Machines that i have owned since new and still have atari 7800 NES sega dreamcast with 32k adapter dreamcast ps1

just for the heck of it, here she is. But its great to know that the NES conroller mod will work on an old 400, AND my atari 7800. I just need to solder one up some evening and give it a go. I never could stand the ataris joystick.

So ive recently picked up at Atari 400 computer, all stock. I will max out the ram, add composite video in the future, but for now I want to do something with the joystick. Ive seen modded nes controllers (using stock atari joystick cords) that worked on nintendos. So I assume that I can do the same mod, or a similar one, so that i can use a nintendo controller to play games with. Does anyone know if this would work, or have seen it done? I know some people love the old joysticks, but to me they were always a pain.

Im looking for an atari motherboard and power supply for an upcoming project. I may even be interested in a parts computer. Any model would be considered.

I dont care if the vmu still works, im using this DC as nothing but an emulator for nintendo and atari era games. Ive seen an article (i cant find it now) where the guy showed how to mod a ps2 controller to work with a DC. Id rather not spend 25+ bucks for the adaptor, because it will just be hidden inside it anyhow. So does anyone here know just how to do this?

Ive modded a dreamcast to fit inside a classic nintendo. I would like to use my favorite controller, the ps2. Ive found adators to use them with a dreamcast, but id just like the wiring diagram to do it myself. Im using the nintendos cord end attached to the ps2 controller, so the nintendo looks fairly stock from the outside. But i dont know which socket wires to attach to the dreamcasts. Ive seen one that was done exactly like this, so i know its possible. Any help would be appreciated.
