Complete Boxed Japanese Atari 2800 on eBay - Not Mine
surfnmadness replied to froggger2's topic in Auction Central
Yes, It was the same unit that sears sold as the Telegames II towards the end. -
Just so this fits into the topic: What was the BIN? (and do I want to know?) $75, which isn't fantastic, but probably worth it for the lot given the nature of some of those carts. and saving yourself the trouble of hunting them individually... Quit thinking you are going to get 14 carts for $2 with such great titles listed. It happens only so rarely around here with all of us posting and telling each other about the great deals on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...28&category=187 I say we all chip a little in. I got $2.25, now we only need $17,497.75

What is funnier yet though is in the area that this was posted. All the others are mocking it with their own, ghost in the bottle t-shirts, shorts, new bottle once your ghost out grows his. This is funny! http://listings.ebay.com/pool3/glistings/l...x.html?from=R11 One of the better ones. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=19270

Multicart #1 available for purchase!
surfnmadness replied to Super-Genius!'s topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Got mine today!!!!! works great too. Only disappointed that 2 games will only work with 400/800 machines. (I have 600XL & 800XL) Any chance someone can do some photocopying or scans of their manuals to put on cd for the cart? I tried playing a few I dont have in my collection but was confused by what to do. Thnx for a great piece of work! -
Video Life and Venture II originals are about the most sought after. (so much so that remakes have been done.) Aside from protos they are the hard ones to find without paying $300+

I read on another site about a CD that someone had put together that had all the starpath games on it, along with some that never made it to market. Forget which site though now per they did not offer the cd, only talk about it's exsistance. *** update *** Found it http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/1698/cy...rpunks/faq.html

How about just posting the link? I did read in an earlier post, this is a PAL (German manual included deal too for my fellow english speaking collectors)

"The most successful video game system in history"
surfnmadness replied to Antneed's topic in Atari 2600
Most kids today have only seen pictures of an Atari. Most of them have never played Atari Adventure but can tell you about most games on the gameboy, NES, PS1 or newer consoles though. The VCS is/was the console that broke open the market. But it's reign was not for long, NES took over around 1990 and has had the ball since. Playstation has also had great success per they took the same path as apple did with the macs. They flood schools with their systems so families had to purchase units so kids could do educational CDs at home. Playstation also made their software easy to copy instead of the cartridge form. (Some how I think playstation and apple must have the same old management) I have mutliple Atari vcs and computers. I love them greatly. I also own the GBA and it totally rocks to be able to play the old coin ops while sitting in an airport or on a trip. And I will be one of the first in line for the new N-gage phones out later this year. http://www.n-gage.com -
Check out this one of a kind item I received today.

Actually, Found that national office supplier Dick Blick carries what they call acid-free poly-bags. Most major cities should have a DB store. -
Dam, To think I had ordered the Graduate keyboard for my system back in the 80's. Then I cancelled it after mom & dad got me an Apple wantabe computer called Franklin 1200. My 2600 went into a box shortly after that and I remember destroying all my boxes for my 100+ carts just to get it all in one box.

I can not beleive I did not bid a little higher. DOH!

Thnx Mega, forgot all about that. BTW, I am in Omaha too. Have you found any place besides Gamers here in Omaha or area for older games? (there supply is like a litter bin. ) sURFN -
I sent word to Ebay staff about the listing. Look for it to be pulled. Time for you to get in your car and drive over and ask her for it now that you know she has it. Or maybe she lives in town where one of us can pick it up for you. sURFN

MattG/Snyper2099 Do one step better, report this auction to Ebay. It violates their rules about beta software. Yesterday they removed a few 5200 proto carts due to violation. This would fall under the same rule. Beta Software Beta, test, and evaluation copies of software are preliminary copies of software distributed by software developers strictly for the purpose of evaluation and troubleshooting. eBay's Policy on beta software: Do not list beta, test, or evaluation copies of software on eBay. Warning Listings offering beta, test or evaluation copies of software may be ended early by eBay. Multiple violations of eBay's beta software policy could result in the suspension of your account. Read more information on copyrights. Bust the Beaoch! sURFN

Guy from UK is selling MAME ROMS and getting away with it!

I have checked the mame site for places to report it, but there does not seem to be any. surfn -
What's up with the label on this BREAKOUT cart?
surfnmadness replied to Room 34's topic in Auction Central
that means there is at least two of them. Look out Venture II, we have one rarer than 24 made! sURFN -
Once the scans are loaded, we can look over what else is still needed in pics. I am sure someone that is on the boards will have a few photos to add. I would also like to request an Atari 8bit section. Digital Press already has the list made up, just needs some photos and tweaks on rarity guides. Thanks sURFN

Guy from UK is selling MAME ROMS and getting away with it!
surfnmadness replied to MrRetroGamer's topic in Auction Central
That is illegal, As MAME programmers point out, they can not distribute the game ROMs with the MAME program per copyright laws. The laws are international, so even UK version of Ebay should be made aware of what this user is doing. sURFN -
WARNING: For newbies, this is not an original !
surfnmadness replied to CPUWIZ's topic in Auction Central
Yeah, Can't you still purchases that from the Atariage store? sURFN -

BLAH!!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?viewi...item=2732834340 Current price: $47.00 Your maximum bid: $46.00 DAM DAM cheap @$$. They go for $90 geez... sURFN -
Looks like you need a dust cover to complete the look. sURFN
-
Worst of it is though, Make a cartridge of it with a little music and it would sell on Atariage for at least $15 a cart. sURFN
-
Agreed, Most of their carts always seem to be in the worst of conditions of any I have in my collection. sURFN
-
So they yanked the item per it is Beta Software?? If they really followed this practice to the letter, they would need to pull lots more, never released, multi carts and for sale only over seas items. sURFN
