and much easier to control (graity is disabled) -tanks & planes now turn slower -tanks now take between 1 and 3 hits to kill if hit but weakened tank will turn black (i'll use a different colour than black later) but lets you know you have been hurt -(sometimes 1 hit will kill you sometimes 2 sometimes 3) -Tanks now come to a bounce & then stop when they strike an immovable object. They also have your course changed. -you can now destroy some objects by running into them. -

In fairness, I was controlling (trying) both planes at the same time which lead to a few passengers losing their lunch. The difference (flight style) between looping and mine is 1) speed - looping is very slow in comparison so my planes rotate too quickly as well. 2) gravity - looping does not take gravity into account 3) looping has 20 rotational directions and I have 16 but that was because 1 plane vs 2 planes each with 2 colours and I was running out of sprites. That being said the level of difficulty at flying is astronomical and I'll adjust that more towards looping.I have good control over it as is but it might be too hard for others. Actually the code is already there and working on the round about level. I'll try it on the other levels. with the tanks: 1)the bird I was planning on converting into a jeep or something for the tanks that basically gets in your way to absorb a shot occasionally when you think you got a sure kill. Adds a bit of bad luck. 2)The bouning tanks has to come out for sure. 3) I'm not sure about the wrapping tanks & bullets. You may be right. Basically it was necessary for the planes due to the speed. I'll try a version without any wrapping for the tanks. -

hi, yeah I am well aware of high pitched squealing. it annoys me too. the coleco sound chip doesn't handle those high notes well. so like was mentioned I am going to play with lowering the octave etc. the music has been pretty difficult. I may have to switch tunes to something different altogether. This piece of music may not be suitable for the sound chip. I won't put music in there if I can't get sound good. better I just do sound effects. i'll put in an option to disable music. probably a keypad button that you can toggle anytime. and please any feedback is great . that's why I put it up here. Espicially if there is something you don't like. -

aug update https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty-BCt6s4lg Aug 2014 update. Added new levels. Still working on the music. Fixed several things. Tanks exploded better added towers to biplane level added clouds to biplanes level added a track round a bout level added a buildings level to the tanks and reworked level 2 Still some glitches which cause the tanks to teleport. Overall much better. -
its up 2 20 users maybe 20 is a limit

perfect. that works nice. if there was a few other things, 1. making 2 or more consecutive notes that are the same output as 1 note with the time combined 2. more than 64 note length possible I have been using it to make music and it'll end up in my game and i'll credit your program when done.

The Music/SFX problem will soon be history!
digress replied to retroillucid's topic in CollectorVision
the sound from your routines is awesome!. I tried for over a month though but I couldn't get it to play correctly inside my game though. Soon as I started to have user input. I hope to give it (your routines) another try on the next project. It may have been something in my code I can't easily track down. -

an export to coleco bios format that would a great option. -
I have figured out how to most effectively work with the program for myself. if doing multi tracks using multiple windows you need to have the tracks start and end on the same note column # other wise the tracks won't be sequenced when you copy your code If I have no notes going on at the beginning or end of a track I make a duplicate notes pattern from the track that does for that part of the track. The fact that this allows me to output c code which I can plop right into my program and compile is really awesome. I can quickly rework a portion of a track and hear it through a compiled rom.

JetPack! available for sale - ColecoVision homebrew
digress replied to 5-11under's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Received Jetpack today. Broke 10,000 points so far. Fun game. Easy pick up & play game, The physics work very well. Great job! -
Ok , let meknow if you remember. I was able to output to midi from videotunes and play that under windows but to bios sound routine data would be ideal. For some reason video tunes doesn't seem to have the full range of possible notes scale available though. I notice while hand coding some music which I then wanted to test quickly on videotunes. It's a real nice program though.

just a thought. what about a visual music composer(piano sheet music style) that could use your sound generator as instruments. so design your sound effect using your visual composer then assign that to a voice, then using the same envelope have it play a tune. and output to a music data file that can be attached to a game project would be the goal. I really like video tunes design. so I can easily and visually write 3 part music in a piano sheet music gui. adding custom instruments to a similar interace that could then output a music data file that can be used directly with say the playsound(1) style command would be ideal. anyways just a thought. i'll figure out a way to convert the output into the form I need. certainly makes designingnew effects easy. thanks for the great project.
