  1. Nice song by the way. I am assuming then that the game uses the Intellivoice
  2. Actually (correct me if I'm wrong), during the 80s the pork lobby in the US pushed towards classifying pork meat as white meat. The reason was that studies at the time started showing the relationship between red meat and heart disease, so in order to dissociate from the bad news, the lobby unilaterally announced that pork meat is a white meat. Pork meat was supposed to be as healthy as chicken meat (which seems not to be true, of course). Well that is the story as it was told to me, we will eventually have to verify this info.... Cheers
  3. First of all... Congratulations for the 3rd place. Thank you for sharing the game with us. Looks awesome. I will definitely give it a try! Cheers and congrats again!
  4. As Obi Wan once said "Only a Sith deals in absolutes..." MMM... I think that Rev is turning to the Dark Side
  5. Hey jblenkle, Great score! Remember there is a 50,000 point bonus for finishing the level without crashing. Cheers!
  6. LOL, that's very funny! I agree Imagic overlays (an boxes too) are very unique, "magical".
  7. A little bit out of season but cool stuff nevertheless. Thank you Lid. Cheers!  (one thumb up for each video
  8. Baconator? I have just made a quick google search to figure out what that was: At least the water is healthy
  9. Well... so far we have compiled a list of games that are kids-friendly for the Blockyvision. In no particular order these games are: Sharp Shot, Triple Action, Shark Shark, Carol vs Ghost, Frog Bog, Frogger, Pac Man, Snafu and Thin Ice. Any more? I think that we should add to this list only games that we have already been tried and tested with our little subjects. I agree with Jaybird, games like Burger Time, Diner or Thunder Castle although nice on paper might be a tad bit difficult for them. They might enjoy watching but not yet playing. Cheers and thanks for all your contributions. This is a very nice thread.
  10. My nieces had exactly the same comments. They also told me that at least the game should be made available on the iPad (hint DZ BTW the girls kept on mentioning that the snowman "talked" and I could not understand what they were trying to say. "It is not an Intellivoice game!" I thought to myself. What happened is that the repetitive sound that accompanies the arrival of the snowman made them think that the snowman was saying "Ik kom, ik kom..." (which means "Here I come..." in Dutch). Children.
  11. "What does Billy have now?" Well, actually according to some scientists in the US the answer to that question is: Heart Disease! From BBC News: "A chemical found in red meat explains why eating too much steak, mince and BACON is bad for the heart, say US scientists." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-22042995 "In the UK, the government recommends eating no more than 70g of red or processed meat a day - the equivalent of two slices of BACON." So less Burger Time and more Super Pro Decathlon my friends
  12. Got our patches today. Thank you very much Rev! We thoroughly enjoyed the competition and we appreciate all the attention to detail in the package and prizes. Very cool stuff! Thanks again! Oscar (and Karima)
  13. "Blockivision... still blocky after all these years". Great one!
  14. Three new games added to the "kids friendly" section. Thank you very much for the sound advice I agree that the mesmerising power of Snafu may put a spell on kids. Cheers.
  15. Well... this is an old jersey: And this is a New Jersey:
  16. Even if paddles don't work on Botz... I am in!
  17. Hey, great to hear this beautiful story. I had a similar experience recently with my two nieces. I was participating in the Carol vs the World competition while they observed. They eventually wanted to give it a try to Carol vs Ghost and they got hooked. They ended up participating in the competition, my elder niece (12) got a pretty decent score and achieved a Ranger elf status. The youngest one (7) also participated. They were so much into the Intellivision that they were making drawings and eventually one of them wrote a fan letter to DZ-Jay. Thanks for the advice about Sharp Shot. I will make them try out this fantastic game out. Cheers!
  18. Of course it looks beautiful. It is an Imagic game! Imagic games are like Pink Floyd music, sometimes experimental and difficult to grasp but eventually beautiful. Higher art.
  19. Same situation with me guys. I loved tennis and had to have friends over to play. We had epic matches! Amazing simulation and sound. I loved the eyes of the crowd following the ball.
