What it means is that no matter how hard someone tries to come up with a did unitive set of color palettes for Atari 7800 emulators, it is an exercise in futility. There are just too many variables involved to get anything "exact", so you have to strive for a happy medium, like I did with my final NTSC color palettes for Prosystem many moons ago.
What I do notice is the longer the 7800 is left on, the further the phase shift pulls the color palette on real hardware closer to the desired colors, as opposed to what most people have settled for as the "default" 7800 color scheme.

Get a custom firmware equipped PS3 and play the all from ISOs on an external drive.
I still have a PS2 but I use it only as a networked media player using FreeMcBoot and SMS player.

Lol yep. I've been trying to get involved on the ps3 port of Retroarch, a multi-core multi-system emulator that is easily ported to many platforms, and right now the main coders are concentrating on the android/touchscreen device ports, and I just kept asking why? What a terrible format for retro gaming.I'd rather take a shit in my hands and clap than desecrate classic games with touch screen controls. Just the thought of them infuriates me for some reason.

Completely false. The PSP shares no common hardware with the original Playstation. PSX games run on the PSP using the Sony-coded "POPS" emulator, aka playstation on playstation. The advantage is that Sony had the original hardware and software development specs needed to code a highly optimized emulator core which would be sufficient to run the PSX games efficiently.The funny part is the PSX "emulation" on the PSP is damn near perfect. But that's because it was a hardware feature of the PSP from the beginning.
I know this because I worked with Dark Alex (one of the PSP CFW pioneers) directly in testing and developing the POPSloader plugin, which allowed for CFW users to change the emulator core to different versions from different PSP firmware releases, because compatibility changed and varied from version to version.

I'd say it's more for purists who want to see as close to 100% arcade accuracy.For games that are designed to be played forever without any end, adding kill screens to arcade games adaptations seems to be more for the fans of those annoying quirks.
I count myself among them, since I'll never be able to afford all of these original Arcade Cabinets at home.

The thing is, this isn't so much a limitation of the PSP itself as it is poorly encoded emulators with ineffective Dynarecs for the PSP. The PSP more than has the horsepower to pull it off if the emulator is efficient and accurate.
Just look at Picodrive for the PSP. It does full speed 60fps Sega CD emulation, which is a little less than twice the horsepower of the SNES. If it can do that, it can do SNES if the proper care is given to maximizing its efficiency for the PSP. Problem is, most PSP emulator homebrews are lazy ports if the windows or Linux versions, with very little in the way of optimizations.

I stopped updating at 5.50 CFW, and the MAME version is the mame4all 4.9r2.What CFW and version of MAME are you using? I would love to get MAME running on mine again

I've played SNES emulation on it a handful of times and it seemed just fine. Then again, I'm not really interested in Nintendo consoles because im not into cutesy mushroom Kirby's and Pokemon toddler themed games.That's just nonsense. The SNES does not run great on the PSX. If you have to skip frames, it's not great emulation.

I have a psp 1000 and it runs everything just fine. They only systems it doesnt emulate well are N64, 32x, and NEO Geo. everything else from the 2600 up through the PSX runs great. MAME runs fine for all the classic era games, which is all I care about. I wouldn't expect a portable device to be capable of emulating San Francisco Rush arcade anyway, LOL.
As for how easy it is to load up? Really? You copy things to the memory stick and they run straight from the menu. There's no complication at all. There is no question that a CFW PSP does way more than a Wiz or a Canoo, based on the PSP games alone.

Mess32 was never a frontend in the sense of it being separate from the original program. Mess32 and Mame32 were both officially part of the source code and the emulator binary was integrated with the gui in the program executable. It's sad that they discontinued it being available.Like MAME, MESS has always been command line driven with a basic UI (accessed by pressing TAB). The screenshot you posted appears to be from a frontend called MESS32.

Also - for those interested, I'm currently working on trying to get Prosystem ported to the PS3 Homebrew Multi-emulator platform: Retroarch. It might take a while, I don't know this system at all. Once it's ported, there will be versions of Prosystem on Wii, PS3, X-Box 360, Android, Linux, among others as Retroarch uses the Libretro API, which is easily ported across multiple platforms.

And now that this is finally final* Here is the compiled version of PSP7800 (Prosystem port to Sony PSP for users running Custom Firmware).
I used the GS enhanced palettes posted above as the default for NTSC and PAL.

This also includes a screen placement fix so that Donkey Kong XM is now properly located on the scree and the score isn't cut off.

In my experience, the only people who call anyone here "low-balling jokers" are people with insanely inflated sense of something's value. We're not talking about precious jewelery, or gold, or bearer bonds here. We're talking about crusty old late 70's & early 80's video games that most of the world have forgotten about, or will occasionally snicker at nostalgically when they flash by on TV.2. Because they know that some low-balling joker is just going to offer them half (or less) of what they're asking anyway.
Bottom line: If you don't like it, don't buy. Pretty simple, I think.

I'm down with the whole "Pictures and Starting Prices required" idea.
Pricing wise, It just makes sense. 99.999% of the time Sellers already know what they want roughly for a price. Buyers shouldn't have to guess and risk being ignored, passed up, or insulted over it. (all of these have happened to me on here.)
As for the pictures, this is a no brainer. The vast majority of items being sold here are used, loose, or in already opened boxes and are 20-30 years old. Physical condition is very important. Expecting people to guess and hope you're not fibbing about the condition of something you're selling is just plain rude. As my parents would likely say - if you can't afford a decent camera to take a picture of it, you probably shouldn't have spent all your money on video games first, kid. Every cellphone in the world has a decent camera on it now. I'd be wary of buying anything online fro someone who doesn't have a cellphone but is selling used video games anyway.

I would stay away from LCD altogether if you're using it for gaming. LED or DLP ate the way to go. LCD and plasma are dated tech, and mostly crap.
