I'm pretty sure that the Apple and the IBM both had 150K Ohm Pots in a Resistance configuration, and the Tandy Color Computer uses a 100K Ohm in a Voltage Divider configuration.. I have Apple ][, IBM and Tandy JoySticks, so I should go and test them all... MarkO

Hello Boat!!!! Once Upon a Time, "they" made Floppy Mailers, just for such an occasion... The Cardboard Sandwich, describe above is always an option, or even a Cardboard Mailer or one of the USPS Flat Rate Boxes... MarkO.

It could be an Issue with the JoyStick, but if it works fine on the //e Platinum, it is likely an issue with the Non Enhanced ][e... The Apple ][ uses a Tricky Hardware Circuit, that uses a 555 IC, ( actually the 558, which is a Quad-555 ) to Charge some Captors, based on the Resistance of the Potentiometer in the JoyStick, to determine the Position.. where is the BASIC.SYSTEM file in Copy 2 Plus 8.1?
MarkO replied to newTIboyRob's topic in Apple II Computers
Some of the Community Updates to ProDOS also removed the requirement on the 65C02, letting them run on Earlier Apple ][s than the Enhanced //e.. MarkO -
where is the BASIC.SYSTEM file in Copy 2 Plus 8.1?
MarkO replied to newTIboyRob's topic in Apple II Computers
As recall, ProDOS was made in Two Parts, unlike the original Apple ][ DOS.. The PRODOS ( SYS ) File is the Base OS, RWTS and Higher Level Disk Functions.. The BASIC.SYSTEM ( SYS ) is the BASIC Commands that are Hooked into BASIC.. If your not using any BASIC Programs, you don't need to Load BASIC.SYSTEM, thus saving you RAM for your Assembly Language programs.. MarkO -
It would be possible to "hook" the Keyboard Routine to Click the Speaker.. This would Slow Down the Response a bit, because you would need to make an Audible Click before returning the Control to BASIC or your application... MarkO

Can you post the Links to the Archive that has the Technical Docs?? I had a Star Gemini 10, way back in the early 80, and I still have a Star SG-10.. I could probably Dump the ROMs on the SG-10. MarkO

Like the FD-501 ( Radio-Shack Part Number 26-3131 )??? https://www.cocopedia.com/wiki/index.php/FD-501_(26-3131) This is a Floppy Drive Controller for the Tandy Color Computer.. The ROM is MC6809 Code, not Zilog Z80 that the Model 1 uses.. Something could possibly be rigged up, but it might be better to just get the Correct Hardware.... MarkO

Waffle BBS and Lantronix UDS10
MarkO replied to maelstrom9510's topic in Classic Computing Discussion
What Disconnect Signal is Waffle sending to the UDS10?? Can you use the DSR/DTR to control the ON Hook/OFF Hook Status? The UDS10 supports Modem Mode commands with a 1 Second Delay, then Three '+' , with no longer that 1 Second Delay, then another 1 Second Delay. The UDS10 Prompts, "OK", then you send "ATH" and Enter and the UDS10 Prompts with another "OK". This will Disconnect the Session.. ( See Lantronx UDS10/100 Manual, PDF Page31 ) https://www.lantronix.com/wp-content/uploads/pdf/UDS10-UDS100_UG.pdf MarkO -
