  1. A very quick token score for participation. I'm on vacation, and - hard to believe but true - have better things to do than play Atari :-). Game 1BB: 14,200, Rack 5.
  2. Crazy busy recently. At least I was able to testplay my newest C64 homebrew purchase and enter a score for the fresh new High Score Club: Atari 2600 Gorf: 10 min Commodore 64 Aviator Arcade 2: 25 min
  3. Also, here's my score for this week: 14,100. Very little time, because we're going on vacation tomorrow.
  4. Sweet! I'm pretty new as an active Tarantula owner, I only have a Brachypelma hamorii sling and a young Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens lady. They are great fun, though. Especially the GBB.
  5. Welcome to the High Score Club. Unrelated question: Is that an Avicularia something sling in your avatar photo? It's cute :-).
  6. Thanks for clarifying that. I'm glad you did. I was ready to import Dragon Strike a few times in the past, expecting a dragon flight sim campaign. I guess I'll give the NES game with that name a pass then.
  7. I played a lot of Dragonstrike on the Amiga at my friend's house back in the day, and that version is pretty awesome. Not having an Amiga myself at that time, I had to be content with the C64 version at home, which I played through several times. Yes, the C64 version is quite a slideshow, but with my internal "anything AD&D must be great" filter in place, I rather enjoyed it. I did revisit the C64 version a few years ago on an emulator and - of course - couldn't really relive the same experience. But oh well. I have very fond memories of that early time, and still love the concept.
  8. Atari 2600 Alien Menace: 5 min Gingerbread Man: 9 min Lilys Woods: 4 min Mean Santa: 7 min Space Invaders Invasion: 8 min Finally I was able to nick a few minutes to test a lot of homebrews/hacks I obtained from a fellow AA member recently. Of all these, Gingerbread Man is by far the most unique, the others being hacks with no major change of gameplay mechanics. Mean Santa is a nice oddity, and the box and manual are nice. Recently, I slowly started to sell off most of my more modern stuff. In the long run, every bit above 16 has to go, and I want to focus my collection. I actually have a lot of PS1 consoles, some Gamecube stuff, PS2 here and there. All that was mostly "bycatch" anyway - cheap opportunity pickups from flea markets, intended to swap/sell for funds that can go into 8 and 16 bit material.
  9. After a while of absence due to insanely busy real life, here is at least a little contribution: C64 Age of Heroes: 21 min A fairly recent homebrew. Not too bad, but not super brilliant either. Still fun to play. It's a fantasy Conan-Rastan-esque platformer. I bought the download and played it on VICE. Another homebrew, Aviator Arcade II - this time a boxed cart version - is in the mail and should arrive soonish. I'll report when I had a chance to play it.
  10. After a few weeks inactivity due to a busy real life, at least I have gameplay to report. Not much, but that's how it is. Atari 2600 Moon Patrol: 8 min NES Chip 'n Dale 1: 10 min Trog: 6 min All with my son. We probably would have logged some more time, but real life interfered once more...

  12. (still struggling with the new Forum functions...) No gameplay at all for me again. Busy week with little to no opportunity. I should get a small package with homebrews and hacks from a fellow AA member in the course of next week, which I will surely test. So here's hoping that there will be some playtime soon.
  13. The question has been asked before, I assume, but how long would a 1 mil game of Kaboom take?
  14. Atari 2600 Marspatrouille: 8 min Moon Patrol: 10 min PC (DOS) Historyline: 105 min Stumbled across a tank documentary on Youtube, and guess what? It made me want to play Historyline. As if I ever needed an excuse to play that... Managed to hit a flea market earlier today and found Marspatrouille, which is the german Quelle version of Spectravideo's Gas Hog. As far as I can see, it's identical to the original. Quelle games are fun to collect, because they have weird names and sometimes even weirder cover art.
  15. Congratulations, Jason ATARI! Please pm me with your shipping information and your two games of choice (post #17 in this thread) - or if you opt for the $15 gift certificate from the AA store.
  16. Nothing for me this week. Instead: lots of work on a tight schedule, and then a long weekend camping with wife and son.
  17. I really can't tell you, and I don't really want to bother with research for 3 minutes of gameplay on the tracker. I suggest you just put it in here for convenience. It played authentically enough and it's not going to significantly warp the statistics for this week.
  18. Nothing worth mentioning for me last week. If you want to count it: I tested an online version of the original arcade game Lunar Lander by Atari for 3 minutes or so. Visuals were authentic, but of course the cabinet's control panel could not be emulated :-). Up to you if you want to include it or not, Carlsson.
  19. As I already wrote in the Gameplay Tracker thread: Jin, I would - for several reasons - have preferred to have a different final round than this. Hope you'll recover soon, and thanks for the congrats. I can only recommend you try to play in the Paper round.
  20. Well, I have to admit the final round was a little anticlimactic for me. I definetly would have preferred to fight for that bronze medal in order to feel more like I really deserve it. Also, I think it would have been a fun competition. Had you been at the top of your game, I think I would have had a very very (very!) hard time winning this. But first and foremost, I am glad to hear you are recovering!
  21. Atari 2600 Infiltrate: 23 min Toyshop Trouble: 20 min Played these for the bronze medal in the High Score Club. It was a busy week in real life, and I hardly had any time to play and get decent scores. At the moment, however, I am more concerned about my opponent than about my scores. Jin, how are you doing?
  22. @Vocelli: I am flattered that you assume I can score 11k on Frogger. But I'm afraid you noted down my recent Toyshop Trouble score in the wrong line... Also, here's my first score for Infiltrate: 17,550 21,825. Just a tad higher than my season score. I have little to no patience for this game.
  23. Jin, how are you doing? You think you can play? I hope so. Slight improvement in Toyshop Trouble: 11,178.
  24. Release date of the system. Otherwise, AA homebrews or modern C64 releases etc. wouldn't count either. We can't have that :-) Also: welcome!
