  1. 40GB drive isn't stock. XBOX came with an 8GB drive, so its already had its HD upgraded. I'd recommend getting a great big hard drive, and throwing CoinOps on it. The biggest drive you can put on there is a 2TB, but to do so you'll need a SATA to IDE adapter, and it has to be one that has master/slave jumpers on it. If it is soft modded, I'd recommend doing a TSOP flash so you can really get going with it.
  2. I'm one of those WD fan boys. and I've paid ridiculous amounts for some titles; still haven't been able to find a nice CIB of this title that I can justify buying; but I will!! I'm sure I'm just going to end up paying crazy eBay prices. RIP PS2, I still have 8 fat PS2's, never had a slim. ...I feel like I should horde a few more machines and buy a few replacement lasers while they are still available...
  3. I'm trying to resurrect one of my C64's, and sadly she has a bad SID chip. With all of the "chip-tune" music folks out there these days, supplies of good original chips are really hard to come by. If some one has one or could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it. thanks you!
  4. Interesting thread! And, I'm not really sure where I fit in to it. I own all of the hardware, tons of consoles (multiples of most of them) tons of carts, tons of cds, all generations... and lots of emulators and hundreds of gigs of ROM's and ISO images for tons of systems that I play in emulators (and real hardware - I often will play "backups" on my Saturn, Sega CD, Gamecube, or PS1) Recently, I've moved and EVERYTHING I own except for about two weeks worth of clothes, my bed, and my computer is still in boxes (and will stay that way until I move again, hopefully very soon) in the meantime; I've been playing through emulators, of all of my systems.. I haven't had a hard time playing whatever I want, If I want something, I'll buy the cart / CD / DVD whatever it is released on, and then if I want to play it on an emulator, I'll just dump it and then play it on an emulator. I do understand that not everyone has the hardware to do that kind of thing though. So, like I said; I don't know where I fit in to this scene, I support independant people by buying the products that I want; but I also spend plenty of time on a few private tracker torrent sites.... EDIT: though.. we ARE in the 2600 forum, right? I have 15 2600's.... I've never paid for one - I have bought a few controllers, but all of my 2600 systems have been gifted / found in friends homes and given to me, or LITERALLY found at the dump... I'm pretty sure if you really want to play something that doesnt have a released ROM that you could obtain a 2600 for almost no cost; then you could just buy the game and play it. ...Want a CRT TV to hook it up to? check out craigslist; people are literally giving them away.
  5. The Mac wont power on to the desktop without a hard drive.. and the auction states it doesn't have a hard drive... so, it wont get to the desktop.
  6. Pretty sure everyone has seen this now with all of the posts....
  7. HAHAHAHAAHAH!!! Thank you for giving me the best laugh I have had in days!!! Branching out from just the video on their site I found a little piece on Kotaku about them, and BAM read the comments, and one of their "marketing geniuses" was all over the comments, and he cant spell either!!
  8. GC Laser replacement is easy as pie. I've done probably 20 of them so far. and a few mods, I bought the ViperGC as soon as it came out and modded my GC, its been working since then.
  9. Thats a great thread!! There are a lot more "compatible" drives then there were since the last time I checked (around 03) thanks for the link
  10. none of the PC 3.5 drives I had were compatible; even with modification. so - I now have two A500's that dont work. Although, they aren't a priority for me any more - I'll get them going again one day
  11. I wouldn't donate a single dime. You can't even be bothered to spell half of the crap in your posts properly, nor can you actually convey your intent. No thanks.
  12. Good videos of it can usually be seen at the end of the Talking Dead episodes posted online. at the end of each episode the host, Chris Hardwick, challenges his guests to play it, and they usually play for about five minutes or so each episode. It seems kind of neat, but it is very simplistic.
  13. One thing to note, if you are buying an A500 on eBay... make sure that the seller has it tested and working. If you're floppy drive fails, well then you are SOL, not gonna even boot in to the workbench... and replacement floppy drives for the A500 are tough to come by, the are NOT the same as regular 3.5" PC drives.
  14. First? Northstar Horizon, with an external 8" floppy and a nice green phosphour terminal. it was frigging sweet, had a wooden case, and I still have it!! Second was a VIC-20 (that one was sold by me to raise funds for a C64) Third was a C64 Then an A500 I remember sometime around 93 i also got a 486DX2 66... which was pretty much bleeding edge at the time, had a 14.4K modem too. ...which was a big leap forward from my first modem, which was a 300baud Commodore modem (which I did quickly replace with the 1200)
