  1. I snagged this recently "Spongebob Bikini Bottom 500" not your hard-core racing game , but it's pretty cool not only you turn the wheel for direction you pull back or push forwards as instructed on the screen must have some kind of mercury switches in it for motion
  2. it's possible it COULD be a rare one ... http://atariage.com/forums/topic/161431-a-unique-2600jr/?hl=+single%20+chip but if it's a standard one you can still have a great deal of fun with it any games come with it ?
  3. yeah in the amount you overpaid you will make back in knowlege when shop owner says "flat price for each" I look through them ALL to find the ones I venture might be above that price range elsewhere, shop owner said $5 each & I kinda grimaced but looked anyways , found a Snoopy & The Red Baron ($12-$25) & Food fight ($3-$5) so I came out a little ahead at first but Food fight didn't work .... re-purposed the shell On a Cosmic Creeps I got for free because PCB was floating around on inside will shoot ya a PM: I have some badly water damaged ones & in with those I had a pretty good one the one on the left I tested & it works : ( I even cleared a whole screen \o/ ) ... the others I didn't plug into my unit !!! center one perhaps desoldering sheilding & taking a brass brush to remove rust may recover that one the one to the right the board looks bubbled but the IC chip may be ok ... would desolder that & install on a good board your welcome to all 3 PCB's ... if your soldering / de-soldering skills are lacking these would be great test subjects as they are pretty much ruined already
  4. looks like an atari 2600 Jr. the small image & flash kind of hard to tell if "long rainbow" or "short rainbow" I'd say pretty common & should be inexpensive enough to let the kiddies play on it , they'll have fun http://atariage.com/2600/archives/consoles.html
  5. just got my stuff in a trade with AlecRob & it went great, he gave me other feedback profiles for my comfort from well established sites & snapped some pics for me items were super clean, packaged very nicely & shipped quick went above & beyond, Thanks again: chas10e

    vectrex?

that "sticker" is VERY difficult to remove so do it with patience & love to beable to replace it properly the atari cart spring needs a little modification to reduce the diameter of the spring a tiny bit if your planning just to sell I'd say leave controller for the collector to repair with label intact but do mention joystick on one doesn't return to center only a few games require 2'nd joystick like Armor Attack
  7. received a couple Atari 5200 carts from Kida0723 & they were very well packaged , clean & worked great.
  8. I suppose it's possible for volume switch contacts to get dirty or cold solder joint someplace make a note which way the throttle control plug is oriented on the board before you unplug it , no need to completely remove throttle pot or speaker as I did but I was able to do it without unloading the throttle spring some pics of your board to if you please I have a non-working unit , someone penciled on the board "no picture" in upper right before I acquired it but I wound up getting a picture eventually just pushing on what I believe to be a color pot to the right of IC chip (sheilding removed) my game still doesn't seem to start & my diagnostic skills are still limited when I twist throttle the bike on screen does a brief wheelie but doesn't move
  9. tried different carts ? or wiggle cart see if picture improves maybe the channel selector switch ? contacts inside them can get dirty, they can be opened up without soldering from board to clean contacts could also be voltage regulator or a big capacitor. better to check these with a multimeter instead of just replacing them
  10. also try that set of paddles in RIGHT controller port with a 4 player game like Warlords or Video Olympics just to rule out problems with the paddles themselves
  11. http://www.arcaderepairtips.com/2011/04/07/repairing-monitor-collapse-issues/ place carding this here hope it helps
  12. sweet .... working for me now
  13. is it same as this ? http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/index.php?topic=1225.0
  14. you using batteries or an AC power supply ? I wonder if power draw from the gun might be over taxing some weak batteries

    32X issue

thats good news .... I don't have a 32x yet ...is there a big difference in the games ?
  16. that looks like the instruction sticker the placed inside hard shell cases for Blockbuster Rentals also that one looks unused
  17. recently got back on the Internet ..although still borrowed so no guarantee how long I will be connected this time ... snagged v1.05 & put on my Harmony mostly play Heartbreak & the colors look fantastic ... still using on my imperfect TV but got the highest score I had ever gotten 027,100 both difficulty switches were set to "b" or beginner so the ball didn't speed up til 14k or so thanks to all that helped with this project some great original games here !!!!
  18. just picked up one of these at a thrift store for a dollar \o/ so I'll be able to play a bit more of your game on Stella emulator I was told if I tried a PAL game on an older TV with vertical hold I may be able to adjust the picture to make it work in NTSC land The setup I have on THAT TV happened to be my 7800 so I stuck my Harmony in that for the first time ... the door release tabs in the console didn't want to open the door of the Harmony ...I wasn't going to force it & break something so I manually opened door & was able to load cart in console. when I navigated to your game it appeared fine on the TV was able to clear first wave, next screen I remember a large ship with 2 colums of missiles I guess ...when I got to the ship at top of screen the game crashed I suspect it was the combination if hardware & trying to use it in wrong TV standard also I breifly tried in a Vader unit same Harmony cart on a newer LED TV my nephews bought ... screen appeared black & white but game seemed somewhat playable .... I didn't try & mess with their TV settings at all it's getting late right now: just wanted to report my discoveries & find new ways to break your game I'll try & get past I suppose the boss level I reached sometime this weekend
  19. signed up over there ... I noticed some color changes & stuff ...should be another game of the week poll coming I honestly joined 'cause ilovethevectrex is the one who told me that a Vectrex even existed & now I'm the proud owner of one \o/ the site is as cross-platformed as this one ...only some of the names have changed to protect the innocent
  20. now THAT's something you can go cross country in !!!
  21. the atariguide link only shows the "white label varient" http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-frankenstein-s-monster_7316.html show both silver & white
  22. will shoot a PM latta good titles !!!!
  23. I honestly not very good at any Pac Man ... Ms. Pac-Man for the 2600 is a better port from the arcade version , Pac Man Jr is done well too . I understand the managers at Atari wanted the designer to use 2k chips & not the more expensive 4k chips (whatever that means ) so if compared with the arcade version that EVERYbody has seen ... it isn't quite the same Space Invaders is a great game for the 2600 ... really common so a cart should be easy to get I read the wikipedia article you linked (obviously missing a couple games )
