Mysterious and Elusive Sears Exclusives (and Braunschweiger)
surfnmadness replied to Room 34's topic in Atari 2600
What would be a good follow up article(s) though would be .... What was the last cartridge ever made by Atari. (others) What order did Activision carts release, first to last. (history) Same as last question but cover each one of the 3rd party vendors. Highlights from the spam museum. -
This was the original "Ghost in a Bottle listed. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2931457201 The others you see are mocking this one. ***Update: Dam, Ebay pulled it***

http://www.atariage.com/cart_page.html?Sof...wareLabelID=825 Still my favorite label of all found in the Atariage database. I would have never purchased this one ebay in this condition.
-
The guy selling his soul was pulled as it was considered as part of a human body, which selling of human parts is violation of ebay rules. I have to say some of the goofest stuff I have seen is garbage for sale (real peoples garbage) to the "ghost in the bottle" stuff of recent.

Guaranteed Wierdest eBay Auction of the Year..SOLD $50,922
surfnmadness replied to Joystick Jolter's topic in Auction Central
I was more amused reading the other auctions listed mocking this one. http://listings.ebay.com/aw/plistings/list...x.html?from=R11 Most of these have cleared off already but they where for things like, lease for ghost that escaped, baby ghost in bottle (gerber bottle) and shirts & shorts with "I bid on ghost in a bottle on Ebay!" on them. Look for this one to be next on the heckling by others list. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=19270 -
Can't Charge Extra For Pay Pal Credit Card Fee
surfnmadness replied to ussexplorer's topic in Auction Central
You actually can charge the fee as part of the shipping/HANDLING charge or switch to another service like Bidpay and make the buying flip the bill. Seller is still stuck with ebay listing fee though. -
More surprised the seller did not use key words like RARE, VINTAGE or HARD TO FIND. Always get a giggle out of a good 2600 Combat, Asteroids or ET auction with all three of the above used.

Star Raiders, ET phone home, Space Shuttle have an ending. The sport games like basketball/football etc with a timer would have an ending.

Multicart #1 available for purchase!
surfnmadness replied to Super-Genius!'s topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
All sorts of programs only made on cassette and disk that could be put to multicart format. The Hollex cart sort of solves this, but we really need a cart that the original game image can be loaded into and run. -
800xl week video signal... fixable?
surfnmadness replied to darkman's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I had to open up mine and play with the video out adjustments. Seems after 20+ years they needs a little tweaking to get the output of color and contrast I expected. You will see 6 screws on the bottom, remove them and flip the keyboard over to the right hand side. Boot a good color base cart (i used frogger) in the computer and adjust the output screws, upper left side of box with a plastic screwdriver. You will also find a color adjuster located in the bottom left. There is also mods to upgrade the video out to S-video, but I still want my unit original. Maybe I will buy a spare and play with that one some day. This is the link to the super video upgrade. http://www.wolfpup.net/atari/supervid.html -
Unfortunately, this has started to happen now that rare carts are going for over $100. Problem is remaking the box and instructions to match. Just remember, if you want a rare cart, best bet is always someone in these forums.

Adventure Nothing beats the original graphical one!

Guy from UK is selling MAME ROMS and getting away with it!
surfnmadness replied to MrRetroGamer's topic in Auction Central
Mendon, by guys like this one in this topic doing what they are doing, the game makers have a path now back to mame to sue it's makers for such a great product. -
would look for it to go for over $200 with the recent rash of carts going up for sale.
-
My Dataage carts are the worst for labels. Atari is the champ of labels, even the oldest ones (blacks) are holding up.

Time to have Marco take a look.

Mysterious and Elusive Sears Exclusives (and Braunschweiger)
surfnmadness replied to Room 34's topic in Atari 2600
The very first Atari-labeled game was Raiders of the Lost Ark. The last Sears labeled game was Star Raiders. Definitely... I noticed that the transition from the Sears brand to the Atari brand coincides precisely with the transition from the black picture labels to the silver labels. (Hmmm... wait... did Star Raiders come out after Math Gran Prix and Demons to Diamonds?) Demons to diamonds July 82 Star Raiders Sept 82 Math Grand Prix July 82 This is per the Atari 49 Carts Catalog estimated date of availability -

Anybody get their trades with Pooyan yet?
surfnmadness replied to MegaManFan's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Why can't someone that is located near him take a drive over and visit him? If that is his account on ebay, he sure seems to have $$$ to spend, look at some of the items. $45, $20, etc. If this guy was near me, even within a 100 mile range, I would gladly drive over and see what is up. -
I can not beleive I did not bid a little higher. DOH!
surfnmadness replied to surfnmadness's topic in Auction Central
Thanks Megaman, I should start going to garage sales more often anyway. Got a pregnant wife that wants baby clothes so would be good for both of us. -
