  1. My parents never really played games when I was growing up. However, a few years before he passed, I set my dad up with my old computer, and he started learning to use it. I ended up buying him a Hoyle poker game for it, and he ended up spending tons of time playing it. whenever I was around and he was on the computer, he would show me how much money he had earned in the game. I still have his save file with all his earnings. :)

  2. Yeah, the House of the Dead: Overkill has more missions and a new character compared to the Wii version.

I have all the House of the Dead games available on the PS3 (2, 3, 4, and Overkill). If only they would have done a remastered version of the first game ...

I also have the Resident Evil light gun games on the PS3, but I have yet to get around to playing them. I usually play these games with a friend, and it's just easy to pick up and play the House of the Dead games.

  3. Thanks for the recommendations so far! It sounds CD-i had a pretty stellar line up.

How about my question regarding if there was a mod or product that will allow me to play Sega CD games on a CD-i? If it doesn't exist, I would think it would be a great idea for someone to take up and they could make a lot of money.

I doubt anyone would ever find a way to play Sega CD on a CD-i. Even if it were possible, I don't think there are enough CD-i owners to make it a worthwhile project (especially since many people who own a CD-i are likely collectors who already own a Sega CD). One thing I would love to see is an optical drive emulator like we now have for the Saturn, Dreamcast, Turbo CD, FM Towns Marty, and 3DO. I'm not sure that anyone will ever thinks it's worthwhile enough to develop one for the CD-i.

One thing to consider when purchasing a CD-i—there is a battery that is housed within a chip inside the CD-i, and these batteries have all either failed or will fail soon. I've seen claims that when the battery dies, the CD-i no longer works; however, the battery in my CD-i is dead, but the only problem it creates is that I can't save games.

  4. I'm glad they were able to release it on Steam so that they'll get a bit more notice, though I can't imagine playing it on Steam. I really want to play it on my Genesis.

I found an email address on their website, so i sent them a message asking about whether they include a digital copy for the preorders for the physical copies that are currently open. Keeping my fingers crossed that they say, "yes." :)

  5.

That is why I'm so glad that those with physical cart purchases like myself, also got a copy of the digital version that we can play now while we wait.

Do you know if people who preorder the physical copy now off the Tangewood site can access the digital version, or was that just a Kickstarter perk? I don't see any mention of the ROM being included.

  6. You got it working then? That's good to hear. The one I have right now is doing the exact same thing.

How much do people normally charge for the solder job?

Sorry for the delayed response. The price you were quoted here appears to be about the norm (someone on the VB forums is charging $42 plus shipping).

Yeah, the Virtual Boy was working, but something else came up that I need to fix. Hopefully will be relatively easy.

  7. ... I guess you mean "original" disc.

"teh romz" of it is not exactly that hard to find.

Right, it's more that I would like to have it from a collection standpoint than wanting to play the game.

That said, I would play it, if I owned it. Maybe not for long, though, depending on how terrible it may be.

  8. Does that top middle case have "Santa Claus" and "Alice" on it? Does that, by chance, have the Alice in Wonderland CD-i game on it?

I would like to get the Alice in Wonderland CD-i game sometime, not because I think it will be a good game, but I'm into all things Alice.
