I have used that idea in Congo Bongo, but it seems you can still get hit sometimes when hugging the wall. I'm pretty sure it has happened to me & I don't rely on it any more, but I'll give it a try. no improvemenst !! RATS i do have a small tip for King Kong: use the milkshake-jump-boost to get to the top floor. that will prevent the milkshake from killing you if it decides to come at you instead of exiting to the side. I have found this to be necessary every time except on the first level. otherwise I think I'm throwing a coin-toss to see if I die or not. this game kind of reminds me of Towering Inferno. it's really hard, 3K is a monster score, and as far as I can tell the difficulty maxes out at level 3. so if you can pass level 3, that should give you a lot of hope that you can keep going and going! and as with T.I., that ismuch easier said than done

12000 a new game for me, starting to sort of get the hang of it seems like a pretty good game i never played this on atari either ...what a wierd system !

8390 crazy scores y'all! I got stuck. I could sit in the cage with the girl killing red spiders indefinitely, but that would never work - I could play all week and still get only 20K or something. meanwhile my guy is stuck in the web & I can't go anywhere. don't know what to do. perhaps I am missing a button? my controls seem messed up. I have a controller which only works for directionals, but I have to use space bar on the keyboard to jump/shoot.

Congo Bongo 80450 King Kong 2555 ok king kong is growing on me just a bit anyone here ever played Spider Kong? it's worse I was impressed to see that Congo Bongo continues to ramp up the difficulty as far as I have gotten so far

I have a suggestion -- I just noticed I have an Inbox! I was checking it out & thought it would be handy if I could click on a message about when someone has posted a comment about one of my scores, and have it link me to the comment. Sometimes I can't find my score that it's talking about in order to see the comment. maybe I just need to get better at using the site, but I thought it would be a good idea. maybe a link from the trophy notifications too. also, I'm wondering if there is any way I can look to see who is currently in the lead for cracked trophies, and for "first" and "worldwide" trophies. It would be cool to be able to look at a list of the ten prize categories to see how players are ranked for each of these.

oh, sweet! I've wanted to play this game for a long time. Only played it once in my life, about age 12 at the Taj in Phoenix AZ. Bummer I missed Frogger!! been so busy lately ... PS. the 2600 version kicks ass

you're exactly right! even the age ranges sound the same, although I had my atari up to about age 15 (I still played Joust).

wow this one looks really impressive for 7800. I have Castelian for NES and never knew there were any other versions other than GameBoy. maybe I will make some time to jump in this round

CORRECTION. Sorry folks !! I posted my Gradius score, not Gradius II. Correct Gradius II score: 32310 now I see a possible reason for Gradius II not getting a US release - the difficulty! Just like with SMB2. Those Japanese kids I guess had more of a craving for difficulty.

Congo Bongo 45190 King Kong 1265 I really actually enjoy Congo Bongo. I understand the frustrating awkwardness, but I have to give it some props, SEGA's attempts at 3D back then weren't too bad, and I always appreciate a music soundtrack. I also get a kick out of the fact that the creator/s put that torch scene in there. but I agree KK is really bad, and a blatant crappy attempt at a DK ripoff. not as good as Fast Eddie. however, I still rank it above Coco Nuts. and maybe just barely above Wabbit. I am also going to just try for the best scores I can get. It's just to iffy trying to wait, how will I know what other people will post? but maybe as the week progresses, I will change up my strategy if I'm ranking low in one of the games...

16248 ok I'm back in action. a bummer to be away from the action but it has to happen sometimes i'm still figuring out how to get extra lives no sector 10 score yet when I first got my atari (in recent times) I passed up a $3.00 Beamrider cartridge and have been kicking myself ever since, I had no idea it was an excellent game & was just grabbing for the ones I remembered.

101000 I've been out of town visiting family, & getting very little Midnight Magic time. I did manage to play a few games, no pic sorry! but it is not an impressive score anyway i was just starting to hit the multipliers had over 101K but lost the score so I just rounded it down to 101

9835 Liduario, I decided to take your suggestion & give it a try! this is always a very awkward system for me, emulated or not, but I do enjoy some of the games I have. too bad I don't have this cartridge yet! QBert is one of my favorite games & I have been playing it in several versions

Toyshop 40233 my first time making it to Christmas! and yes, I agree this is another high quality game, great job to whoever made it. my only strategy tip: start with a color applicable to more than one toy (3 if possible) and move over to the other side of the screen, painting all that apply. get a color on the right side, and move to the left painting, then a color from the left, etc. I find it saves time lol That totally happens to me on this game. other times I get in a nice groove Thanx Northcoast for the bonus points tip, that will help...

104200 don't have my pics with me i will have it later but probably with an improvement anyway. it's a good game, I forgot about it but I did play it years ago the third boss is tough... I wasn't paying attention & missed the first round! that's a really fun game

no more improvement for me. but I did get a game over 300K with only one Special harvest... it would have been my best game but I kept getting no useful letters! I think I noticed something about that. It seems like if you waste too many of the letters, getting them on the wrong color, then the game punishes you by giving you nothing but crap for a while. Lid, I don't know how you do it either, especially as much as you compete in the other HSC's-- and keeping a marriage as well??? that's inspiring ! ... on to the toyshop...

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (no longer my least favorite game since I played Bugs) 13000 good for a bonus point. still don't like playing it, but I'll give it some more tries I have the pic, just forgot to bring it, I'll post it later looking for the Toyshop ROM...
