  1. I think that is a guide to be used with the ECS. The ECS basic has some commands that allow you to extract the graphics of the cartridge that is inserted on the unit. Quite cool in my opinion. I spent one entire afternoon playing with this function. Insert a cartridge, write the command and a number. See what sprite shows up. Try different numbers with the command. Insert a new cartridge and repeat the process. BTW I am not a programmer I was only following the instructions from the manuals of the ECS. Unfortunately the numbers that you put next to the command to extract the sprites are quite random so you end up extracting random sprites from the games. Enter the guide: It contains a series of tables that match the sprites with the ECS numbers for a number of Mattel games. Cool stuff! I hope this helps. Oscar
  2. Indeed... the blue key is the only one that you eventually need. If you get it take good care of it.
  3. Wow! The Easter look of the Carol site is awesome. Love it. Happy Easter to you DZ as well. Well Happy Easter to all... don't eat too many chocolate eggs. Cheers!
  4. However, can we know what the next game is going to be? I have a little bit of time to play. The Noon Central Time is a nice time slot for changing the game as it gives everybody some time in the weekend to try the new game out.
  5. Hey Felson, I understand what happened to you. You got "respawned". Since the objective of the game is to kill the minotaur and not to accumulate loot then in later levels the game gives you the "chance" to continue instead of being killed. When this happens you lose your bag/loot and get teletransported to somewhere else in the maze. Respawning is quite annoying if you are going for high scores (which is not the original purpose of the game). I have been respawned several times in the same game which is quite frustrating if you have spent hours playing and trying to build up loot. In other words, you lose your loot and your bag but you get to keep what you are wearing on you (armour, rings and the items on both your hands). Sometimes I am not carrying with me valuable pick ups like the magic books (tele transportation, wall vision, etc.) or higher keys so as to avoid loosing them in case I get respawned. I simply leave them on the floor in a place that is easy to access and pick them up before leaving the level. Do not forget to pick them up before leaving the level though!!!!
  6. Hey Jacob, From a quick look at your screenshots I realised that you are carrying in your bag some items that you might want to use. For instance in the left pic you are carrying a money bag. If you press open while the bag is at your feet you can open it and then pick up the loot (of course you could also carry the money bag with you if you want to throw it at a monster in order to escape). Quite useful strategy as the key to survival in the earlier stages is to avoid fights with enemies that are stronger than you. By the way, the go back/escape button is also key for survival in earlier stages. In the pic on the right you are carrying a ring in your bag. If you put the ring on your right hand and then press use, the ring disappears and your middle stats will go up a little bit (actually what happens is that you are wearing the ring on you). This same principle applies to the pieces of armour and helmets. I hope this helps! Oscar
  7. Actually, originally the Dendy's were the semi-official soviet consoles. However, it is my understanding that Dendy is also a generic name in Russian for any video game console. So many famicon clones in Russia will be called Dendys while not only being the original brand. It is quite common to find modern "Dendys" in the North of Europe. So I do not think that it will be worth tracking down one of those anyway. Here in Belgium at times you can find some for 10 euros. Cheers and good luck!
  8. No, I don't think so. But perhaps you could find some Dendys! http://en.wikipedia....Dendy_(console) Have a nice trip by the way!
  9. Cool... amazing. I am so happy that Las Vegas Poker and Blackjack is getting the respect it deserves. It is such a great game.
  10. I beg to differ Tarmin is very enjoyable; however it has a huge learning curve. It doesn't have the pick up and play simplicity of its predecessor tough. Great score by the way! Cheers!
  11. Hello guys, Yesterday I had an Epic (more than 4 hours long) go at Tarmin. The good news is that I found the Minotaur... The bad news is that I did not manage to kill it I took a photo. The Minotaur is actually behind a wall. I found the book that permits seeing through walls. Very useful indeed. Unfortunately, the monsters deep in the dungeon are quite powerful and the bombs concealed inside the treasure containers proved to be devastating My highest score was: 720 points. Cheers, Oscar
  12. Another official game for this game is Crown of Kings. The name once the the license was lost. This is similar to Minotaur, the name of Treasure of Tarmin after the license expired. Cheers.
  13. I think that the 125 Club includes the releases in all regions. There are some games in those 125 that are European exclusives (e.g. Parker Bros Tutankham and Super Cobra and Dextell's Tennis and Soccer). Many of them, like the INTV corporation's (I think) were exclusive US releases. Cheers, Oscar
  14. I have just got the movie and saw it again after so many years. Cool stuff. I also want to confirm that I am in
  15. Hello Guys. I am enclosing my latest score in Minotaur Oscar G. - 490 points This is a great game. Playing in difficult mode is such a big challenge. Good luck to everyone. Thanks cParsley for organising such a cool tournament. Cheers!
  16. Great 1000th post. I wish you thousands more! I agree, this is a great community. All the best.
  17. Hello ilovedvec and welcome to INTV collecting. I agree with the comments, both the Intellivision and the Vectrex are some of the coolest most underrated consoles of all time. Both have amazing controllers that serve very well their original purpose: the INTV for strategic/action games and the Vectrex for the arcade feeling. I agree with INTV dude, both consoles complement each other very well. Welcome again and I will read you around!
  18. Hey guys, this is my latest score entry. Still heartless and still short of the 70K Oscar G. - 69,480 points Cheers!
  19. By the way River. I am enclosing an internal memo from Mattel UK from 13 October 1982 with a list of released and upcoming games. Some of the games like Minator (sic; problably AD&D TofT), Card Fun and Land Battle may have been released with different games. I hope this helps. PS: I will check if I have other documentation that can help to compile such a list. I think I have some UK Fan Club Newsletters stored somewhere
