  1. ... I've noticed my final score disappearing before I could take a photo a few times before. Anyone else encountering that?

only thing I've seen like that is that it changes colors & sometimes the score is close to the same color as the background. so I had some bad pictures because of that. but if you wait for a bit it should be more legible, unless you're encountering something different

i see karo's tips are right on, same as i was going to say.

another tip: once it gets into "star warrior" range, I find it very useful to stay somewhat near the center, dodging around trying to stay away from the edges. that way I don't have beacon cubes flying out on the opposite side of the screen, hard to reach.

is there a way to make the radiation cubes come out?.. there were a few games where I ran out of time and not enough cubes came out.

I think if you miss a few it punishes you by not sending out cubes for a while, and if you hit several, it rewards you by sending frequent ones for a while. if it is punishing you, i think it will still fire a bunch of them out when the timer is low, but sometimes not enough! so I would just stick with karo's tip of hitting as many of those as possible at all costs!!

personally I think this game is impressive for Spectravision, it seems to be the best one I've played so far., although I haven't given them much of a chance. however I don't plan on playing it after this! It may actually be dangerous to play, more than any other game I've ever played I can feel the stress in my eyes & brain from the flashes & sounds... I like the directness of the caution in the book, basically warning that you shouldn't play it! ha ha

then it says "So, you have ignored our warning. Very well then..." lol

  3. yes, way better! I always end up with at least some controller problems using emulation. also it doesn't look or sound or feel the same !!!

I like this game a lot, it is so far my favorite intellivision game, along with Lady Bug. But I am just getting into playing on this system so I've got a lot to discover. Until now I never even played Diner for more than a minute or two. The only games I've really played on the real hardware are Lady Bug and Treasure of Tarmin. Other ones in my collection that I've tried, I couldn't really get into yet. I grew up with Atari so it seems wierd to me.

i've been a bit limited for time this week, but have been squeezing a couple games in almost every night.

    one more chance left!

i didn't know about the multiballs bonus either -- but i was trying to keep them going anyway, just to knock out the bricks faster.

i also just got better at using the bottom paddle on game 7. i tried placing it ahead of time where the ball will be & this works much better for me than aiming at the ball. (i always miss! but not with the top paddle, not sure why)

... oh boy, Challenge of Nexar, I never played it before!

Important tip (I think): When the cobra's death ray is about to shoot down, remember to position yourself by placing your paddle under the cobra and pressing the fire button so that your paddle remains stationary while the ray zings down.

thanks, that was a really good tip! I found out that even when just lining up to catch a drip of venom, it is very helpful to keep the button held down, it allows you to control your shots & get hits in while waiting to catch the drip.

    post-34560-0-26402100-1382397284_thumb.jpg i got a bonus

wow I have never figured out how to play this game until now. I always thought it was just Terrible. now I can see it is a pretty good game, and better than Picnic! of course, being from Parker Bros that should be obvious.

    Man vs. Snake: A Western

Roscoe the sweaty lady-killing Stampede rustler was winning too much. Something had to be done.

The local rodeo gamblers knew of a travelling hustler known on the streets as "Joe." He had been peddling deadly South American reptiles post-34560-0-16326900-1382398335_thumb.jpg on the streets of Sao Paulo. Whispering words were spoken. A few solemn phone calls and a vicious, viperous man-biter named Diego was well on its way to Texas...

The snake knew what to do.

First he attacked the legs of the horse. Then he bited his time as he watched with glee the agonized bouncing of his first victim, awaiting its inevitable collapse.

But this serpent wasn't from Texas.

His dreams turned to nightmares when his lower half was pounded into the dirt by stampeding dogies. A cloud of dust rose up. The cowboy landed firmly on both feet as his trusty steed crashed to it's death. He noticed in the corner of his eye a shady gambler slinking away in the crowd.

The rustler fired his lasso, no longer caring about the HSC -- there was a new score to settle here. Diego's life flashed before his eyes. Caught about the neck, he felt himself yanked back and zooming through the air at the fleeing bad guy. His mission was a bust, and so was he. There was only one guy left to bite -- the one who decieved him. The one who didn't tell him about the dogies.

The rustler's aim was true, and the killer flew fangs first into the gambler's backside.

Roscoe glanced around. A man, a snake, and a horse were finished. A few young ladies hoped for his attention. The dust settled. It was time for a steak.

  7. I have used that idea in Congo Bongo, but it seems you can still get hit sometimes when hugging the wall. I'm pretty sure it has happened to me & I don't rely on it any more, but I'll give it a try.

    no improvemenst !!

    RATS

i do have a small tip for King Kong: use the milkshake-jump-boost to get to the top floor. that will prevent the milkshake from killing you if it decides to come at you instead of exiting to the side. I have found this to be necessary every time except on the first level. otherwise I think I'm throwing a coin-toss to see if I die or not.

this game kind of reminds me of Towering Inferno. it's really hard, 3K is a monster score, and as far as I can tell the difficulty maxes out at level 3. so if you can pass level 3, that should give you a lot of hope that you can keep going and going! and as with T.I., that ismuch easier said than done
