  1. Final bearing and shoot. All torpedos running hot, straight and normal. 7,970.
  2. Seawolf: 5,610. Fun game. Everything involving submarines is right up my alley, as people who follow the gameplay tracker might have observed...
  3. No gaming at all for me this week. I was too busy working, and preparing my son's birthday party (he turned 4). I'm pretty proud of the pirate treasure hunt :-).
  4. Atari 2600 Angriff der Luftflotten (aka M.A.D.): 4 min California Games: 5 min Decathlon: 3 min Invasion aus der Galaxis (aka Laser Base): 6 min Raumbasen-Attacke (aka Base Attack) 7 min Sky Jinks: 2 min PC (DOS) Historyline: 125 min Silent Hunter: 37 min Three 2600 games for the High Score Club, three new members of my illustrious "Quelle" games collection tested, and some strategy/tactics on the PC.
  5. Some quick entries for participation: California Games Footbag: 6,870 Decathlon Discus: 4,161 Sky Jinks 2BB: 1.32.55
  6. Atari 2600 Asterix: 20 min NES Disney Adventures in the Magic Kingdom: 8 min SNES The Flintstones – The treasure of Sierra Mudrock Sega Master System Putt & Putter: 3 min Rampart: 8 min The Lucky Dime Caper – Donald Duck: 8 min Sega Mega Drive Jack Nicklaus Power Challenge: 20 min Asterix was played for the High Score Club (as European version of Taz). The rest are games which I picked up in a very fine retro game shop in Lincoln, England, where I was visiting some family members. The prices on the Island are certainly moch more moderate than here in Germany.
  7. Asterix 1BB: 222500. Played this a ton as a kid, As with Taz over there across the Atlantic, I was always wondering what the hell the game has to do with the respective cartoon/comic. Had fun with it nonetheless.
  8. I would guess some people here will be interested in this: If it already has been posted, please feel free to merge threads or let this one die.
  9. Vocelli, your turn to lay down the law. Can I play Asterix instead of the NTSC Taz?
  10. I'm in a dilemma here. I do own a Taz cartridge, but it's NTSC, of course. If I play it on my system, it will be running slower. Here's my options: - play the NTSC cart and have an advantage. I am a mediocre player, so I won't be able to attack the top ranks, I guess. - play on emulator with keyboard controls: sucks, and will turn my advantage into a disadvantage - play "Asterix". As far as I can tell, it's the same game, just re-skinned. I do not know, however, if scoring is the same. What do you guys think?
  11. Atari 2600 Porky's: 5 min Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back: 7 min PC (DOS) Silent Hunter: 25 min Nothing new under the sun...
  12. Empire Strikes Back: 358. Never liked that game. Like it even less with keyboard controls. Porky's: no score. Not gonna waste my time (or my cursor keys) with those controls. Now give me my participation point :-).
  13. Atari 2600: King Kong: 6 min Rampage: 25 min Been travelling last week, so very little time. Just got two quick games in for the High Score Club.
  14. Starting with Rampage: 52,550. and King Kong: 890. That was a painful experience...
  15. As long as you are not in a completionist mindset, there are no holes to fill. Well, maybe there are, but you don't care :-).
  16. Oops, sorry about that misunderstanding with the C64 version. It's probably good that this doesn't exist... And yeah, Truxton can get kinda expensive. You need to be very patient on ebay. Every now and then, one seems to slip under the radar and goes for 25 Euro or so. There are of course Chinese repros for much cheaper. Mine is missing the manual, but I'm not that much of a completionist to worry about that. I'm just very happy that I found it in the wild. That's so much more fun than getting it on ebay.
  17. Commando Raid: 57,530. This game was the first game ever that I played in the High Score Club - back in March 2013. My score was similar back then. At least I haven't got worse with age :-).
  18. Since you, thegoldenband, were too busy to play this week (probably because of your little April's Fool forgery :-)), let me jump in with some more gameplay variety: Atari 2600 Commando Raid: 20 min Trick Shot: 20 min SNES Lucky Luke: 10 min Sega Mega Drive Truxton: 12 min Commodore 64 Invade-a-Load: 2 min Lazerforce (Codemasters): 6 min Rigels’s Revenge (Bulldog): 3 min Thunderforce (Hewson): 5 min Apart from playing the new games in the 2600 HSC, I hit a few Easter flea markets in the area and found stuff. Most notably, a rather crusty looking Commodore 64 with a missing floppy drive connection but with a working datasette drive. The whole thing is a huge restoration project for the future (including a retrobrite treatment), but at least it does work. I got the C64 (with 1541, datasette, a box of disks and two joysticks) and Truxton (highly sought-after) for 45 Euro. A great price. "Invade-a-load", by the way, is a Space Invaders clone which is included in a tape-loader routine. So you can play some Space Invaders while you wait for the actual game to load. Everyone who has ever used a datasette before knows that this is most welcome. It even has a nice Rob Hubbard tune, which is also very welcome.
  19. Starting with the bonus game. Trickshot (1T): 16.
  20. PONG: 3 min Commodore VC20 Avenger: 18 min Pac Man: 7 min Rat Race: 3 min Atari Jaguar Cybermorph: 5 min Sega Saturn Sega Rallye 1995: 3 min Philips G7000 Labyrinth Game (#32):3 min What a variety from someone who barely posted anything else but a few minutes of Atari 2600 in recent months... The reason is simple. I visited a Special Exhibition in the Heinz Nixdorf Museum, called "DIGGING DEEP": https://www.hnf.de/en/exhibitions/digging-deep-hidden-treasures-from-the-museums-warehouse.html Among the highlights, apart from the retro corner with the above mentioned playable systems, was definetly an opened up prototype Commodore C16 in all its EPROM glory, as well as several very cool-looking home computers from Eastern Germany - before the fall of the Iron Curtain. ...hope my highscore in "Avengers" stays for the rest of the day...
  21. Atari 2600 Death Trap: 7 min Detection limit again... At least I did get a score in for the HSC.
  22. Late entry for Death Trap. Shame I don't have time to dig my teeth into this. 2,525
  23. Hey... how do you do the small pictures in your post. I find all the giant pics extremely annoying, but can't find a way to make them small.
