  1. Hey I love this! For some reason the past SMS HSC's never quite got off the ground. I hope this goes well. I have some plans that'll probably get in the way, but for now I'm in!
  2. Thanks for this response! Yes I agree. I've found out a lot about JD within the past couple years. I live in the same area as JD and graduated from the same high school. He has been a fairly prolific recording/performing artist in my area. In many ways he seems to excel beyond myself in my main areas of interest. The more I discover, the more and more he becomes increasingly an interesting personality. This book "Artworks" which you linked, is the only of his published works (as far as I know of) that I haven't actually seen/heard yet. Excepting of course the game he refers to in that interview as "truly lost." My main hope here is to find out whether or not he is still alive and well.
  3. Hello all I am wondering if anybody knows anything about former Atari programmer JD Casten these days? He seems to have disappeared from the internet as I haven't found any trace of activity since about 5 yrs ago (his last youtube upload). Previous to that upload, Casten had been actively publishing various forms of media via an outlet called "Post-Egoism Media" (which I think he created), including a rather fascinating book about artificial intelligence called Cybernetic Revelation.
  4. Seirei Senshi Spriggan (and probably others in the MUSHA series) when I first saw gameplay of Spriggan I thought it was a Star Soldier game. With the little destructible squares on the ground and everything. Also, aren't there 3 Star Soldier games on the TG16?
  5. Hmm... my first thought about that is... probably they decided that the big thing was gonna be side-scrolling, action-platforming type games, rather than classic arcades. So they designed the NES around this idea and only ported their arcade titles which already had a lot of success and fame. Also, they apparently aimed at taking over the home video game market. So I think that means moving on from the same technology that the current systems were using. Didn't Sega opt to compete with the NES using some Colecovision-style hardware? And Sega's SG-1000 failed to compete. It looked and felt like playing MSX or Colecovision. Maybe I'm missing something here but this is my point of view at the moment.
  6. I couldn't believe my eyes -- somebody left this out at the curb in a pile of free stuff! I've been avidly collecting retro games & systems for 10 yrs and I never saw an Aquarius in person before
  7. I'm giving this a shot but all my stuff's in storage so I'm enduring it with a keyboard: 98,780
  8. Oh man good one, I'd love to have that! According to pricecharting.com (based on ebay sales) this game new sells for $30 to $70. Currenently listing at $57.
  9. The Wico joystick, can't really use that when the #pad is missing.
  10. I wonder, which games are those silver labeled "Soccer" and "Baseball" ?

  12. Hello. I have this Season 1 and 2 character pass and I won't be using it. Just message me and I'll give you the code or send you the card if you'd like.
  13. Crazy Climber and I just made a deal. He's really easy to work with considering my eccentric style. Fun conversation and quick shipping, everything went well and I appreciate it!
  14. I played some NES games on the Turbografx. I'm pretty sure they were the straight up, original roms, emulated I guess. If not the accuracy is very impressive!
  15. Shinobi... 134,500 I keep getting to the helicopter and then it doesn't show my score.
