It doesn't look possible to rig 2 fire buttons from looking at the control panel test.
-
I plunked down the $5.00 for the arcade stick. It sort of works. All fire buttons show as button 0. However, the fire stays active for a second or 2 and moves the joystick left for that period. Fire cannot be engaged again until the period has passed. I'm sure I can work around this by taking the fire buttons off the chip and hooking 1 up straight. I was hoping to have at least 2 fire buttons. Strangely, the LEDs work.

Yes, I was trying to avoid buying another adapter. If all the pins are active, I can configure the stick through MAME. The junk shop down the road has a Genesis Arcade Power Stick for $5.00.Did you see the one specifically made for Genesis controllers? http://www.amazon.co..._bxgy_vg_text_y

Thanks, I'll look forward to a test if you can find the Genesis controller.

I have this cable and love it. Does anyone know if all the pins are active? I'd like to buy a Genesis Arcade Power Stick for MAME.

Our DG flier states that the $25.00 sale is Thanksgiving only.

Our DG just got another case in.

Amazon says "This item will be released on November 13, 2012." They're taking pre-orders at 52.75. I believe it was at the "List price 59.99" when I checked a couple of weeks ago.
I'm in Oklahoma. There have been 4 sitting in my Dollar General for about a week. They're $40.00, but DG always has the $5.00 store coupon on the weekends.

Just did a testing with a room full of retro gamers at a Labor Day party yesterday....
I just joined to thank you for the FB4 review. I was told by a girl at work that the Sega system lagged and broke contact with the IR controller. I had seen 3 positive reviews of the FB4 before I read your report. It also looks like there's a sound sync issue. I took your advice and got a FB2 (not FB2+) for $15.00 including shipping from eBay. It has all the games I was looking for. Later, I'll put in a cartridge slot. I also plan to get the PC joystick adapter.
Thanks again. You have saved me money and frustration.

Dollar General has them for $15.00 through 12/23/12.
Some of those games weren't in the arcades I frequented in my youth. This is the 1st time I've heard of them. The puzzle games look boring. The fairy and bubble games look really easy. I'd get it for Qix and Space invaders, but I gather Qix has issues with the joystick.
