I bought several games from FujiSkunk, and they were packaged well and arrived as described. Thanks!

Nintendo-themed Coffee Shop opening in Calgary
chicgamer replied to jhd's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Next year, there is a Sega Genesis themed pizza place opening in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I believe the owners are developing their own Genesis games. -
Yes, it's easy to do. The hardest part for me was getting the 3D printed case to come apart. The board extends a bit below the connectors, so you just have to file that part down a bit. I did it in a matter of minutes using a small file. If I remember correctly, the carts were being sold on the Goat Store for $130 to $140 (at least, that's what I remember about the "ghost" version). I missed out on it, but I ended up buying a V2 later for $200 (people were marking them up, of course, since they were no longer being produced). Fortunately, I was able to sell mine for the same price I bought it. Since someone is producing Skunkboards again, the price has gone back down.

Really looking forward to this game. Too bad the 7800 didn't have something like this during its lifespan. By the way, and I may have mentioned this before, but I love that you include your kids in your reviews. They're so damn cute! Sent from my SM-J700P using Tapatalk

I bought mine in December, and mine wasn't beveled. If the person selling these is doing it now, then good, I'm glad others won't have this issue.
-
I looked up a video for it. Very cool! It's like Shining in the Darkness for the 7800.
-
Yup, it sounds like that's all you need.
-
Games work on mine, until they don't, and then I get this as well. I'll be in the middle of a game, and then it will freeze, and all I get from any of the slots are what you describe. I was going to send it to Juan in hopes that maybe this would be fixed with a later revision (I have an early version of the cart), but I didn't get around to it, and it looks like he hasn't been around in a while.
-
Definitely not my type of game, but nice review. Just curious—are there any 7800 games that use any of the Atari 2600 keypads? Might be cool to see a homebrew make use of one.

Did it come with the burner? You'll need that to add games to the cart. The burner hooks up to your computer using a mini USB cable.

Okay, I beveled the edge of the Skunkboard, and everything seems okay now. I think I did bend some pins when inserting the Skunkboard prior to beveling the connector, as I sometimes have to remove and reinsert Jaguar cartridges now for them to be recognized. Ugh. So, yeah, anyone who buys this Skunkboard should definitely bevel the connector before ever using it. Not sure why the seller doesn't have this done. Does it add much to the cost of a PCB to have the connector beveled?
-
You know, I may be wrong about the thickness. It may just look thicker to me due to not having a beveled edge. After I figure out how to get it out of this 3D printed case, I'll compare it to a regular Jaguar cart. EDIT: Okay, forget what I said about the PCB thickness. I compared it to a Tempest cart, and both are 1.3 mm thick. I'm going to try beveling the edge, and hopefully that will fix everything.

Looks like I never should have sold my V2 Skunkboard. Is it seriously this simple? The cart will still work fine? I thought about doing this, but I was afraid I'd just damage the Skunkboard.

I bought a Skunkboard from Sell My Retro a couple of months ago, and while I've been happy with it for the most part, there is one big issue I've had with it—sometimes other carts won't work in my Jaguar after I remove the Skunkboard. I know that this Skunkboard isn't beveled, but it also appears to be thicker than other cartridge PCBs. I'm not sure if all Skunkboards are like this (I used to have a V2 Skunkboard, but I never had any issues with it). Anyone else have experience with the Skunkboard off Sell My Retro? Have you had similar issues, and if so, did you find a way to resolve it? I'm really worried about permanently damaging the cart connector on my Jaguar. The only solution that I can think of would be to create a pass-through adapter of some kind (which is beyond my abilities).

These ports still amaze me! So awesome to have all these classic games on the Jaguar. By the way, if you ever need an additional tester, I have a shiny new Skunkboard. Well, maybe not shiny, but it is new.

Ringing in the new year with the game.com
chicgamer replied to DeathAdderSF's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I bought a Game.com and several games brand new a few years ago. I tried out all the games and then set everything aside. The screen is just too hard to see (of course, it didn't help that my brand new system's screen came out of the package with a blank horizontal line). I typically find something to like for any system, but I've yet to do that with the Game.com. I tried playing Sonic a couple of days ago, and they just got everything wrong (except for maybe the graphics). Most of my time was spent trying to get enough momentum for Sonic to actually run up hills. Just ugh. -
So, I watched a the ending of a playthrough that was completed with all fireflies, and it doesn't change the end so much as it does the last level. I won't spoil what changes, but it makes me want to replay and get all the fireflies.
-
I finally got around to playing through this. It's a very nice, polished game. Anyone know if collecting all the fireflies opens up anything (a different ending, maybe?).

People will always find reasons to dislike. It may be that they don't like Xenophobe or don't like the 7800 or don't like a font you chose for your title card or your voice reminds them of some guy they once had a fight with. You shouldn't let it discourage you at all, because you're doing a great job with these videos.

I went back and forth about whether to buy the physical version or not, and I just went with the Steam version as well. Physical carts are nice to have, but I already have an issue with having enough space to store my physical games, and then there is the convenience of not needing to switch carts to play the game.

CED based games? (Capacitance Electronic Disc)
chicgamer replied to FOX2600's topic in Classic Console Discussion
It's funny that this topic was posted yesterday, as I just got my first CED player last night. The people on the CED VideoDisc and Player Discussion Forum could probably answer your questions about any games released as CEDs. -
The jumper is installed, and I double-checked all my solder points, so maybe it is just a bad thumbstick. I'll desolder it tomorrow and try a different thumbstick to see if that fixes it. Thanks for the help!
-
I just went over all the solder points again, adding a bit more solder to each to ensure a good connection, but I'm getting the same issue. I guess it's possible that there is an issue with the stick I'm using (it came off an old PS2 controller that was working the last time I used it). By the way, thanks so much for sharing your case design! I printed a shell and will put my controller in it after I get it working.
