Some reason I cannot quote, GadgetUK, The HD is attached with plastic stand offs, it looks factory it doesnt look like a cut hack job but when I tear into it more I will document with photos as best as I can. It is possible that it was a custom job and we will see once I get to dig into it.

Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator......
Shinju replied to CyranoJ's topic in Atari Jaguar
Looks amazing and I second or third the BMG gives it that outter space ambiance! As for a name, Take Off, Spaced Out, On Empty, Marooned, Stranded on Planet X, Meteorite Scramble, Rocket ship Down, OMG Space bees! -
Small update, I did not get a chance to take anything apart yet. But both top cases I have do not have the ST E+ badge, Like I said I got these and they were already taken apart the cases were loose so who knows what or where this unit came from or if the ST E+ case was put on another system. Did these units not come with a HD from the factory normally?

Plus it has one of the best CD soundtracks on the system, I really liked the music for the Vampire leader.

Skate or Die 1 and 2 for the NES-good, or shovelware?...
Shinju replied to ataridave's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Skate or Die 1 and 2 both have a great soundtrack from start to finish, but yes the controls are less to be desired. -
Will do, I might be able to jump into this one tonight. I just want to get this beast up and running again! I got some Kings Quest IV to play!
-
Cool, might have a piece if history and I didn't even know it.

I will have to look when I am feeling a little better, however there was a book in another box that I did not get "I am can go back for a look" that was called (How to play IBM games on your ST). Who ever owned this was into making music as I have a few music plug-in devices and a digital video box that has a cart interface on the side and some standard video RCA ports.

Its very possible, the cases were loose when I got the machines, 1040e and 1040f. There is 4 ram slots under the HD at least it looks to be old simm ram. I didn't go any further in the break down of it as it was pretty late when I finally got a minute to play with them. And the other machine had no HD in the middle or power supply board so I didn't even get to check that one.

Looks like the 5200 version, and you can take the lables off with a little effort with out damage if you are good with a hairdrier and patience.

Hey guys I recently got a box full of Atari ST machines, games and audio plug in's and a SC1224 color monitor. The 2 1040's I got are DOA one is incomplete (the 1040e) and the other is complete and turns on but doesnt function. When I go to turn it on I get a black or white screen with colored artifacts on the screen, it looks like it is trying to boot into something as after a few seconds it goes to another screen that is scrambled. If I reset the machine it will go from a white to black screen and do nothing. I am new to the ST line as far as toubleshooing goes I have no clue where to start ot what to look at. I am all ears! I would like to ressurect this beast as I got quite a few good games in the lot that I would love to go back and play again! Thanks in advance -j Here is a photo of what the unit looks like when it is turned on.

ZAXXON: Atari 2600 vs Intellivision version?
Shinju replied to rhindlethereddragon's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I thought the coleco version was pretty good considering the limitations without the Adam computer expansion. I have no doubts that the intellivision could have done a good zaxxon port if coleco wasn't behind it as they wanted to make both ports FAR less superior to their own system. I liked the 8bit versions too. -

Right there with you, I am almost done with my Nintendo cart sets, N64 completed all 296 games, snes I have around 300 to go, and nes 5 left of the licensed NTSC us set. It was bound to happen sooner or later, and yes it sucks for all the new guys out there paying obscene prices on some of this stuff. Glad I got most of the Atari, c64,intv and coleco stuff out of the way early on as all this stuff is on the rise too. -
Can vic-20 cassettes be played on a c64? Or is there no backwards compatibility?
-
Awesome news for sure!

So good I had to post it twice! Lol

Get used to it, blame the smart phone era and easy access internet. I will not be suprised if Savers and Value Village follow Goodwills footsteps and start pulling retro stuff out of the stores all together and sell it exclusive online auctions. More money for them bad for the local collectors. -
Bump Still looking! SIO2SD and Sd2iec C64!

Le bump! Oh and a SD device for the C64 as well!

Should I buy a PSP for a portable emulation device?
Shinju replied to Cynicaster's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I still stand by my GP2x, play's Neo Geo just fine as well as the rest. I dont care for PS1 emulation or N64 or 32x but I am sure it would play the Sega 32x fine. I had it running a PC emulator for Broken Sword I and II and it was great. I would like to try the GP2X Caanoo. -
