oh no! Time Warp I don't have a cart
back to dumb ol' emulation...
Question: I don't understand the bonus rules! is that a typo?
" 5-29 2 pts. 15-24 1pt. "

that's probably my last ditch.
I have started also having some good games without much spawn-deaths
the thing that kills me the most is shooting in the wrong direction immediately after spawning, then I have to wait for that bullet to finish
side note: I have been following the series called "Falling Skies" while spending hours on Berzerk.
it is kind of ironic because they battle robot "Mechs" in the show.
but I am also impressed with the show as well, & now this game reminds me of it
-
Sometimes when the robot shoots, I don't die. The bullet glides through the empty space between my head and my torso where my neck should be located.
love it when that happens! always by accident for me. sometimes I can see it's too late to get out of the way & I try to get it to go through my neck, & so far I always die. but I remember prevailing when I was like ten years old. I used to try to shoot their bullets as much as possible too

wow, the luck element in this game is a killer without extra lives.
sometimes just starting out touching a robot !! you have to run away immediately or else he might run into you. can't shoot because to extend your arm touches it & kills you. so what if it starts you out between the robot & a wall? run down, but if he also runs its too late.
so I think it is basically a dice roll at the start of each stage, to give you an occasional "kill screen."
but I have to say game 9 has revived my interest in playing Berzerk. It makes it more fun & exciting, I have been compulsively hitting reset when I lose

improving a bit
Larcen, i know what u mean, what's the point?
but i guess i have a cheap submission too?
Wierd, it's tough... I played a crap-load of this game growing up & still pretty much getting trashed
a few months ago I had a confuzing game of Berzerk!!!
I was playing on the default setting, 1A (difficulty switches don't seem to matter tho),
rolled the game back to the first level twice, and not long after that the screen flashed and
the game reset!
??? what the...
... ...u gotta be...
!killscreen? no, I think people have recorded games going much farther
glitch?
power surge?
rats.

... and I hope everyone is enjoying the new maze's challenge.

thank you!!!
so glad people are working on stuff like this
would like to do so myself eventually
my programming is coming along very slowly
lots of things one can get into but its a brilliant hobby

Berzerk 6530
first series of attempts
thought I had this game all wrapped up
but i forgot about these other game selections
this is really tough

uh oh ! Berzerk I had a feeling...
wow nice khryssom that icon looks amazing!
so far my least favorite game is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I hate it because... it is terribly tedious and boring and doesn't actually even seem like a game really, more like a demo. but I guess it's a game. no multipliers or anything like that so the score just CRAWLS along, & same thing over & over & over... no fun! I am impressed with the movie & i like the cartridge & box... but hey, what happened the game seems very crappy

no pic but I'm still improving
=12 no bonus
In the last Frostbite thread I just watched a video of someone (or a computer?) and now I think it's impossible to roll the game.
the TG scoreboard does report a rollage: 1,832,730
but you would have to believe in the Todd Rogers
personally I do not doubt it
perhaps it was a score using tricks or glitches or something not allowed here?
but i think TG also forbids that kind of thing...
so I'm thinking... I haven't watched the video yet. but maybe you can do it!
-
seriously! it looks & sounds great but i do think this game has been overrated. still it is not a bad game. like picnic or wabbit or coconuts. tho i did get a kick out of wabbit.

glad i could help

unfortunately I got so caught into playing Frostbite, I missed the bus & did not improve my score

173160 189790
= 18 = 34 !
Oink grew on me & I decided i liked it a lot
but I'm immediately hooked with this game & like it more
thanks for the video & extra info Oyama!
I think Lid probably has a good point about getting a bad habit by point-pressing early in the game
however, with practice as Lid said unstopping, maybe it can still be profitable? if you can remember to adjust your strategy at the right time. many games I play like this, pressing for points until a point where I change what I'm doing when it gets tougher.
I will start adding pics soon

I'm a new kid on the block. I didn't have much free time this week, I only had time to play two games. I got 7,000 on the first game and then 46,860 on the second one. I'm pretty happy about that because I haven't played Atari in years. I'm glad to get back into playing again and participating in the club! I took a picture but I don't know how to upload it, is there a way to upload it here or do I have to link it from somewhere else?
did you know about clicking "More Reply Options" to upload a pic?
just to the bottom right of your reply window
hope that helps

still mucking it up all over the place
this game is extremely dangerous & also extremely generous with bonus lives, big plus
-
72850
=22 for bonus points
wow this is another really good game I never played it growing up
i'm just now getting the hang of it, great how you can swerve your jumps!
so far hiding from the bear in the corner only works for me in the early stages
-
game 5A: 19,850
getting better there
with more practice & a good run, keeping focused. pretty sure I could "roll" this one too
although keeping concentration all the way to 1,000,000 would be a serious feat
-
I hope this helps you understand the scoring a little better.
yes actually that does help ! thank you, I didn't know about the falling birds prize.
i think i may actually understand it now.
-
game 5A 7530
this is more how I remember Demon Attack. I think I played mostly 1A
this seems the same except it starts you out on an advanced screen
it will take some serious patience & concentration to improve on 5A
I do have one tip for any setting:
only the bottom row of demons can shoot.
and they can only shoot if both halves are still alive.
so... you can prevent the entire wave of demons from being able to shoot at you, by taking out one of the two birds in the middle row, and keeping it that way. if the middle demon is always missing a bird, they will never shoot at you.
easier said than done, but once you get that in effect it gets easier. especially i would think for 5A since their shot is so hardcore. but i haven't gotten the technique down very well for 5A yet.
-
hey, great response patbb !!
that will help a LOT !
i couldn't find any info about this game other than "you can shoot things for extra bullets" and "ducks gobble bullets."
also stuff like "it's so simple, if you can't play this game after one minute you're an idiot"
-???
Thank you

ok I'm getting better but I'm afraid I still don't have a clue what's going on.
I know the ducks eat bullets.
aside from that I also seem to be loosing packs of bullets for some other reason.
I don't know how to get extra bullets. I've watched my bullet count while shooting o, or B, or S
is it random? stealing your bullets or giving you bonus? I don't get it

Time Warp 20767
I have pics for the other 2 also, I'll add them when I get them sent from roomie's phone
unless of course I improve first...
I'm very much enjoying Skiing and Sky Jinks !!
especially skiing. again, more Activision games which I did not appreciate as a youngster...
Time Warp emphasises the quality of Activision games
@ Gorfy: have you tried wetting the connections with rubbing alcohol & then wiping them clean with a dry q-tip? usually doing this repeatedly does the trick for me.
maybe you already know this stuff, but a tip I also got from a guy at Recycle Video Games in Coos Bay: somethimes the connecters in the Atari need cleaned, so douse the inside of cart with alcohol & then push it in & out of the Atari. clean cart & put it in a few more times & clean again. if stuff keeps coming off the cart, add alcohol & repeat again until you stop getting "dirt." it is a strange day for me to discover a cart that still doesn't work after all this treatment! hope it helps
