also on the bottom the screws are closer to the surface on the cx-10 I like the creaking & groaning the springs make inside for some odd reason if I see a grey adapter in a junk bin someplace I'll let ya' know

open up the pots (potentiometers) as shown in that guide ... & remove all the old "atari grease" ... if metal tines as shown new "Di-electric grease" can be applied (got mine @ Wal-mart near automotive bulbs) if there is a carbon contact block (& not little metal tines) Don't use the grease !!!

Slowcoders guide to cleaning > post #23 > paddles you could put " broken joys ~FREE~ " in market place ..... "just pay shipping" what wrong with them anyways ?

I'll shoot you a PM ... put a strike through a few of yours for a few of mine ... -
great presentation & format (by year of release) good positive outlook on the games as well ... I did like Slot Racers as a kid when it was released ... today it doesn't hold teh same magic it seems still my fav is Indy 500 .... hadn't tried Sprint Master but your Vid will have me looking for it I need a Harmony cart for sure ....

just don't overheat the board & laminate ... my experience with the bulb iron ... works better with a lead coming through the board to position it & help hold it in place using your other hand on teh far end is a really BAD idea get a glass spit jar to braid works really well on flat surfaces & drawing solder out of holes practice on other junk boards ...but also know newer boards will be easier to remove items than a 30 year old one .... adding NEW solder to help remove old hardened solder helps too I was using the wrong size solder also ... the real skinny stuff works pretty good when you re-install the part think it's 0.032 - 60/40 Rosin Core

Pitfall for the 2600 should fit in your 7800 ... the 5200 pitfall is a monster I'm gonna guess it's it's for the Atari 400 / 800 computer

I went Lives to Left & power-ups to right ... trying to remember on other games Defender came up first on the list they were able to make the lives the shape of the ship & smart bombs another shape ... that helps with distinguishing the two
-
the dollar twenty five part @ Best Electronics will cost you at least $30.00 $20.00 minimum order think he does expedited shipping w/ tracking & charges insurance also a terrific resource but ....

Sear Pong (I'm counting cuz haz Atari name on switch) Sear Pong IV (I'm counting cuz the above unit haz Atari thing on switch ) 2 '77 Heavy sixer 1 '78 Heavy Sixer (w/ channel switch) (left controller port borked ...think IC chip problem) 1 4 switch woody 1 Vader 1 4-port 5200 1 7800 total rings up to 9 I'd say ... teh Ms Pac-man PnP would be pushing it IMO

I snapped my b/w switch off a long time ago & also my game select switch ... prolly happened around 1979-'80 two years or so after I got my unit .... been butter knives after that ... I did get some switches from Best mebbe 6 months back ... just before that I was able to figure out how to attach a replacement handle & worked really well , but didn't have original piece that broke off I'm hoping you do ... I drilled a hole into the switch base.... that is an electrical wire staple I cut .....& not having rest of handle for switch , for my experiment is a plastic coat hanger ... I dis-assembled switch first using SlowCoder's method but may have been able to skip that step if you still have original broken piece yours will look a lot better

was @ a game store today ... was rummaging through a box & found some loose 2600 carts .... after a bit I noticed they said "not working" ... so I snagged 'em hoping to get 'em to work got a cx-10 joy out of teh box too ... something bad with PCB in it so I swapped out out ( doesn't have that "clicky" sound but works & looks great ! now on to teh games
