  1. Just curious, how many of you are willing to spend 5 times or more the retail price of something that has only been out of print for a relatively short time (maybe a year or two)? It seems like the minute something goes out of print now, it immediately jumps at least to 2 or 3 times the retail price. Am I in the minority in that I refuse to pay that kind of markup on newer items?

      Most Often, I'd say NO WAY!

       

        but... there is a realistic component here in that it depends on what we're talking about.  Sometimes things are necessary (but that might apply more to say a classic car part,  than to a video game, system, or set up)...Also sometimes you just want what you want, and things can achieve mythical status as try to get them, esp. if you get close...

      It just seems like everything skyrockets in price as soon as it's no longer available, now, instead of appreciating in value over time. Is FOMO that prevalent that we're willing to overpay so much so soon after items go out of print/production?
