  1. I would have high hopes. Someone could cut some corners and pull it off !! I don't know but it seems like someone could make a damn good de-make at least.
  2. not much of a market for bootlegs. maybe a couple bucks apiece at a flea market. or if you can find a mad bootleg collector/archivist/historian who's never seen them yet.
  3. Ha, I've never seen those Intellivision labels, funny!
  4. Man, I had all of these back in the day. Subscribed from the beginning & then they gave me a free year of Nintendo Power when it switched to that! Sadly I turned em in to a bookstore, along with the 1st 2 years of NP.
  5. That's awesome you got Popeye with it x)
  6. 10,000 I like this game a little better once I get used to the squirrely controls. However. A game over for losing at Rock-Paper-Scissors?? What a bunch of crap!
  7. I'm impressed with the music & sound in this game, already sounding like the Genesis!
  8. 16,400 23,900 made it to the boss before but this time got more points. Wow I think I somehow took a different path this time. Found an amulet, then never saw the 2nd boss I encountered a few runs back. When I got to this stage: There was no scrolling stage this time, just stairs going up to a training room where I kept trying but life was running out. The amulet restored my health when it reached zero (I thought it was a bonus room & I couldn't die but that's not the case). Leaving this screen to the right took me to another temple like the first one but a little longer and different enemies. Then I fought a wasp-boss dropping maggots: I also picked up a sword-upgrade, and got an extra life at 20,000 points! Final score: 23,900
  9. 12,700 This is pretty tough but I need to get used having the jump & attack buttons reversed. Fun game so far, liking it better than I expected.
  10. Thanks I don't like either Zillion game very much. Maybe back in 1988 I'd have a different opinion though, haha. I only ever played a handful back then, at friends houses. I remember Double Dragon, Alex Kidd (Miracle World) and that isometric motorcycle game. Maybe a couple others.
  11. As far as currency problems & stuff getting lost, I didn't worry about this and everything worked out fine. I don't know about these names you mentioned but I would personally avoid them and just deal with individuals. I've sent 2600 games to Brazil & had no problems. My brother lives part time in Nicaragua & we don't have problems with the mail or currency. I've also gotten Atari games sent to me from Europe & the Middle East, no issues.
  12. So I played Zillion and got my ass handed to me.
  13. Played some R-Type! 44,400 I don't understand how to beat the boss tho. There's no way around it when it advances forward. I tried about 10 times.
  14. Console Quest: The Karate Kid I didn't usually get very pissed at games - but this one... Aaagh@*? not fair! I got unfortunately derailed this round but here's an improvement: Mr. Do! (take 19) 81,950
  15. In The Hunt (5th attempt): 30,300 Now I can say the Playstation game is true to the arcade - it looks exactly the same as far as I can tell, and definitely tough as hell! This one seems slightly harder though (as one would expect) Mr. Do (take 04): 39,700 feeling really rusty on this one!
  16. Xain'd Sleena (10th attempt): 104,530 Man, this would've probably been one of my favorite games if I'd ever had it around back in the day. Console Sidequest -- This was a hard one for me. I can usually still find some fun in games I liked as a kid. Some games I don't want to play anymore but I still hold in high regard, like RPGs or etc., something I think has aged just fine, I'm just done playing it. If it weren't limited to consoles I would pick Daedalian Opus on Game Boy for sure. I played tons of that and always thought highly of it during my middle school & high school years, but ever since I got back into gaming, I just could care less about that game. I tried, but... yeah no thanks. After a good deal of thought, I've decided to go with Tagin' Dragon (NES). This game was always bad, but for me got even worse with time. My brother and I had a low opinion of it, but we actually had a lot of fun with the 2-player mode, chasing each others' tails. We got a kick out of making fun of the game and making fun of Color Dreams for their low quality games and stupid-looking cartridges. We actually rented Tagin' Dragon 2 or 3 times, which I can't say of any other Color Dreams game (I'm pretty sure any others got promptly brought back & swapped out with something else after the 1st try!) I even put a good deal of time into getting as far as I could in 1-player Tagin' Dragon back then, at least the 1st time we rented it. Nowadays, it just seems like nothing but a crap game like one might find on one of those famiclones preloaded with unlicensed stinkers. Except for collecting of course. I still want that cartridge! 810 pts endured:
  17. Xain'd Sleena (1st attempt ever!) -- I like how it changes to the flying/shooting stage. Also my first time using an older style of MAME, kinda neat. 63,500
  18. Is Xain'd Sleena specific to certain versions of MAME? I'm getting the message about a missing rom file.
