Wow, I experienced a glitch in this game (one of my other runs). I was about to get clobbered and panicked, trying to flash the monster. My rope whipped all over the place and I fell through to the platform below with my flashlight beaming! The monster was frozen and I didn't get hurt from the fall...

  2. On this website, read my (Tripletopper’s) post to read a no tool method of fixing the Vaus controller. Since Atari 2600 and Astrocade have similar methods, I posted all 3 on the Atari 2600 site.

Thank you for your tips!! very helpful for me.

I appreciate and value your posting it in multiple sub-forums as I do not have the time for following all of them and it would not have come to my attention had you not done so, or at least had you not posted it to the HSC.

I agree it gets a little batty around here when it comes to the over-herding of user postings, but overall I gotta be grateful for this fantastic site!

  3. Oh my goodness! Ninja Gaiden, hardcore.

In my opinion, point pressing should be fair game in any game with a timer for each stage. My understanding is that is the purpose of the timer, to make players have to keep going in order to get bigger scores. Same with Double Dragon or Donkey Kong. Just my opinion though, I'll of course abide with whatever gets decided. Also I think reference should be made to whatever rules were used in the past for Ninja Gaiden.

  4. Good gravey.

I'm not getting good draws in this tourney. I may be sunk with Gopher but I'll keep at it...

    ...

thanks G-type, I barely made it through! Robot Tank is a tough one for me. I also think my favorite damage to take is the cannon, since occasionally misfiring rarely causes me to get hit. I really like that sunrise scene!

  5. I'm baffled at how much this Def Jam game has been shooting up in value.

5 years ago I was running into this game all over the place. I've had it multiple times for PS2, Xbox and Gamecube. I'd get it for a few bucks & if I already had it for that system I'd sell it at the flea market for $5-10. Than at some point the price started climbing and it's still going!

This is certainly not a rare game. Or am I mistaken about that? I used to come across it like it was Tony Hawk or something.

Doesn't seem to be a particularly great fighting game. It is playable and fun, very easy to pick up and play, the controls are simple. But overall it's pretty basic & repetitive. You can do dirty moves, get weapons from the crowd, etc., so that's a little bit unique. It just doesn't seem to stand out to me as a great game though.

My only theory is maybe it's something to do with the personalities represented in the game?

Obviously it's nothing new that a game starts going up in value but I'm just wondering, as common as it apparently is, why this particular game?

  6. hi all --

I have a question about NES boxes. (I hope this is an acceptable forum for this, was unsure where to post)

I have a box and manual for Super Mario Bros, and I have both 3-screw and 5-screw carts.

I noticed that while SMB cart-only sells for about the same either way, the 5-screw CIB Super Mario Bros goes for roughly double that of the 3-screw CIB.

So, there must be some way to tell the difference which box belongs to the 5-screw cart... does anyone know what that difference is? And is this the same generally with all 5-screw NES games??

    thanks in advance.

  7. ROBOT TANK -- 47

I think this game must be set in Oregon's Willamette Valley, as often as the weather changes and what with all the mountains in the background everywhere I turn.

Although that doesn't explain why I can't fire again every time the enemy turns to the side... yet the enemy can when I do it!
