  1. Sadly no, they are just the standard box carts - not the v carts. Must have been a late batch. As for Singapore there's not much. Even though there was Atari manufacturing here, very few people here are even aware of it. I had to trawl through the local newspaper archives to find out who were the local distributors in the 70/80's. The only retro scene here is post NES and Japanese imports. It's a shame people don't remember... I have a number of M Network boxes with the words "Made in Singapore" stamped on them. This place is awesome for Sony and modern limited edition products! You have to dig deep here to even find any Atari products... I found Australia had a better Atari scene and was a shit load cheaper!

  2. Hey Guys, thought I finally show off my Atari 2600 collection. It small but growing steadily over time. I move around the world a lot due to my job. So far this collection has travelled to many countries and now finally here in Singapore. As you know looking after a collection of Atari cardboard boxes is challenging, even more so in the humid climate and lack of space in Singapore apartments. In all I have around 348 Atari titles. My entire collection of Retro games is roughly 2000 plus but my real passion is early 80's late 70's.

  3. I saw those too. I can't say I am understanding the price spike on ebay as of late. Tunnel Runner, Mountain King, & Omega Race all went for at least twice what they've been selling for. I had each of them in my sights and looked up each of the past sales. All were were way over any of the recent sales. Tunnel Runner was especially weird with someone bidding in $2 increments over and over. I never understand why people do that. Ebay is designed to eliminate the need for that. :?

I'm the one who picked up this Omega Race and maybe I paid a little more over market price. But the last one I saw in similar condition was also around $100US and almost a year ago. I haven't received it yet (I'm in Australia), but it does look in excellent quality compared to previous ebay sales. Just kicking myself that I let the other Apollo games go so cheap.... That 2$ increment is an ebay sniper set to creep at 2$ Per bid - really annoying when it's down to the last 30seconds and some guy beats you by 2$!!

  4. OK, I edited my auction to explain about how people believe Tigervision did not shrinkwrap their games, but because the tape is still on the box I still believe that it is sealed. I then messaged the top 3 bidders, and made them aware of the situation as well.

I used to manage a computer store, it was policy to shrink wrap all games that came unwrapped to prevent stock damage. I was common practice, and I'd imagine most other stores would do the same.

IMO 50$US is still cheap for Maniac Miner in very good to mint condition even if it doesn't have the factory seals.

  5. In my experience the damage done to my packages are the Venezuelan customs that rip open the packages. Australian customs (since I am I Australia) include a certificate of authority notifying you of a customs inspection.

The problem is hit and miss, but out of the volume of trades, it's around 50%. They usually target the larger consignment. I've now started to double up on items I need, to improved the odds of getting through Venezuelan customs intact. In the past I've had carts ripped open, boxes shredded, and the manuals torn. Since I'm only interested in sealed boxes, the value of the consignments is significantly reduced. The total number of damages is 4 to 5 boxes per consignment. I usually order between 20 to 30 boxes (note:I'm a collector, not a reseller)

I put all the risks of Venezuelan custom searches down to the risks in our hobby. I don't like it, but the products coming out of Venezuela makes the risk worth while.

  6. Just a quick shout out, I'm Perth based.

Been collecting for a while, but only seriously started collecting in the past 6months. Concentrating on CIB/NIB Carts and CD/DVD. Have a collection over 1200 titles covering:

    - Commodore: Vic20, C16, C64, Amiga, CDTV, CD32

    - Atari 2600, 5200, 7800, 400/800, ST

    - Sega SG300, SMS, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, Saturn

    - Xbox/Xbox 360

    - Sony PS1, PSP, PS2, PS3

    - Nintendo NES, SNES, N64, Wii, GameCube, Gameboy, Advanced, DS

    - Dick Smith VZ200/300

    - TeleSport Pong

    - Intellivsion

    - Colecovision

A majority are sealed with some personal gems M.U.L.E C64, Miner 2049'r, Polaris, Beamraider etc. The irony of it all, apart from the Xbox360/CDTV/CD32, I don't have the systems to test the carts! Removes the temptation to open the sealed packs.......

I do have a CIB Sega John Sands SG3000 but more of a conversational piece than risk further damage....

I've decided to focus on the late 70's early 80's NIB's, that's my passion.... For now. Certified Hoarder...
