  2. Hello everyone... it is Midnight in Belgium and the fireworks are cracking... Happy New Year!... I have prepared this message for all of you dear Elves: Dear friends at CvW Competition! It has been a real pleasure to share with you the Carol experience for the last month. This was my first INTV competition and I really had a blast! I would really like to thank dZ for creating such a fun game and setting up a friendly tournament. I hope that 2013 will see the release of other great Intellivision games and why not...   5. Congratulations to both INTVdude and 1980gamer for the great scores! INTV dude, I knew you will be able to break the 2K barrier. Don't focus on points, focus on Saving Xmas a second time! It seems that Ranger Elves will get Ranger Elves Patches, which kind of makes sense.

  7. Hello INTVdude, I have another piece of advice that might be useful. This advice is on top of the "ignore the red dots" principle. My advice is "don't pick up gifts or snowflakes immediately". Sometimes you have to stand next to them and wait until you "understand" what is going to happen when you pick the item up. This strategy can be used to control the snowman and the ghost. As dZ mentioned before, you control the snowman with snowflakes as picking one up changes its direction of movement (the snowflakes simply stun the ghost). Whereas, if the ghost is moving picking up one gift will make him run after you, picking a second one will make it change its direction. In few words, TIME YOUR PICKUPS. This is a powerful strategy that is key for survival in stages like "Icicle Lanes", "Frosted Maze" or "Snowflake Garden". I hope this helps! BTW remember to HAVE FUN. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the game better take a break or some fresh air. Cheers!
  8. Hey Liduario, I totally agree with you. The point of the entire competition is to have fun and to enjoy the ride. Let's hope that there will not be last minute ghosts that appear and that snatch the Xmas presents

  10. Hello Intellivision Dude, I may give you a hint that works very well for me. Ignore the Red Candies. Forget about perfect scores. Go for the Gifts and Save Xmas. I have observed my niece playing and she doesn't know about perfect scores nor red candies. Yet she made it to Ranger Level. The goal of a perfect Xmas is achievable however I found that it distracts a lot. Liduario some time ago posted a hint. Play until your last life then practice the level where you finish. This is a great hint and may explain why LIduario is a Grand Elf Master. I will only add one little thing: forget about the red candies! Cheers and above all... have fun!

  13. Congratulations Liduario on a great score! After saving Xmas (all of them), what would our rank be? Masters of the Universe? I was also too happy to fully concentrate after after saving Xmas 4x + the scare of the Kill Screen (very funny dZ ) Not to mention that one has to have a camera ready + thinking about the possibility of a power cut. I can't believe that we almost simultaneously passed the 6K mark. Life is so unfair: I now have to go to sleep while you still have half a day of play ahead of you. I'm running out of emoticons so bye!

Master Elf PS1: I have one existential question: Is Carol Greenleaf related to Legolas Greenleaf? That would explain how Carol got the gig in the LOTR film. PS2: I have now a paradoxical question: Am I supposed to save Xmas during Xmas time? If so, this will mean I will lose my Xmas in order to save Xmas.
