  1. Now I have to go to Night Stalker... I don't want to get knocked out from the tournament
  2. Hello guys... here is my first submission for the D2K competition. Cheers!
  3. Or even better... get yourself an Atari Module for the Intellivision II and you will technically still be within the borders of your hobby Remember, with the Atari Module the INTV library expanded to thousands of games...
  4. AD&D Cloudy Mountain... one of the most innovative games ever! So ahead of its time, no score (actually no numbers at all)... pure adventure. Amazing adventure with no need of an item management interface. One of the first ever really scary games. The sound of a sleeping monster is one of the creepiest things ever. Bump and Jump and all the Data East games (Burger Time, Lock N Chase, Mission X) are fantastic. I read somewhere that Thin Ice started as a conversion of another Data East arcade game. I will no be surprised as it is also a fantastic game. All gems... the start of the Japanese invasion! Cheers and good luck in your collecting!
  5. Hey Liduario, Thank you for creating this thread. It will make the submission of scores way easier. Great score BTW. This is a tough game. I will try to post something tonight. Cheers and good luck to all!
  6. Indeed, Carol is a lovely game and the controls and pace are its greatest assets. Congratulations on the great coverage and reviews! It deserves it. When is it going to be official that Carol is the Game of the Year 2012? It is evident that it is well above and beyond any other (some of them fantastic) releases of the year.
  7. Hey Dz, These are good scores. I was around the 20k the first time I sat down and played it. It seems that Liduario had a similar experience. I agree with you, the controls are very sluggish. That was my first impression after not having played the game for many, many years. Indeed, Carol controls are sweet and responsive so it is a great shock to play NS after the Carol Experience. The remake sounds like an awesome idea. Let us know if you decide to proceed with it. Perhaps, if you start working on it you might be carried away and add a couple of extras like the "legendary" spider web or something on that vein. In this way the spider will be qualitatively different than the bats. Cheers! O
  8. Pac-Man Fever Remake by Astrosmash... there is the Intellivision connection! BTW INTV Pac Man... best home conversion of its generation! Mazzinger Z another classic. I do not know about DVD's... I will keep my antennas up.
  9. Thanks for the update cparsley. Are all those players at the bottom of the list with a score of zero... snippers? Beware Liduario!
  10. Hey INTV dude, Congratulations, you deserve your Ranger patch. You worked hard for it and you improved your game a lot towards the end of the tournament. DZ's Carol-package looks awesome, he puts love into everything he does Cheers, Oscar
  11. First of all, thank you very much Jason for the sound advice, it is very kind of you to share this knowledge. On a different note, have you guys realised that Intellivision collecting strictly adheres to the "Pareto Principle" or the 80/20 principle? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareto_principle This statistical principle is used in many fields (principally economics and business management) and it roughly states that 20% of the customer base contributes to 80% of sales, or 20% of operations take 80% of resources and so on. In this case the last 20% of the Intellivision collection will take 80% of your savings... just don't tell your wife
  12. Great artwork and box design. Reminds me AD&D Lonely Mountain in terms of feeling. Good luck with the last steps of the project. The clean cart is a paradigm shifter. I have always loved the design of the INTV carts (Mattel, Activision and Imagic principally) and this is a great step forward. BTW, The red cartridges, Interphase I think, are also awesome. I think they also came from Canada. More cool design from the Great White North! On a different note, I have a CC3 and a PAL console if you need help with the testing. Cheers and congratulations again!
  13. Wow! These look fantastic. I love the baseball overlay (2nd model). I might be interested if you produce the set. Despite I do not own any Sears version I am a big fan of any kind of quality overlays.
  14. Yep, I remember those robots. I didn't know they were called Force 5/Shogun Warriors. My mom bought my brothers and me some of the die cast models. Very cool toys. If I remember well this was the summer of 1980 and the Toy store was Toys R Us in Torrance, California. Ah... the memories... Pac Man Fever was a hit song at the time and I got my first Atari for my birthday that summer. $139.99 in Kmart. I still have the robots somewhere. I will try to dig them out and post a picture. They are a little bit beaten up tough. Too much playing with them
  15. Wow! This is a very interesting video. I had no idea about the strategy of Tron Deadly discs. I should try it. From what I understand one can have the functionality of a kind of a double analogue controller by playing with the two controllers at the same time. That's wicked! Thanks for the posting!
  16. Hello, Here is my score for the KO competition. Night Stalker - 55,900 pts. (disc level of difficulty) Cheers!
  17. Hello, I would like to join the KO competition too. MMM Night Stalker... sounds like Carol's Twisted Toyland with guns... Count me in! Thanks for the invite
  18. Hello, I agree with some of the previous postings: The Vectrex is an amazing console! I am particularly fond of Shmups and there is a lot of variety and quality here. I am also a big fan of the controller, it is very solid and has a cool arcade feel. In my opinion, the Vectrex is the closest that you could get to have the arcade experience at home in the pre-crash era. Go for it! Cheers, O PS I have read that the Vectrex's number of homebrew releases has actually surpassed the original number of games. I am not very sure about this fact but this sounds very cool. PS2 The Vectrex has overlays too... and who doesn't love overlays?
  19. Congratulations Dryfter... that is a milestone.
  20. Thank you DZ for organizing the Carol Winter Experience. Congratulations to all the participants!
  21. Welcome to the Intellivision! I am particular fond of the Data East arcade conversions: Burger Time, Bump and Jump and Lock and Chase are masterpieces. To a lesser extent Mission X. From Activision Stampede and Happy Trails are must haves and highly addictive. Advanced Dungeons and Dragons is another one that is one of a kind, extremely scary immersive and addictive. Imagic games are very good: You are for a great start with Demon Attack and Beauty and the Beast! Good luck!
  22. I completely agree with this recommendation. Tron Deadly Discs is an exclusive hidden gem.
  23. Hello DZ, It is very kind of you to have shared the Carol vs Ghost game with everybody. This is the reason why boys and girls of all ages enjoyed the game. December 2012 was a great month for the INTV. I would never have thought that my nephews would ask me to play Intellivision in 2012! I am pretty sure that once P-Machinery is released the INTV community will have another shake down and the INTV will be more popular. Hopefully the world will eventually recognize what a great console the Intellivision IS (and not was). Best wishes to all of you!
