I could possibly help out with setting up oral exams via Zoom.

This is also exactly what you see in MAME, so it is definitely a matter of 50/60 Hz. I recently tried it and wanted to post a screenshot, but this proved to be a bit difficult.

The lesson I learnt is that you can't rely on the Carry Flag when performing arithmetic larger than 16 bits. The most reliable method I found was to use the overflow for arithmetic functions and carry for carry over to the next register. For example:
I'd probably calculate the two's complement of the second operand and use an addition.
by the way, which register is the most significant? I guess R3 and R7 (otherwise, SB and JNO would not make sense).

The PFM is a replacement for the boot EPROM. It appears in pages F0-FF, see https://www.ninerpedia.org/wiki/Geneve_physical_memory_map.
(PFM512 and Myarc memory expansion are also properly emulated in MAME, if you'd like to try it.)

Here is the FOSDEM 2021 talk of Vas Crabb about MAME. He is the current project leader.

This reminds me of those little choco tarts at the bakery (where they put all the remaining stuff from the cakes and pour chocolate over them). We call them Granatsplitter (lit. "shell splinter"). See https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granatsplitter

I think CALL FILES (and the subprogram) needs a NEW in BASIC because the pointers have to be reset. This does not work with a program in memory because the tables grow from higher memory locations downward and would need to be moved away.

I actually can't remember when we had such cold weather last time here in Germany. Temperatures below 0 for a week, -20°C at some locations (-4°F), ground frost up to 50cm deep.

Thanks, we have it on MAME as cartridge "munchmnb".

Oh, is that so? I don't know of drives that do not support double density; is that explicitly stated in the specs? The actually hardware-dependent features are 80 track (narrower tracks) and high density (different magnetic head). DD is just another encoding with smaller cells. As if you switched from Country Waltz to Metal.
As for the TI controller, I'm still surprised how common it is still today. Before that topic came up some years ago, I honestly thought the TI controller was almost gone, hence, in my TIImageTool I set double density as the default. I switched to DD in the late 80es, I don't remember if I even waited for my original TI controller to fail before I got a new controller. We had quite a selection to choose from: Myarc HFDC, DDCC-1, CorComp, Atronic, BwG come to my mind.
But it's probably too late to spend so many thoughts about floppies. 🙂

Unless you have a TI disk controller, I'd always recommend to go for double density (/18 instead of /9). Better than 80 tracks with single density, double density means (almost) double speed.

No, don't do that. The magnetic coating of the disk does not magically change when the hole is covered. And this is the reason why HD disks normally don't work in DD drives.

The Gotek supports HFE too, if I remember correctly. You can use this format with TIImageTool, maybe give it a try.

The speech synthesizer should not be a problem from the logical aspect, since I included it in my tests. As for physical aspects (signal stability), I don't know. The FG is not emulated either.

I could not trigger any crash with Tutankham in MAME. I tried 20 starts (selecting 1 player) with 50Hz, then 20 starts with 60 Hz. The game always started normally. There were no warning outputs either (e.g. like unknown opcode).

I think the Estonians and Finnish people almost understand each other (yksi, kaksi, kolme vs. üks, kaks, kolm (1,2,3)). Maybe similar to Dutch vs. German.
